Just for one day next year, they could field a lineup with Robert, Anderson, Moncada, Madrigal, Tilson, and Engel. Other 3 guys don't even matter. Just to say it was the fastest single starting lineup an MLB team ever put out.
It's pretty simple to me. He wants to stay and will probably take a cheap deal to do so, but at the same time he's frustrated with how slow the process is, because he knows what it's heading towards and he's getting impatient
Exactly. It's really not much deeper than this. You don't have to be Mike Trout to question whether you're being put in the best position to win, especially in the midst of a 6th consecutive losing season
I guess I meant to say "whether they dislike it enough to actually comment on it publicly", and more in reference to White Sox players than the entire league. I don't remember anyone saying stuff like this last summer with Eloy, for example
It probably is out of context. Regardless, many have wondered whether the service time games bother players who want to win. When one of the most reserved and respected players on the team says this, even if it's not perfectly in context, it clearly shows that they don't like it.
Or in Dietrich's case, someone who knows how to take a gd HBP. I'm not kidding, he gets like 20 per year (on pace for 30+ this year) so they're basically bonus walks for him every year.
Well said. It's always like this- when things are looking good (as in heading into the ASB), many are happy but there are far fewer posts/threads than there are when things are bad. A week or two from now we'll probably swing back in the other direction.
Correct, and many have floated the idea, but Robert has little incentive to sign an extension because he got such a big signing bonus relative to Eloy/other young players who signed extensions. It's the same reason I don't see us extending Moncada (or at least not until he hits the open market)
They could, but I'm curious as to what their excuse will be for keeping him down. They can't really blame defense, plate discipline, etc. so by promoting him prior to August, they put themselves in an uncomfortable situation
