  1. Ken Rosenthal is reporting that the Blue Jays would prefer to trade their vets, and Stroman and TA are apparently friends now, so what do you think it would take to get him from Toronto? He's under control through the end of 2020 so we'd probably want to extend him, which should be relatively easy in this climate. He's also looking like a totally different pitcher this season (in a good way). For the next 5 or so years, we'd be looking at: Kopech Cease Stroman 2 of Lopez/Rodon/Giolito/Dunning/Hansen/Lambert etc. Is Blake Rutherford, Amado Nunez, and Jonathan Stiever too light for ~2 years of him (pre-extension)? If the money will be spent, I figured this would be a semi-realistic target to trade for and extend.
  2. Very possible. I just am mentally preparing for the general disappointment when he *doesn't* hit .400/.500/.600 right away. If he does, there's a real case to be made that he should be in the majors for the summer
  3. He's gonna be bad for a couple weeks and strike out a ton and then get in a groove and force the issue again, IMO
  4. He does need time in Charlotte, but he isn't in the same group as the other two I listed since he actually has a high ceiling
  5. If you're trying to get rid of guys with no future, then focus on Covey/Osich types and not actual prospects who throw 99 with movement
  6. In 97 career minor league games, Luis Robert has 20 HBP. Anyone know why this figure is so high? Is it his stance or just bad luck?
  7. Yes. I think he’ll be around #5 mid season and #1 in the offseason.
  8. Ironically, the FO was aggressive and proactive in the SP market, where they could have/should have waited, and they were ultra-patient in the market for elite talent, where they should have been more aggressive.
  9. Lol, did Benetti really just say that Chris Davis is "not the guy you want to have up as the tying run" unironically?
  10. Yeah Walker hasn't been getting enough love either. They're both too talented for their current assignments.
  11. Nothing like burning a reliever for 2 pitches in the 6th inning
  12. He's so much better than his peers that trying to take walks isn't even a preferred outcome, i.e. an aggressive approach is the best way to go for now
  13. It's the elbow he had TJ on, I believe. Yes, that was him, but after some time with that he ended up just getting the surgery edit- and this year, he has been exclusively DHing as well
