QUOTE (coco1997 @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 03:27 PM) Where's Mark Buehrle when you need him? Probably still available. Don't think he retired yet
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 13, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) None at all. Ideally, I think it's better if Turner and Fulmer start in the rotation. Fulmer hasn't been that great sofar in spring

Chisox sought desmond for SS late for "north of" alexei's 4M, but when he didn't take it spent 10M on latos/rollins/ajax https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/708684360505888769

White Sox Spring Team Offensive Stats (as of 3/10)
Whisox05 replied to ScootsMcGoots's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Scoots @ Mar 11, 2016 -> 03:59 PM) Some positive things coming from the Sox so far. Here are their Spring Stats according to MLB.com as of the games on March 10th. OFFENSE: AVG: .291 (8th MLB/4th AL) HR: 16 (2nd MLB/ 2nd AL) Doubles: 23 (T5th MLB/3rd AL) Runs: 53 (11th MLB/ 5th AL) SLG: .542 (1st MLB) OPS: .878 (4th MLB/3rd AL) Obviously they have done well hitting, but their pitching is currently 26th (according to ERA) and their defense is actually pretty good with a .983 fielding pct, which is good for 9th MLB/ 5th AL. I think the pitching stats aren't a big area of concern because a lot of the runs scored against, at least from what I have seen, have come against pitchers that won't be on the major league roster come April, and our starters have been fairing decently. I am psyched about this offense (especially Avi), as even Rollins is showing some pop. Thoughts guys? 4 more homeruns today now up to 20 sofar -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 10:51 AM) Probably not. Though that group will make it closer than Bruce alone. I'm not saying bruce is the answer is just really believe they might still be a big bat away still.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 10:40 AM) And they got a lot more bang from their buck getting new catchers, Latos, Jackson, and Rollins instead of just Bruce. But is that going to be enough
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 10, 2016 -> 09:15 AM) There are $12.5 million reasons that Jay Bruce isn't going to happen. This screams of writers trying to make a fit where one really doesn't exist. Thats amount isn't far from what the White Sox spent in free agency this offseason.

chisox and reds havent had any recent talks regarding jay bruce. with a-jax in fold, CWS not seeking starting OF https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/707701964369334277

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 10:01 PM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/03/08/lev...-has-been-busy/ Levine is still mentioning Jay Bruce. Says Cincinnati has been scouting Sox during spring training. Also said Hahn would still like a LHH. Whats happened to cargo. Thought he was still available too or least that's what levine thought lol

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 09:54 AM) Mat Latos first start Saturday at Cubs. Via the CST_soxvan Twitter. So much for the panic about him. I wasn't worried about him. I'm guessing cooper was working with him on something

white sox keeping Latos out of spring training games for now
Whisox05 replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Also just noticed they had Quintana pitch in a B game. Danks and then Turner is the next starters pitching. Are they trying to hide Quintana too for cactus league games -
White Sox HR totals should get a big boost this year
Whisox05 replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 05:58 PM) Most parks are band boxes. So pincer the Sox moved into their current home, I think they had one year they didn't hit a lot of home runs and were reasonably successful. Getting away from power would be a mistake. No one said to get away from power. I think the Sox could still be lacking more power and run producing. Key for them is getting into the 700 for runs scored -
White Sox HR totals should get a big boost this year
Whisox05 replied to VAfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (VAfan @ Mar 7, 2016 -> 03:03 PM) White play at US Cellular. They should be a HR hitting team to take advantage of that park. KC is a totally different ballpark. A HR heavy team wouldn't work there. The Sox are not going to bash like the teams that hit more than 200 HR every year, but in our ballpark, HRs are important. Yes but they also play away games so they will be playing in parks that aren't that homer friendly. Got to be able to score runs all around
