  1. Jon Heyman https://www.fanragsports.com/white-sox/heyman-could-white-sox-be-dark-horse-for-machado/ "One rival GM suggested he believes the Chicago White Sox could be a “dark horse” candidate to sign star infielder Manny Machado."
  2. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Apr 15, 2018 -> 01:16 PM) Yeah, I believe the whole point of him DHing is the alternative to surgery, and said surgery would only occur if something goes wrong with the natural healing process Him DHing is to get him at bats and not lose more playing time. Best case scenario is elbow will heal with out surgery is what they are hoping but he could still need it which would put him out 8 to 9 months. That's why he's DHing is to get him as many at bats as possible https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.mlb.com/26...-scare.amp.html
  3. Scouts are absolutely raving about chisox prospect Luis Robert. That team has more 4-star prospects than anyone. (Yanks, padres, braves just behind) https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/969297918367752192?s=19
  4. https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/inside-bas...y-for-comeback/ "Carlos Gonzalez is another possibility for the White Sox."
  5. https://www.fanragsports.com/mlb/inside-bas...y-for-comeback/ "Mike Moustakas could emerge as a possibility, Jon Morosi of MLB.com reported. The White Sox have as many prospects as any AL team but don’t have a big one at third base. While this would be a year before any expected push for a pennant, it may represent a nice opportunity for the ChiSox. The third base market hasn’t developed as expected, and Moustakas may not get what he originally sought. There are plenty of one-year opportunities for him, but a one-year deal would put him back on the market with Josh Donaldson and Manny Machado."
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Feb 20, 2018 -> 09:23 PM) Got a different impression from his appearance on the sports talk live podcast. Absolutely didn't rule out adding someone if it fits long-term and doesn't block a prospect Rick Hahn gives an update on the state of the White Sox rebuild in this episode of the SportsTalk Live Podcast: https://t.co/HP0QKByhH2 https://t.co/4l0JGg3Jnx https://twitter.com/NBCSChicago/status/966140975486767106 The podcast for that
  7. QUOTE (Tony @ Feb 20, 2018 -> 08:52 PM) That told us very little. We’re prepared to choose the 25 man roster from the group that’s here in camp, but we could add a long-term free agent too. Pretty much we may or may not do anything lol
  8. Yankees probably definitely out on moustakas with trade they made. Not really sure there's much of a market for him. Might lower asking price
  9. I think they might go with a different Cf then leury not sure who but this was tweeted earlier. Renteria spoke of Leury Garcia as more utility guy than regular CF. "We’re going to give him an opportunity to be moved around a lot and keep him as valuable as we possibly can at any position we have." https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/965698037375840256
  10. QUOTE (balfanman @ Feb 18, 2018 -> 02:48 PM) I can’t link the article from the tribune for some reason, if someone can it would be appreciated. I’m excited for the rebuild, but there is an article there where Yoan Moncada is quoted as saying that he’s excited knowing that the second base job is his. Maybe he was taken the wrong way, but this bothers me. He’s a talented, exciting young prospect, but it is not like he is a perennial all star and mvp candidate at this point in his career. I hope he does that in his career, but at this point he should have to earn it. Yes, he is the most likely winner there, but if he has a horrible spring, and someone else, say Yolmer Sanchez for example, tears the cover off the ball along with his sparkling defense this spring, Moncada should not just be handed the job. I just don’t like the attitude. JMHO. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0217-story.html I'm guessing you are referring to this article. Here is his quotes "Last year when the team called me (up), I thought they just were going to give me a few chances to play second base,” Moncada said through a team interpreter. “But they gave me the opportunity to play every day and it was a really good experience for me. “This year, knowing that I’m going to be at second base every day, I’m going to feel more comfortable.” I mean the job is his. Your not going to let him compete with other players for it when he's your future second baseman. You want him to play everyday to see what he is capable of. Who's he he going to compete with anyway for everyday. Sanchez is a utility player and probably going to see some time at 3rd. Saladino is a utility player and needs to get healthy. Leury is a utility player but will be eyeing for c.f.
  11. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Feb 16, 2018 -> 03:18 PM) I know Nunez isn't the big bat Boston is looking for but with the stance the Red Sox have taken with Martinez, it should be interesting to see if signing Nunez has any impact on the Martinez negotiations. Nunez is there for 2nd until pedroia comes back then to play around like a utility player. Shouldn't affect martinez
  12. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Feb 8, 2018 -> 10:22 AM) Balta's right -- you can't add effectively in trades/free agency unless you know what you actually have. Letting the kids play is good for their development, but it's just as important for the sake of separating the wheat from the chaff. Going into next season and potentially bidding for Harper or Machado, wouldn't it be great to know if Delmonico or Sanchez is actually rosterable as a starter? One or the other busting or thriving could change everything. Now is not the time for marginal upgrades. Delmonico is probably going to play in left field. So a dh player isn't going to affect him. As for sanchez is a utility player. Even if you give him reps it's probably going to be third but that's only going to be this year especially if they can go and get machado maybe. The only one that would lose playing time would be Davidson and I think the sox would like to see less of him at times.

  18. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jan 10, 2018 -> 05:35 PM) Very few people read what people type. I am constantly amused at one or two sentences of a 10 paragraph post (by me) suddenly becomes my entire post and my entire position. Probably is a good reminder to keep posts short.
  19. yelich camp and marlins are due to talk over trade possibility late this week. (naturally, a lot of teams are calling) https://t.co/aYVJM8VmJw https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/949372596126142465
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jan 4, 2018 -> 07:20 PM) This is George Offmans tweet Sox in 3 team trade with Dodgers and Royals getting relievers Luis Avilan from LA, Joakim Soria from KC and cash. And word is Sox kicked the tires on Tigers RF Nick Castellanos. I kinda take George with a grain of salt. Tends to repeat stuff other guys say
