  1. If nats miss on melancon (who's close w/ SF via @Ken_Rosenthal ) perhaps more likely they step up for sale, cutch https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805824415820816385
  2. With closer FA market about to roar, one name is buzzing among executives: Wade Davis. He is available and may be likeliest Royal to move. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/805820772140847104 If Melancon ends up with Giants as expected and Chapman goes to NYY, that leaves Nats, Marlins, Dodgers, possibly Cubs as interested teams. https://twitter.com/JeffPassan/status/805821060633530370
  3. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Dec 5, 2016 -> 11:10 AM) Thought this post deserved its own thread. Not saying it needs to be mega, but pretty noteworthy as you combined this report with a different report from Olney, which mentioned the frontoffice is warming to the idea of moving Sale and it would appear that there are more and more people buying into the rebuild philosphy. That said, until some moves are made, none of us really know what exactly is going on. Chuck garfien put out a tweet of Reinsdorf saying why sales value is so high for trading and wanting multiple cant miss prospects back
  4. #WhiteSox chairman Jerry Reinsdorf explains why the asking price for Chris Sale is so high: https://t.co/FZj7bSwtAK https://twitter.com/ChuckGarfien/status/805820533929611268

  6. Perception of outside executives is that #Astros #Nationals are teams trying hardest for Sale #Whitesox, #Braves next https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/805786658654322688 Come on Houston. Will take some bregman, reed, Tucker starting point

  8. Listening to WhiteSox official explain that they want to raze and restart like the Cubs, one asks, "but do they have a Theo Epstein plan?" https://twitter.com/pgammo/status/805708680889036800
  9. Holliday will DH offer some 1b insurance for Burd. Means #Yankees are out on Encarnacion. https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/805562298358267904
  10. Market for relievers won't really start moving until Chapman, Jansen, Melancon start to move, but 13 teams have checked in on Brad Ziegler https://twitter.com/Buster_ESPN/status/805506529503956992
  11. #Whitesox indeed want Swanson for Sale. #Braves have said no shot, but would consider Albies in a big deal. https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/805496692850225152
  12. Sources: Melancon has multiple 4-yr, $60M+ offers: #SFGiants, #Nationals, perhaps one other. SF thought to be strongest, as @jcrasnick said. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/805256686994853888
  13. Signs pointing to the dodgers signing rich hill, but no official confirmation yet. https://t.co/toEWzAs7jf https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805207086871101440 First with dodgers and hill today was @pgammo deal not confirmed, but alleged suitors nyy, tex and hou r not involved. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805207833608355840
  14. Sources: #Rockies showing continued interest in Mark Trumbo; clarity on his market likely to come during winter meetings. @MLB https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/805190446544801794
  15. The #Dodgers have reached an agreement on a 3-year deal with Rich Hill that's worth more than $40 million, per @pgammo https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/805183898883883008

  17. Braves have what it takes in terms of prospects to do Sale deal I hear. But so far, like the others, they haven't met price https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805150135093227520
  18. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Dec 3, 2016 -> 01:40 PM) Rumors that Boston or Yankees may be landing spot for EE. Morosi thinks New York https://twitter.com/jonmorosi?ref_src=twsrc...7Ctwgr%5Eauthor red sox still looking for a hitter, but i hear they do not plan to take the big plunge and make it EE https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805130667822563328
  19. Several teams in need of a closer are keeping tabs on Wade Davis and David Robertson, but the trade market has been slower to develop. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/805131878722404352 Im guessing once the dominos starting falling for the free agents interest would pick up for Robertson
  20. pirates person reiterates: team doesnt feel compelled to move mccutchen if the price isnt right. not saying he wont go tho. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/805104731236528128
  21. #WhiteSox didn't tender a contract offer to Blake Smith while signing Avi Garcia and Brett Lawrie. Their 40-man now sits at 38. https://twitter.com/CSNHayes/status/804836143183384581
  22. Two things: On #Braves starter search. I understand Sale is better than Archer. But the price to acquire him would also be higher. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/804730871966212096 By engaging on both Sale and Archer, #Braves have shown they're considering all possibilities. (Not so high on Sonny Gray, though). https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/804730938630479873
  23. If the #Nats pull off trade for #Pirates McCutchen, hard to see them having enough prized trade chips to also land #Whitesox Chris Sale https://twitter.com/BNightengale/status/804731601598947328
  24. Also, I realize "sleeper'' wasn't the best word to describe #Whitesox. But until they trade Sale, the rebuild is all just speculation. https://t.co/Dj6c3u1PNh https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/804731438251868165 My point was, Rick Hahn has a chance to make the meetings hop. If Sale goes, the dominos could fall quickly with other #Whitesox players. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/804731589330608128
  25. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Dec 2, 2016 -> 10:19 AM) While I wouldn't have any problem pouncing on the right return to sell him at what is most likely his peak value, I don't think it's wise to shop him. As mentioned before, five years of control make him every bit as useful to our next competitor as any of the 5+ year controllable brekaout prospects we're talking about targeting with Sale. Further, OF bats are one of the only things that actually ARE available in this year's free agent class (although many have been signed already), making it at least appear to not be an ideal trading market. They probably arent shopping him. Its just that teams could be pretty interested in him and they probably wont move him unless its a huge package. Theres probably no urgency on sox side
