  1. Was just told Zach Burdi is getting called up this week after one more appearance in Charlotte #whitesox https://twitter.com/barstoolWSD/status/764958801757818880
  2. QUOTE (Scoots @ Aug 14, 2016 -> 02:41 PM) Frazier just loooves swinging at that down and away slider Hes learning from Abreu
  3. I'd imagine Burdi will pitch Tuesday and then get called up. #WhiteSox https://twitter.com/BrianBilek_/status/764862666510860288
  4. Lawrie 2-2 sofar with a double, single and run scored

  6. QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Aug 8, 2016 -> 09:52 AM) This may not be exactly 100% on topic of the thread, but I keep reading about rebuilds across this board. Just one thing to point out - not all rebuilds go as planned. Not every rebuild turns into the Cubs. Look at the Pirates - they were rebuilding for over a decade and always in the cellar. Prospects don't all turn into something like Schwarber and Rizzo and Bryant, etc. Also not all GM's and Teams have the ability to spend money on add'l pieces like a Lester or Heyward when their young talent is hitting the majors. In fact, not many teams have the allure of playing at Wrigley. Just saying. We are in like year 8 of a playoff drought. Even with a tear down, IF all things went 100% great we wouldn't be back in the playoff picture for probably 3-5 years.... Yes but patching a team together isnt working. Sox are just another year closer to losing some players. They dont have the minors to replace them and dont have the budget to get free agents of quality. The cubs had a pretty much start from scratch. They didnt have the amount of major league talent like the sox do when they started to rebuild. They had to do international signings along with quality drafts to get where they are today. Plus most of their pitching was acquired be trades or free agency. Sox on the other hand have major league quality talent that if the traded for a rebuild they should be getting just close to major league talent back and in quantity in case of sale/Quintana being moved. In theory the sox should be able to bounce back hopefully quicker if they tore it down as long as the prospects work out
  7. QUOTE (Insp @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 04:17 PM) What the Sox need to do is dump Navarro and make Narvaez the full time catcher for the rest of the season. Or just move navarro to backup and let narvaez be starting to see if hes capable. Sox are thin on catching especially with Avila not being healthy they wouldn't have anyone to back up catcher if you dumped Navarro
  8. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 06:07 PM) any chance we can keep his son here? Problem is i worry about him reverting back to being not good when his son leaves. Hes having a done year and with him getting to see his son and family in cuba in the offseason and having to leave them and come back has to be playing with his emotions. Alexie would carry emotions with him in seasons and it affected him. I honestly could see the same thing for abreu. For the sake of the sox they need him to be mentally strong and preform like the player hes capable of.
  9. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 02:59 PM) A team that claims they want "to compete" and which came in last in offense last year does not pass up acquiring the very available Yoenis Cespedes and/or Ian Desmond last offseason in favor of Austin Jackson and Jimmy Rollins. I mean, enough with this "we want to compete" business already. Actions speak louder than words. Again the side effect of not spending money. Jerry wants to compete at a level hes comfortable at. They dont give out large contracts but yet again dont have a farm system to aquire the holes that need to be filled. Again you dont hear crap coming from jerry on the whole subject. Definitely dont hear much from kenny.
  10. QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Aug 7, 2016 -> 10:09 AM) I love how he mentioned that the position player development in the organization is making progress as it helped them acquire Shields and Frazier. So let me get this straight, the few decent players you did produce-- were sent off for 30+ year old veterans and that's a good thing? How is this a sign of progress within the organization? You made the weak farm system weaker and your main roster still sucks. He can spin it however he wants-- this team is in a big mess and he along with KW are the reasons why. When he took over in 2013 and started acquirering young talent-- I was like "Finally!" Then 2015 happened and he turned into KW 2.0-- I'm sorry but he needs to go. We should not accept this as a fanbase . It has been 8 freakin years. 2015 happened because they had some nice pieces and jerry couldn't sit on his hands no longer to let them keep building up. He accelerated it and wanted to compete. Problem is there were still too many holes on the roster. Keep patching things and wanting to win isnt helping and hahn is the only one to acknowledge that. Havent heard anything from kenny or jerry about it. Hell kenny didn't even know of they were buying or selling.
  11. QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 6, 2016 -> 02:45 PM) I hope Hahn has somebody in mind for manager. He shouldn't care if Robin finds out he's already looking. There's no reason to worry about offending Robin. Decide who you want as manager and announce it right after the season. This mess isn't all Robin's fault, but the dysfunctional losses and weird stretches of baseball dictate his removal. See robin is in his last year so unless he gets a extentions hes probably not back. Next hahn is probably going to do interviews and that can take some time. Plus if they have guys thats on other teams like bench coaches to interview they have to get permission from the team. Not a just hire someone and be done kinda decision. again realize jerry is probably going to have some say in it. Heck robin was offered the job and he had no previous experience and didnt want the job.

  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 4, 2016 -> 10:13 PM) That's Hahn. His acquisitions have all been ass with the exception of Melky and Robertson. Lets point out that Robertson, abreu, Eaton, melky and Frazier were all brought in under hahn. Also anderson, rodon, and fulmer were all drafted under hahn. When was the last time the sox had good drafts that their top pick were in the majors within a year 3 times in a row. Most of kennys picks under him have been busts. Most of the current core pieces are because of hahn. Hahn was given an aging team and crap of a farm system. Current team is younger. Also sales and Quintanas team friendly contracts were signed under hahn. Unfortunately i still dont think hahn has full say as gm and isnt given more money to play with cause of jerry
  14. One AL source put it this way: #WhiteSox didn't budge off price. “Waiting till winter allows more teams to plan, regroup, enter sweepstakes' https://twitter.com/CST_soxvan/status/760210564723335168
  15. I guess we should have known from kennys comments of we dont know if we are buying or selling. Pretty much sums it up
  16. The worst part is sox now get to face Santiago when playing the twins.
  17. Cant wait for the excuse for the sitting pat. Probably jerry said he wants one last run next year
  18. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 03:01 PM) New FO please New owner please
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 1, 2016 -> 02:00 PM) How many teams in major league history turned over their roster at the trade deadline? How many team have overturned their roster in 3 years and still got nothing to show for it?
  20. So duke is going to be our big move lol. Gotta keep the mired of mediocrity slogan going
  21. Hahn is probably telling Dombrowksi show me the prospects
