  1. "Charlie is a LH hitting outfielder whose speed and defensive ability enable him to do a number of things well." -- Rick Hahn https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/759759652842311680 Tilson is hitting .282 with 16 2B, eight 3B, four HR, 34 RBI, 15 SB and a .345 on-base percentage over 100 games with AAA Memphis this year. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/759759939497779200
  2. OFFICIAL: The #WhiteSox have acquired OF Charlie Tilson from St. Louis in exchange for LHP Zach Duke. https://twitter.com/whitesox/status/759759377368834049
  3. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) I'd deal Sale now and look into dealing Quintana in the offseason. The big difference between these two guys is stuff and the potential to dominate a playoff game or series. As good as Q is, if I needed a starter for a one game playoff (as the Red Sox would at the moment), it's going to be hands down Sale. The same goes for any playoff series, as Sale simply has the stuff to carry a team in October. The idea of having Sale for four post-season runs has to be incredibly attractive to the Red Sox as it fits perfect with their core of position players. Quintana, on the other hand, is the definition of durable/reliable top of the rotation starter. While he would no doubt help a team in the playoffs, his value is in his ability to greatly help a team get there. With an extra year of control and ever more team friendly contract, there should be plenty of interest in him from both large and small market teams. I would rather have as many suitors as possible, including the losers in the Sale sweepstakes, bidding on him. That requires dealing him in the offseason. Not against dealing him now if blown away, but I think you're better off putting teams against one another for Sale than having teams competing for two similar assets. The idea there can only be one winner should drive up the return. Wasnt trying to say let teams bidding for both players. Was saying when there is a bidding war for sale them and who ever loses hopefully they go for Quintana next. Yes more teams can bid in off season but sox are treating Quintana as ace as well the as they should so probably most teams wont have the resources to get him. Its going to be a limited market on both
  4. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 09:28 PM) Vazquez is indeed a wonderful pitch framer but I feel like Soxtalk will hate him for his hitting Flowers 2.0 lol
  5. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:35 AM) I wouldn't. You'd still need top end pitching talent. This is what I would do. Sale and Robertson to the Red Sox for Moncada, Benintendi, Swihart, Devers, Kopech, and Basabe. (Drive up price because Yankees now have the pieces to get a Sale trade done). Quintana to the Dodgers for Urias, De Leon, Holmes, and Calhoun. Farm system rebuilt. Not sure if you get urias for Quintana. Its been sorta reported they might forr sale but not sure the same for Quintana
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) Could the Sox theoretically have the best farm system in baseball in 30 hours if they wanted to? Depends if team start caving and up the ante for players on the sox
  7. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:36 AM) I agree, but I value those other 3 higher than Sanchez. Yes but sanchez is a catcher the sox desperately need. They tried to get him before. He will be high on their list
  8. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:18 AM) From the Yankees, I think Frazier, Severino, and Bird are must gets in any Chris Sale deal. Sanchez has to be in there
  9. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:26 AM) This is Andrew Miller trade is great news for us on the Sale front. First off, the Indians are now loaded and arguably the best team in the AL. With their pitching staff, I know I wouldn't face them in the playoffs. That has to motivate other contenders like the Red Sox, Rangers, & Astros to improve their clubs. Second, the Yankees have stacked their farm system with the Chapman & Miller trades. A deal built around Frazier (#21), Mateo (#19) or Torres (#27), Sanchez (#36), & Judge (#42) would be incredibly attractive to us. So not only do we now have another bidder in the mix who has the pieces to make Sale deal happen, this same team is also the biggest rival for the organization that we'd most like to make a deal with in the Red Sox. I know some posters here like to pretend rivalries shouldn't matter, but the reality is they do. Imagine how much the Red Sox fanbase would meltdown if the Yankees, not legit even playoff contenders, landed one of the favorites for the AL Cy Young today or tomorrow. This is the exact scenario we were hoping for all along, two teams desperately competing against one another for the same player. All we need is one of them to do something stupid. Not saying it's going to happen, but we're in a much better spot today than we were yesterday. Honestly ship one of each sale and q to one and the other. Who ever loses out on sale can have Quintana. The sox should be able to rebuild very quick
  10. BTW: after getting Torres/Frazier/Sheffield add to strong prospect base, #Yankees have pieces for Sale if #whitesox move him now/offseason https://twitter.com/Joelsherman1/status/759740753442664448 This might start bidding war for boston and yankees. Yankee were already interested in sale before and could really put them in contention with the prospects they just got
  11. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 31, 2016 -> 08:01 AM) I don't use WSDave for analysis often. But yeah, the Yankees just rebuilt their farm system with trading two relievers. Just drives up the price for sale and Quintana. Sox should be getting a haul for them
  12. BREAKING: #Brewers, #Indians in agreement on Lucroy. He still must approve trade. https://twitter.com/Ken_Rosenthal/status/759595734068932608
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 09:13 PM) @JonMorosi For now, other clubs believe Chris Sale will stay with #WhiteSox. But a lot can happen between now and 4 pm ET Monday. @MLB Not saying hoping some pitcher gets hurt but if one does on one of the contending teams could change stance quickly
  14. the mystery team on lucroy isn't on no-trade list. so, it seems like brewers have played this well. have 3+ good options. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/759552301145157632
  15. no deal yet for lucroy. obviously a lot of activity tho. mets, indians, maybe rangers, mystery teams in. https://twitter.com/JonHeyman/status/759507003198898176 I could see the sox doing something stupid. Tho hes not a rental player per say lol
  16. #Mets made no headway in Lucroy talks with #Brewers today. There's an increasing sense he won't be going to NY. https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/759505004151603200
  17. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 04:27 PM) Yep, they probably will. A front office that can't come close to .500 while "all in" probably doesn't have the chops to grab value when its available. It's becoming apparent that Hahn is to general managing what Ventura is to managing. Again hahn has 2 bosses he has to go through on making decisions. He cant go crazy and start doing stuff on his own without probably get in big trouble. Same goes for making the decision on keeping or getting rid of ventura. Has to go through his bosses
  18. Lucroy is out of lineup tonight for Brewers

  21. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks Man @ Jul 30, 2016 -> 12:31 PM) He's just one guy who only plays every five days. He currently has 28% of the white sox total wins. Sox need an ace but unfortunately they cant build a good enough team around him.
  22. http://m.whitesox.mlb.com/news/article/192.../?tcid=tw_share White Sox in listening mode
  23. I think the price would be way too high and Sale speculation has been overblown. That's just my take. https://t.co/aXqX8Bn7js https://twitter.com/jcrasnick/status/759421362712739840
