  1. Florida is 1 of the most infected places on earth and the NBA and MLS bubbles are there and doing just fine. It doesn’t matter where the bubble is, as long as it’s a bubble. LA, Chicago and NY all have 2 major league stadiums and fit the geographic requirements. Fitting the games in logistically with the 60 game schedule starting when it did probably would have been really difficult, but establishing 3 bubbles cities and starting the season in early June most likely would have been very easily accomplished. Of course that also would have required the owners and players to have genuine, reasonable and intelligent conversations from the beginning.... which we all know wasn’t going to happen.
  2. Well clearly we need to make a trade if we are serious about contending this year.
  3. Just now seeing Delmonico is in the 2 hole...F you Ricky
  4. Well thankfully the offense is great, but this could get ugly. No bummer or Marshall and probably no/very little Cischeck available out of the pen. Probably going to see multiple Detweiler innings
  5. Woulda thought EE got hit by a sniper on that bounced ball lol. Just keep tuning man
  6. Delmonico probably isn’t a major league player...hopefully that will sink in sooner rather than later
  7. Grandall rolling over a 1st pitch off speed is a killer. Need a better AB from a vet
  8. Jose has really gotta ditch this goatee ponytail thing. It’s just weird
  9. Bad D but Lucas has got to 1)locate his fastball and 2)vary his pitches more. They are jumping all over his fastball and it’s not in the right spot most of the time
  10. Bennetti is good, not great. Certainly nothing to b**** about. Especially whatever character flaws OP is dealing with and trying to project... I do agree the chemistry with him and Stone isn’t the best though. They try to play up the new school vs old school shtick too much and need to drop the banter at times. Then again, we are talking about 3 straight years of pretty horrific baseball to watch in general so it’s possible the pair will be better when the team is actually playing meaningful baseball games in a playoff hunt. Also 10x better than what Hawk was his last 5 or so years
  11. 36-24...don’t doubt this team can score 300+ runs in a 60 game season, just a matter of not letting up more than that. Cease, Lopez, G. Gonzalez, Rodon, Colome, Herrera...I can see how well the season goes hinging on those arms. Unless someone else steps up
  12. I still don’t understand why there’s no talk of adjustment by these owners. You’re telling me these guys worked their way up to being billionaire owners of sports franchises and now all they can do is just sit on their hands and cry poor? They should be trying to sell every inch of empty stadium space for advertising, creating new team products, set up a beer garden/restaurant outside the stadium during games, etc...I feel like nothing has been attempted what so ever so help the situation. Makes no sense to me
  13. Kinda hard to imagine any teams are looking to add any kind of significant salary increases at the moment.
  14. I got the complete opposite. Sounds like he knows something, but also knows he’s not supposed to say anything about the situation. But regardless, he didn’t need to say what he did at all. Coop has been around a long time and should know not to give the media anything they can run with. This just added more public speculation and gossip that I’m sure Kopech really doesn’t need
  15. 16 seems like a lot of pitchers. No thanks to Detweiler ever again. And I just don’t think Fulmer can hack it, although I understand that he will be give a shot to start the season. I’d like to see another athletic OF’er that can play D and run instead of Detweiler, but not sure that guy is ready and in the organization currently. Madrigal will take over for a P or Cuthbert eventually.
  16. I remember a lot of posts on this board like 2 years(?) ago saying we need to make a trade because we had too many good young pitchers. Fast forward 2 years... Rodon is completely unreliable Fulmer is all but a lost cause Hansen isn’t who we thought he was Dunning got hurt And guys like Adams and Stephens just didn’t pan out Obviously our MLB roster is a lot further along than it was at that time, but still way too many variables to start counting chickens
  17. To me the owners crying poor over the lost revenue from ticket sales is just lazy. Adapt or die. -Empty seats? Sounds like a ton of advertising space to me. -Fans stuck at home? Get more creative with your merchandising to target that. “At home ballpark experience bundle” (or something like that and more) -Sell more games to more networks -Have a discount sale on mlb.tv and the sales would probably skyrocket If anything the owners should be pushing to get back as soon as possible. Being the only televised sport at a time when people’s mouths are watering for any kind of sport to watch sounds like a gold mine if you ask me.
  18. Not sure how I would feel if I were a resident of AZ...hopefully things will be under control by then, but 1000’s of people suddenly flooding 1 relatively small area doesn’t seem like the best ideas in general. Guys would be coming from all of the US + other countries. I want baseball of course...I just think if they can’t play in home stadiums by July (fans or not), we are unfortunately going to be in more trouble than we realize. But I don’t think that will be the case, I think they will get at least 1/2 a season in regular stadiums
  19. Weird that Putnam seemingly never recovered from TJ...that’s pretty rare nowadays. Would be nice if he can get healthy and provide some useful innings again....obviously not even remotely counting on it
