  1. Emmanuel Rodriguez would be a very nice headliner for a Feede to Twins trade. Not sure if they part with him, but would be nice. Rodrigues and CH Culpepper? Cardinals don’t really have a headliner level hitting prospect. Trying to resurrect Walker’s swing doesn’t interest me at all. We have a history of making hitters worse if anything.
  2. Yeah I don’t buy it for a second either. But even if it were the case, selling the team is a pretty damn easy solution. It’s not like The Sox are a passion project for Jerry, take your billion + and ride off into the sunset if you’re truly losing $. Also, a crazy idea…develop a decent business model to field a winning team. The idea that you can’t profit off of owning The Sox in Chicago is ridiculous. Jerry just sucks at it. Jerry complaining about not being able to make $ owning the White Sox is equivalent to opening up a pizza place that only serves DiGiorno and wondering why your business is failing.
  3. Not trading Fedde would be a colossal failure. He has no future on a contending White Sox team and his value will never be higher. I don’t care if the return is consider underwhelming, he has to be moved.
  4. Got an excuse for the rest of his season? Time to accept that Eder probably just isn’t good.
  5. Wanting to stay a starter is extremely reasonable Being on an inning limit given his career thus far is also reasonable Saying you can’t pitch into the postseason…unless you pay me…is not reasonable. Either it’s a big risk and he shouldn’t do it or it’s not. Attaching a $ amount to that risk is dumb and would for sure turn me off if I was a GM thinking about giving up a haul of prospects for Crochet.
  6. So Crochet refuses to do anything but start, but also wants to be paid more if you want him to start? Sounds like a solid way to kill your trade value. His agent is dumb. The message should be “Garett will do anything you want, just please god get him away from the White Sox organization.”
  7. Keeping Robert scares the hell out of me honestly. He’s volatile with his consistency to hit the ball and ability to stay healthy. I understand not wanting to sell low, but there is also the possibility this isn’t his lowest
  8. I’m the opposite. I’m not worried about Crochet having success next year, his stuff is too good. And it seems like pretty much every pitcher is an injury risk at this point, I don’t think that’s as big of a worry as others are making it out to be. Robert on the other hand…if he doesn’t get off to a hot start next year there’s suddenly going to be a fairly large sample size of not being a good hitter. I think his value would drop a lot. Plus there’s just as good of a chance he gets hurt as Crochet.
  9. I don’t think Getz has the luxury of waiting on a Fedde trade. I highly doubt his value will ever be higher than it is right now. Cooper Hjerpe from the Cards would be fun to get and very fitting for the franchise.
  10. Are that many baseball players really getting NIL $? I’m sure the top guys in the draft are getting paid, but is a 3rd rounder from a non SEC school really getting paid any kind of significant $ through NIL that it’s affecting their future decision making? Maybe I’m way off, but it just feels like college baseball is such an after thought that it’s hard to imagine a ton of NIL $ being pumped in outside of maybe like 10-15 schools
  11. Mehh it was a terrible pick from the beginning and most knew it. He’s a 2B with mediocre power that had a dead pull lefty approach as if he was Adam Dunn. Sure, we suck at developing hitters, but that 1 had no shot from the start. Also, Eder is cooked. Give up him being a starter and see if he can be useful as a 1 inning lefty reliever
  12. No issue with the pick at all. Would have been perfectly fine with any of Cags, Smith or Burns.
  13. Might not be popular, but I’m taking 1 of the pitchers (Smith or Burns) over Griffin…or any hitter besides the top 4. I know it doesn’t fit the needs of the franchise, but I just think they are superior prospects. With the state of the franchise I’d still be in the mode of “get all the best talent available and sort it out later.” Don’t force a pick just because it’s a hitter
  14. I’m fine taking Cags at 5. It’s just not a strong draft class and he at least has 1 elite tool with his lefty power. Also, I’ve seen it floated around, but is there any reason Cags couldn’t play RF? He’s not a bad athlete and clearly has the arm strength for it.
  15. Sounds like a delicious sandwich
  16. My issue with trading Crochet now is my concern that a contending team can’t trade for Crochet thinking they have a TOR arm for the entirety of the 2nd 1/2 and playoffs. I just don’t see a way Chrochet is able to throw that many innings. Obviously he has plenty of value beyond the next few months, but typically you can capitalize on the best value when a team is desperate at the deadline. Of course there’s also the risk that Crochet is currently having what could be his career year and he’ll never have this high of value again.
  17. I don’t think it’s going to be a ton of moves as everyone is predicting. I can see it being just Feede, Kopech and Pham. Pulling off 6/7+ trades in the next 24 days seems like a tall task for Getz.
  18. I don’t know if (relatively minor) leg injuries take away your ability to make contact with a baseball. I think it’s like 90% mental for TA. Don’t want to go as far to say I feel bad for him, but it does suck to see. The guy was damn near on the top of the world hitting that walk off at the field of dreams game and in less than 3 years he can’t find a job. Sports are crazy
  19. Combined no-hitter watch for the Cannon Ballers going into the 9th.
  20. At least Burger proved to be a fluke…but Eder is starting to look like a lost cause as well. He’ll be 26 in a few months and he’s still struggling in AA. Is it time to cut bait with him as a starter and just see if he can hack it as a lefty reliever?
  21. Also have to mention the $142M pay roll. I know Getz inherited a few bad contracts, but can’t just ignore that we have this bad of a roster with a middle of the league payroll
  22. Was just thinking that. Is there a counter that compares our # of roster moves Vs the rest of the league? Feel like Getz is doing the most literal example of “shuffling the chairs on the Titanic” ever.
  23. Yeah this is dumb. Leave the actual prospects alone and far away from the toxic pit that is the White Sox.
  24. Not saying he will have a ton of value if he doesn’t start to pitch better…but I’d imagine there’s a decent # of teams looking at Kopech and thinking they can “fix” him if he gets away from the Sox. Or at least that would be my thinking. Maybe I’m jaded and overly negative, but it’s hard for me to not think some of our guys would have succeeded in a different organization.
  25. https://www.fangraphs.com/players/rafael-ortega/10323/stats?position=OF Just another 30+ year old bad journeyman. Getz is shuffling the chairs on the Titanic full of guys trying to hang on to a baseball career for dear life
