I'm starting to lean towards Mclanahan. Lefty that can throw 95+ with pretty good movement and command that already has a good feel for a change-up? Yes please. The mechanics and breaking pitch can be perfected. I see his ceiling as probably the highest of anyone we will have a shot at.

As a sixers fan I fully understand the process and even supported it. Unfortunately baseball doesn’t work the same way. It will be a never ending process if the Sox are building through the draft only. They need to continue to add as much talent as possible, whenever possible. Speeding up the process isn’t a bad thing lol. Basketball works because you can draft a franchise changing player that makes an immediate impact, that’s more than likely not going to happen in baseball. I’m 100% behind a rebuild, but it’s already year 2 and there isn’t an end in thought, let alone in sight. If the front office sits around and let’s all prospects develop and draft picks come up it’s going to be a decade long process. Minimum

Bad weather and bad defense in both starts for Giolito. Just great for a young pitcher... -

The Jason Benetti and Sox Announcing Thread
TheFutureIsNear replied to chitownsportsfan's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I get the criticism of a few too many jokes...some of which are definitely very lame. But overall I think Jason does a perfectly fine job. Is he one of the better play by play guys in baseball? No definitely not, but he’s not bad either. But then again I thought Hawk was borderline unbearable the past 2 years so I’m probably in the minority. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2018 -> 08:11 PM) Been fine tonight. Had been doing a good job of not throwing down the plate until this inning Guess I should have qualified the comment with...for a former top 10 pick. Not that his stuff is bad...just fairly ordinary -

Obviously the D isn't helping...but is it me or is Fulmer's stuff really not that good? -

This interview isn't working...just end it already -
4 might be too high but I really like Tristan Pompey. Switch hitter with good eye/approach to go along with above average power and speed. And he has a frame that suggests he’ll only get bigger and stronger. I think he projects to a 20/20 guy with good D in LF who should be able maintain a good avg and obp

Why the F was Farquhar left out there???

QUOTE (soxfan49 @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 09:39 PM) People keep bringing up trading Abreu. If they trade him, you have to ask for a top 10 prospect and then some. He’s great Top 10 in all of baseball or organizational top 10? Top 10 in baseball I doubt, maybe top 50. But I’m asking for multiple top 10 from a single team no doubt.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 09:26 PM) You're probably the same guy that gets butt hurt over a TD dance in football. How about you just sit Donaldson's ass on the bench instead of putting him on base. Nope, td celebrations are great. But if you choose to celebrate in an outwardly disrespectful way you better keep yourself head on a swivel because a safety or linebacker is going to try and take your head off. Fastball in the ribs is the equivalent. I miss the days of when a pitcher could actually be an intimidator in baseball. You’re probably the same guy that’s wants less contact in sports and more participation trophies. Back on topic: Jose is still great

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 09:17 PM) Meh. Sox homered right after him and got the last laugh. I just don't mind some trash talk. Ya let's hit the f***ing guy because he blew a whistle? Get over yourself. Hitting a guy in the ribs is a part of baseball. Get over yourself

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Apr 2, 2018 -> 09:10 PM) Daryl Boston and some guys laughed at Donaldson. Sometimes people in baseball are too uptight. The look on Donaldson's face wasn't a joke...it was him being a d bag. Just because a few guys laughed doesn't mean it wasn't a deliberate attempt of disrespect by Donaldson. I'll be surprised if he doesn't end up with a baseball in the ribs at some point in the season

Good job Yolmer
-
Overall a nice job by Lopez...national championship starts now but I'm tempted to leave the Sox on in the hopes some one in the pen takes Donaldson's head off
-
Yolmer accidentally made that play trying not to die...just kidding, nice play ...only sorta kidding tho
-
What the....
-
Jose is flat out 1 of the best pure hitters in baseball...don't care what anyone says
-
Ok...sorry Tim Anderson.
-
Dont love the call of a low slider on 3-2 to Grichick.
-
Do him a favor and call it an error...even tho it really was
-
Tim Anderson demonstrating exactly to never field a ground ball...keep doing that and it will be an error sooner rather than later
