  1. QUOTE (Tony @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 08:23 PM) On just 70 pitches. Yep, I noticed that too. Dude is throwing peas, not baseballs. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 08:24 PM) Hansen throwing strikes. 70 pitches with 49 for strikes. It's amazing how fast he's turned things around.

  3. Ashe homers for Charlotte Dedelow homers for GF
  4. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 08:10 PM) Hansen thru 4 scoreless 5 scoreless with just 1BB and 8 K's.
  5. QUOTE (soxforlife05 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 07:25 PM) Agree with this. Don't start giving big money to FA's or other players in trades until we know where our holes are on the roster when all the young guys are up. Exactly. It's going to take time to develop players and then acclimate to the majors. Curious how the Giants are interested in Stanton given their payroll projection for next year is 225M. That number is based on current contract and arbitration estimates for next season. https://www.baseball-reference.com/teams/SF...contracts.shtml
  6. Hansen looking good so far. 3IP 3H 0R 1BB 4K
  7. Jacob May flexing his muscles with a HR. Charlotte up 1-0
  8. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 06:54 PM) Sox will be better suited waiting to give Harper or Machado offers. You know KW has one of them in his sights. Pass on Stanton. Wait for Machado and Harper. Hard pass on all three. Harper and Machado will be in the same boat as Stanton once they get their contracts. Would rather use that money over the next five years or so to start locking up some of the young players long term. Would also leave money to fill multiple holes through free agency when the time comes.
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 06:36 PM) If we take on that contract, I am not willing to give up anything of value... at all. As good as Stanton has been, agreed. Not interested in paying a 27 year old approximately 295M for the next 10 years. http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/miami-marlins/g...o-stanton-6864/
  10. Machi mowing em down in Charlotte. Call that kid up!
  11. Now this is interesting. Wonder what Stanton's value is with that contract.
  12. Charlotte is just getting started with Machi on the hill. Tenn at Birmingham 7:05 CT Hansen pitching GF at Missoula 8:05CT Agar pitching AZL A's at AZL Sox 9:00CT no pitcher listed Edit: checked the lineups and Hansen is listed as the starting pitcher for Birmingham.

  14. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 12:55 PM) Q was suppose to go to Pittsburgh, Cutch to NYY, and prospect (Rutherford possibly) to CHW. If you connect the dots between Brian's (RaBBit) tweets on 12/23 and later Rick Hahn's comments about a Christmas Eve deal, yes, it appears it was nearly completed. Beat me to it.
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 28, 2017 -> 12:43 PM) Wait, the Sox had a deal in place for Q to the NYY? I had never heard that before. I think that was the rumored three way between the Sox, Yanks and Pirates. Great write-up Rob, really enjoyed the read. Sounds like Rutherford has the right attitude to go with his confidence.
  16. Stone and Benetti spoke briefly about Collins' during Saturday nights game. They said Collins had spoke with the Sox about the hitch in his swing and he basically asked the Sox if he could wait on fixing the hitch until the off-season. Collins didn't want to do it mid season, which the Sox were fine with.
  17. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 26, 2017 -> 09:14 PM) 0% chance? That's pretty doubtful. There's a chance they get Machado. It's going to take alot to go right in '18 to entice either player to sign long term with a rebuilding team like the Sox. Plus, there will be competition from other teams that will have money to spend. The bidding will be ridiculous for both players.
  18. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Aug 26, 2017 -> 07:36 PM) Glad to see someone else was annoyed Like elrockin, I like Benetti but good grief Benetti is talking some Minority Report type stuff.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Aug 26, 2017 -> 07:31 PM) I like Jason but he just can't drop this getting hit in the head issue. Getting a bit ridiculous Yeah, I just can't wrap my head around it. Interestingly enough Petricka almost hit a batter in the head not long after Benetti said that.
  20. Was hoping he would make it to Birmingham by seasons end. He's had one hell of first season in pro ball.
  21. Eloy 3-3. Are pitchers throwing this guy beach balls. Mercy.
  22. Good grief Benetti, make a rule that suspends a pitcher if he accidentally hits a batter in the head? Stone saves the day and squashes that stupid idea.
  23. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 26, 2017 -> 06:41 PM) http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20170826 Your welcome everyone. For the save!
  24. I've really enjoyed watching MiGo tonight. Nice double Sally!
  25. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Aug 25, 2017 -> 08:28 PM) Very nice. Can't wait to see Cease with a full year in our org next season (and with his arm built up). I messed up, Cease had 2ER, oops. Yeah, Cease should be another fun arm to follow next year. What I like most about his start was his pitches/strikes (90/64 ) in tonight's game. Dude was throwing peas!
