  1. Surprised nobody claimed MiGo. Was hoping he could land on a contender to get a chance at the post season.
  2. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:06 PM) lol, why? Who cares. Only those who cling to the past. With names like Moncada, Jimenez, Lopez, Hansen, Giolito, Burger, Sheets, Dunning etc in the system, I could care less what happens to a majority of who the Sox have traded.
  3. What did people think was going to happen after trading so many bullpen pieces? Sorry but games like last night should be expected. Or did people really think that Bummer/Minaya/Petricka would be able to replace Swarzak/Kahnle/Robertson that easily?
  4. Hoping tonight is victory #1 of many more to come for El Rey in a Sox uni. Only 7 hours to go! Ugh...
  5. Too many contenders could use a guy like MiGo which makes guessing kinda tough. Uh, f*** it, I'll say the Twinkies because the other good guesses have already been taken.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 17, 2017 -> 12:39 AM) LOL you started a new Delmonico thread ? I just posted in the old one which had dropped to the 2nd page. Frankly I thought this thread was about Moncada Got me too. Have to keep an eye on that Jose Abreu fella. Delmonico looks great at the plate so far. Really like his bat speed and that swing looks awesome when he's sitting on a pitch, very sweet swing. Don't know what to expect from him so I'll just sit back and enjoy the ride. IMHO, the next Sox contender will probably need some help from a few current roster players, maybe Delmonico is one of them? We'll see.
  7. Thanks for confirming what I've suspected for the last few years. I'm still surprised JR went through with the rebuild. If I were an 81 year old team owner, I wouldn't want to rebuild. Kudos to JR for doing the right thing.
  8. MiGo pitched well , Anderson homered and that's the extent of your White Sox highlights.
  9. Petricka doing his part to help the '18 draft position. As s***ty as the Sox are that Philly team is going to be tough to catch.
  10. MiGo looking good so far. I'll be surprised if he's still wearing a Sox uni when September 1St comes around.
  11. Have to agree with JR. Let Ozzie keep doing commercials for his lawyer friend.
  12. QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 10:17 AM) I think Gio and Kopech are up once the Sox secure the extra year of control. I'd be tempted to let Kopech start the year in the Sox rotation Kopech's IP: 2015 - 65 , 2016- 78.2. 2017- 119.1 Kopech needs one more season to build up those innings which I'm guessing the 2018 target to be around 160-175. Depending on how many innings Kopech pitches for Charlotte next year, I can see the Sox calling him up in September if he's got some innings to spare.
  13. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 11:32 AM) Where's the money going? Is it not lining the chairman's pockets? The payroll will be so low that they better spend spend spend a few years from now, or they better have some fantastic giveaways and events at the park next year Well, the Sox did spent a couple of bucks on Luis Robert, so there's that. Same question was asked by the fans of the cubs and Astros while they were rebuilding. Both GM's, like Hahn, said they would spend when the time came and they did. The Sox have to wait a few years to see what prospects pan out so they know what holes to plug through FA or trades. As other have pointed out, it's likely sign scrap heaps to flip mid season and probably the same for the '18/'19 winter off season. None of the big name free agents will desire signing with the Sox during a rebuild. Two years from now that could change after some of these prospects have come up and established themselves. Moncada and Lopez are already up generating a buzz. Hell, Delmonico has made a bit noise. Wait til names like Jimenez, Kopech, Hansen, Giolito and Burger make their way up. The team will look alot more tantalizing to free agents. Sorry, fans have non choice but to ride this out because like it or not it's happening and going to take some time. Not good for those used to instant self gratification.
  14. QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Aug 15, 2017 -> 06:43 AM) You're as big of a troll as greg now... The trolling has gotten bad. I think the tinfoil hats are causing short circuits.
  15. Sell off Get for what, exactly? He isn't worth anything.
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Aug 13, 2017 -> 06:31 PM) Some of you goons just don't know what a rebuild is. They'll spend on FA when they're ready to win. That's definitely not next year and might not be 2019, though the latter year is where you expect to see some legitimate improvements. Yeah, this.
  17. I'm hoping for about 3 or 4 that could go 1-1. Let's say the Sox scouting likes the #3 ranked prospect, there's a chance at getting their guy underslot because their guy isn't the clear #1. The more options the better for the Sox.
  18. Meh, let Kopech spend the '18 season in Charlotte to continue building up his innings. If all goes well I can see calling him up next September to work out of the pen and then pencil him into the rotation to start the '19 season.
  19. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 08:18 PM) Great turn. Cheers blacksox. You must respect the streak, keep toking!
  20. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 12, 2017 -> 03:40 PM) Well usually I smoke a nice fat bowl to unwind after work and tonight will be no different! I have to say this is the most fun I've had following the Sox (the last couple weeks since Moncada came up and now with Rodon and ReyLo as well) probably since the 2006 team. Even though the 2006 season ended too early it was still a ton of fun watching that offense. Even though this Sox team sucks ass and features losers like Shields it's so much fun, much moreso than I imagined really, watching the losses pile up while a few of the next generation show out like ReyLo, Rodon and Moncada. Hell, it's been enjoyable just watching bit younger guys like Avi, Engel, Leury and Yolmer hold their own and in some cases excel. TA has really been the only bitter pill this year imo but hopefully he can finish strong and put this year behind him. Well right on. Been enjoying the hell out of Sox baseball too. Great to see young guys playing good ball. I'll have to skip the bowl part though, I'm more of a Fred Flintstone type.
