QUOTE (TheTruth05 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 04:37 PM) Very much +1 to this.Hansen is legit and I think him and Kopech have all the talent needed to anchor our rotation for a long time with a very good Lopez behind them. I second that on Hansen. The Hansen were seeing now is the highly touted version before the 2016 college season began. There was hype about him being a potential 1-1 pick.

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 02:32 PM) Not talking smack, just curious how someone values Dunning over Lopez. Lopez has been fantastic at Charlotte, which is the best hitters park in the league. He also has plus stuff and is only 23 years old. I feel like he's constantly overlooked in the system, even being a top 50 prospect. He's all of 9 months older than Hansen and 11 months older than Dunning. I think he will be a hell of a #2 to Kopech for years to come with the Sox. I would say... 1. Kopech(easy) 2. Lopez 3. Hansen (slight) 4. Giolito (debatable, I'm in the Coop will fix em camp) 5. Cease 6. Dunning 7. Guerrero 8. Adams ... 37. Ballpark Vendor 55. Pat Daneker 79. Carson Fulmer In all seriousness, it's an abundance of riches. Even Guerrero at #7 has a good shot as a #3/#4 rotation lefty. Great post but you're looking too far into mine. I wasn't speaking in terms of value, just giddiness from a fans perspective about Kopech/Hansen/Dunning.

I think the point being missed on Davidson is if we take a look beyond his HR's, there's nothing impressive in the rest of his stats. However, the Sox are rebuilding so giving Davidson playing time will hurt nobody or hinder anyone's development. Davidson's future doesn't have to be decided now, that will be decided by Davidson with how he performs over the next year or two. In a perfect world, Davidson get his playing to build value and when Burger is ready Davidson gets moved for pieces to fill holes on the next Sox contender.

This is a good trade for both teams that makes sense. Gray has injury concerns but so does two of the three prospects heading to Oakland. If Garcia and Gray can give the Yanks the pitching boost they need, with that offense, the rest of the league better look out. Damn Yankees are looking dangerous right now.

QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 31, 2017 -> 11:06 AM) I know not many people agree but I'm still of the opinion that Hansen is our 2nd best pitching prospect even with just being in WS. Kid is a monster. Cheers to that. Nothing against Lopez/Giolito/Fulmer but Kopech/Hansen/Dunning are the pitchers I'm most excited about. Really like Clarkin alot too.

QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jul 30, 2017 -> 09:13 PM) Cashman feels that his window is just beginning, unlike Epstein knowing the cubs window is now and the next couple seasons. Hence not surrendering his top prospects that he cannot afford to deal. Right and this approach is much different than the Yanks of old when they were more than eager to trade talent for proven veterans.

Cubs acquire Avila & J. Wilson from DET
BlackSox13 replied to LittleHurt05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
So the cubs acquired a Cajun cook and the brother of a tradesman? Hmm, rather odd move for a baseball team. -
Why is it when I look at Davidson's numbers I think of him as a younger Trumbo Lite? Low BA, high K's and loads of power. I say let Davidson play 3B as much as possible. Some team might see value in a young cost controlled 3B with power and some years of control left. It's possible Davidson could bring back a decent haul a year from now. Hell, it's even possible Davidson mashes enough to be the future DH/1B. Nice thing is that his future doesn't have to be decided just yet. Davidson is the best 3B option until Burger is ready so let him play 3r and see what happens.

Hansen's line looks great so far and against a good team. 43 pitches with 33 of those being strikes.

Would be nice to see Madison throw a gem tonight against the Dodgers.

Premium 91 octane FB for the K!

This has Tyler Clippard loss written all over it.

Kanny puts up 10 and Burger is 0-5. I love baseball.

Never had a problem with Melky and wish him well. Like the arms coming back to the Sox. Nice trade.
-
Moncada has a hell of an eye for a 21 year old. Give him more time to hone that eye as well get used to the pitchers in the league and he will be an absolute beast. Ha ha, can't wait til Moncada has guys like Jimenez and Burger batting around him in the lineup.
-
Cashman has done a good job of getting his team help while not giving up top prospects. It's going to take some time to get used to their new approach.
-
Granted he's slumping in his sophomore season but I think the Sox have done well with TA so far. TA was a good talent coming out of the draft but not in the same tier as Robert, Collins, Rutherford, Jimenez etc. The Sox have gotten TA to the big leagues so I like their chances in developing what they have on the farm.
-
This is where I miss Rollins. He was a good influence on Tim last year in ST and was like a mentor to Tim, IIRC.
-
Hostetler said the '18 draft is very deep so I'm not really concerned about position since it looks like a top 3 pick is almost assured. The Sox will end up having plenty of talent to choose from.
-
Not one HR in that Kanny lineup and yet seven runs have crossed the plate. That's run manufacturing baby.

Danish with a lil bit of a rough start. Can Peter play SS?

QUOTE (KnightsOnMintSt @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 03:16 PM) Interesting night for arms. Really interested to see how Clarkin does. Same here. I remember drooling over his curve ball a few years ago before he was injured. Watch out for this kid if the Sox can keep him healthy.

QUOTE (Quin @ Jul 28, 2017 -> 02:44 PM) SoxTalk: Brinson or bust Child's play. The Yanks need a starter so we're going to start with Torres and settle for Frazier, if we must.
-
Don't blame the Yanks one bit. I'd balk at that price too. If the Yanks weren't giving up either for Q then it makes sense they wouldn't do it for Gray. Nothing wrong with trying I suppose. Price might be missing his start tonight. Still thnk MiGo makes a ton of sense for Boston. Yanks too.

Will Eloy Jimenez get to AA this year?
BlackSox13 replied to KnightsOnMintSt's topic in FutureSox Board
Yep, let the kids develop. All goes well we could be looking at Jimenez and Burger in May of '19 with, hopefully, Rutherford, Sheets and maybe even Adolfo to follow later and in the season. Bringing back the South Side Hitmen!
