  1. None of the above. It's a rebuild so just about everyone is fair game if the price is right. Wait, Caulfield did you really put Hawkins on that list?
  2. QUOTE (SCCWS @ Jun 17, 2017 -> 08:39 AM) Boston will not trade for Q. They already have 4 lefthanded starters. If they do trade it will be a for RH or swap lefty for righty. I agree but Boston being in the pitching market should apply pressure on the first place Yankees, who also needs pitching. Boston and NYY have always tried to out do one another through trades and FA signing. If Boston goes out and trades for a starter, you can bet the Yanks will follow suit and have the prospects to easily bring back something better than Boston will get. Those two teams live for competing against one another, on and off the field.
  3. Great game. Q gets run support and shows he can shut down an ALE team. NY/Boston, I hope you watched the highlights.
  4. QUOTE (Buehrlesque @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 03:28 PM) Just what I was thinking. I liked Buehrler back before he had TJS. Calhoun can hit, but you have to wonder where he'd play with the Sox. Full-time DH? Is he as bad defensively in LF as he is at 2B? I don't know much about Calhoun's defense ( I should read up on that) other than its not good. If Calhoun's power is legit then I would be fine with having the shortest DH in the league.
  5. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 02:34 PM) Can't do that anymore. A draft pick cannot be traded or a PTBNL until after the World Series of his draft year. Thanks for clarifying. Wasn't sure if that was part of the changes.
  6. Oh man is the pressure on Rizzo. There's really no choice but for Rizzo to accept that going to get bent over in trades to get that team help. Sure, Rizzo can try trading for more Albers types but he will need a solid closer as well as at least one set up arm and those are going to leaves Rizzo with the sensation of being reamed, again. The Sox had their eye on Crowe until the Nat's snatched him up. Wouldn't mind if a trade changed his name to 'ptbnl' until the season is over.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 15, 2017 -> 12:05 PM) 3 relievers in the top 10 is pretty awful. I get they are going to try starting them, but I haven't been very encouraged at our results at doing it. Sounds ike the Sox strategy in taking relievers is based on the low mileage on their arms. Makes sense with the Sox rebuilding but I think we would be seeing a different strategy if this were 2016. Amazing how much has changed in one year.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 08:26 PM) Guerrero has been pretty awesome 7 out of his last 8 starts. This is more like the 2015 Guerrero.
  9. Look at Collins' numbers on the season. Low BA, High K's/BB's and hits bombs. I'm not saying its a bad thing but it looks like an Adam Dunn stat line. Which, as starved for power as the Sox are, I'd happily take.
  10. Davidson: low BB high K's Burger: high BB low K's Yeah, that pick sucks.
  11. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 11:53 AM) 2019 is too optimistic in my opinion. I'd say 2020 ETA is realistic for Burger and/or Sheets. Yeah, I don't know enough about them but if the talent is there, I suppose it's possible one or both could be ready after two years in the minors. I was figuring the 2020 season but I'll happily take mid '19 too.
  12. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 13, 2017 -> 11:42 AM) He said that he could likely handle Kannapolis but might need some seasoning initially in Great Falls. I bet he finishes the year in Kannapolis and begins next year at Winston Salem. Middle of 2019 trajectory. Damn, is he expected to move that quick?
  13. Really like the Sox new outlook on drafting obp and power guys. Looking forward to seeing what their third pick will be.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 07:33 PM) Kevin Millar?? I'll gladly take Kevin Millar. I was hoping for White but I'm fine with the Burger pick and the Millar comp. Should be interesting to see what he ends up signing for.
  15. QUOTE (Knackattack @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 07:14 PM) Can't say I would mind having Burger and Beer on a couple jerseys at the very least haha I made a joke about that in one of the FS threads. Last year we drafted Jameson, this year Burger and with the way the Sox are playing this year we may add a Beer to that menu next year.
  16. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 07:06 PM) Hello, Evan White. Let's hope so.
  17. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 04:45 PM) That's what I'm worried about for Haseley - not Kendall. Trout didn't have a history in college or high school of high strike out rates to harp on and missing out on Beni just plain sucked. If Haseley doesn't fall I really hope the Sox go after White. Unless something else falls into their lap @ #11, what I have no idea. QUOTE (bmags @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 04:51 PM) I just remember the rage after sox passed on Porcello. Pretty sure I was not happy at the time either but I more ticked about KW passing on Porcello because of Boras, or at least that's what I suspected. Sox found a use for Poreda in southern California so it worked out in the end.
  18. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jun 12, 2017 -> 04:29 PM) I'm beginning to worry the Sox pass on Kendall only for him to become another Trout situation (not actually becoming Mike Trout, but posters raging about it for years) yep, better hope like hell some team(s) ahead of the Sox cuts an underslot deal or two so that somebody falls to the Sox. Man, I hope this doesn't turn out like Benintendi where we missed by just one draft slot.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jun 1, 2017 -> 04:03 PM) I think almost all will be gone, it probably won't be in bunches though. So far Hahn seems to want to avoid bundling players. The Q rumors will be interesting. With Q's value down a bit from winter, I wouldn't be surprised if interested GM's try to get Hahn to include another player with Q to help offset Hahn's high asking price.
  20. Like him or not, Hawk is a White Sox legend and that's coming from someone that has not listened to Hawk in a long time. I've enjoyed many beers through the years watching the Sox and listening to Hawk. We're gonna miss him when he's gone. Luckily for us it looks like we have another legend in the making with Stoney.
