  1. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 25, 2016 -> 08:38 AM) If they sign Trumbo (and maybe Wieters) I think it's possible. All-in mode. I think they are definitely going for just by adding Desmond to an already powerful offense. With too many outfielders and a need for pitching, if they signed Wieters we could go after Rodgers/Dahl/Murphy for Q + (Jennings)?
  2. My baseball Christmas wish this year is for the Rockies to come outta nowhere and offer the Sox a trade package headlined by Rodgers. Please Santa!
  3. Meh, hi8is is just having some fun and don't mean nothing by it. He's just a happy little nugget wrapped in some quilted Northern. He's a peaceful lil' poop.
  4. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) Pirates fans have seemed very skeptical about a deal actually happening. Thats why about a week ago I said I wouldn't be shocked if we didn't deal with Pit despite it actually making sense. Not without dealing McCutchen first. I think it works better as: team A deals multiple prospects for McCutchen and then Pirates deal for Q as opposed to trying to make sense of a 3-way. Agreed. On paper a trade with Pitt makes sense but after taking everything into consideration I think Sox and Pirates fans are wasting their time and words on the trade possibility. Huntington really comes across as " we want that guy Q, he's really good, but not good enough to give up one of Meadows/Bell and our tight asses must trade Cutch first to make payroll space despite signing free agent pitchers Hudson/Nova". Just doesn't add up. Somewhere in all this, Huntington is flat out full of s***.
  5. If the Pirates budget is that tight and they really want Q, then why didn't they didn't they trade for Q before they signed Hudson and Nova? With the outfield depth the Yanks have, why on earth would they want McCutchen when they need pitching? Oh, and Huntington wants Q but doesn't want to part with Meadows or Bell? Can't help but think Huntington is full of s*** so is his interest in Q. None of this adds up to the Pirates being serious about Q.
  6. QUOTE (reiks12 @ Dec 24, 2016 -> 06:33 AM) Wake up everyone! Lol, in the process of it. Downing coffee as I type this post. Ready for another day of wait and see.
  7. Good reads and thanks for posting this. As good as Hansen is, just imagine how much more effective he would be if he learned to throw a cutter to help keep the ball off the barrel of left handed hitters. Good grief, lol. Giolito @ 6'6"/ Hansen @ 6'7" and then the possibility of adding Glasnow @ 6'8".
  8. Wonder if the Sox agree to take Freese and his contract in return for an additional prospect being added to the trade. Not sure that would be enough salary relief for Pitt.
  9. Praying for a Christmas miracle that the Astros come back with a solid counter-offer after seeing the latest names being thrown around in the Pirates rumors. Edit: couldn't choose between Rutherford and Tucker. Would be equally happy with either. No, I'd be jumping for fricken joy!
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 03:43 PM) If they are willing to give up McCutchen instead to get more prospects from the Yankees, more power to them. I am not particular about where the kids come from, but I am particular about getting a big haul for Q. If that means getting guys like Andujar and Rutherford from the Yankees instead, cool. That's what I'm saying. If the third team isn't likely then McCutchen stays put, and they do not want to part with Bell or Meadows, it's hard to see how the Pirates can pull that off. What would make sense is if the Mets are the third team. The Mets were rumored to be interested in McCutchen and Robertson plus they have quality prospects. A three way between the Sox, Mets and Pirates makes much more sense.
  11. The Pirates do not want to part with Meadows or Bell, the three team isn't likely to happen and the Pirates need to move salary in order to take on Q's. Yet, the Pirates are still pushing to get a deal done, how?
  12. Starting to wonder if the NY team is the Mets, not Yanks. A three way between the Sox, Mets and Pirates makes much more sense and would account for the lag to due so many moving parts. Something along the lines of the Mets getting Cutch/Roberson, Pirates get Q, Sox get Glasnow, Bell, Nimmo, Newman and or Keller.
  13. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 11:38 AM) Same. I'm not a huge fan of Andujar, but as a 4th piece, he's fine. Ideally, I'd like Keller or Meadows/Bell though. Yeah, ideally I'd like to see something headlined by Meadows or Bell with Rutherford, Newman and Keller filling the rest rest of the deal.
  14. I'd be really happy if the return was Glasnow, Rutherford, Newman and Andujar.
  15. QUOTE (Sleepy Harold @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 09:47 AM) Brian Bilek ‏@BrianBilek_ #WhiteSox are in trade talks on a "complex" deal they want to get done by Christmas. Nothing finalized but names & scope of deal are fluid. 7:45 AM - 23 Dec 2016 Brian Bilek ‏@BrianBilek_ 3 way trade would entail Quintana to #Pirates, McCucthen to #Yankees and a package of prospects that's headlined by Glasnow to #WhiteSox. Brian Bilek ‏@BrianBilek_ Outside of Glasnow, #WhiteSox would receive some combo of Mitch Keller, Blake Rutherford, Kevin Newman, Miguel Andujar & Elias Diaz. 7:46 AM - 23 Dec 2016 some raBBit bombs link This is how it's down! Thanks for posting this and thanks to raBBt for sharing.
  16. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 09:53 AM) In the pic of the video with "the gum incident" he looks like a divorced car salesman who's desperate to make a sale lol Ike the shady character Kurt Russell played in the movie Used Cars?
  17. QUOTE (SoCalSox @ Dec 23, 2016 -> 09:46 AM) You're going to discount one bad piece of info & ignore the multiple other things he broke like the Shields trade & the Anderson call up? It's amazing how everyone praises him when he breaks something people love him but then when they get antsy about info, they turn on him. Shields was a typical Sox move that a blind man from another dimension could have predicted. Anderson's call up was easy to predict because everyone knew the Sox signed Rollins to work with Tim on his defense as well as to hold SS so the Sox could wait on the callup to be the exgra year of control. Your examples further back up what I'm saying. Also not going to take trade rumors serious from a guy that loves to post the most random and meaninglsss nonsense. Pizza plug from his favorite spot down the street, how drunk he got last night or about the size of the dump he took this morning. Yep, he's a good source alright.
  18. After last year's Sox and free agent rumors, I believe nothing WSD has to say ( Cespedes 6/135M!) Just an attention whore that's full of s***. I fail to see how a festive reference ( as funny as it may be) correlates to a Q trade happening today. Here a fresh article from Fox speculating the Astros could still be in on Q. I suggest Sox fans read this to help remove WSD's nonsense from their minds. http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/jose-qu...n-astros-122316
  19. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 11:07 PM) Not sure man. Maybe "if it ain't broke..." is the way they will approach this guy. Plus the Sox have quite a bit of quality SP depth to groom Burdi to be Andrew Miller on steroids. I'd kinda like to see that- could quickly become a fan favorite if that materializes. QUOTE (ptatc @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 11:15 PM) They may do it but just to get more reps and work on pitches. Just curious because the idea was out there when he was first drafted.
  20. With the Sox rebuilding is there a chance they give Burdi a chance as a starter in the minors?
  21. More Quintana love from the Pirates fan base. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2683414...quintana-splash
  22. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 10:18 PM) Makes me skeptical. I get what you mean although I'm feeling more suspicious. Calm before the storm. Feels like there's alot of pressure building around a Q trade and it's about to burst. Edit: it's like Merkin and Nightengale are purposely staying quiet for a reason.
  23. QUOTE (Con te Giolito @ Dec 22, 2016 -> 09:35 PM) They love Jose Ramirez. Ha ha, how could I forget. Was probably thinking about last off season.
  24. Good grief has Merkin been eerily quiet. Same with Nightengale now that I think about it.
