  1. Question for the board. What if Houston caved in and said they would trade Bregman but the trade would be Bregman for Q straight up. Would ya do it?
  2. QUOTE (kwill @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:57 PM) Have to figure Tucker and Reed are involved. This will have to be a depth package. Why depth? The Sox have depth in the low to mid minors but not much to speak of that is somewhat close to MLB ready.
  3. QUOTE (Knuckles @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:56 PM) Sean Sears: Astro's getting close to deal for White Sox Jose Quintana. f*** yeah Astros, drop your knickers and take a deep breath cause this is going hurt! Edit: nevermind.
  4. Come on Astros, give it up like a desperate prom date or Hahn won't use the Vaseline!
  5. As always, great job and thank you all for your insight's.
  6. Here's the latest ranks in the Sox farm! http://m.mlb.com/prospects/2016?list=cws Damn, that's lookin sexy.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) Well, I just woke up for a nap. Oi! Get started on the next writeup about the latest haul. What's the matter, can't keep up?
  8. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:57 PM) LOL a Nats player texted Rosenthal saying, "WTF?! We still need a closer!" @Buster_ESPN Rival evaluator on the White Sox trades: "They're kicking some butt." I hear David Robertson is available.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:42 PM) It has to be the Astros right? I mean, they've got a playoff team right now, but right now I'm looking forward to the Boston/Cleveland ALCS slugfest followed by the matchup of the winner with the Cubs. The Astros have a playoff team on paper, but those other teams are loaded. Yeah, the Astros make alot of sense with all their young positional talent and no room to put em. Then again the same can be said about the Rockies. Then there's the Yanks who need pitching and just watched their division rivals acquire Sale yesterday. s*** is so confusing and yet absolutely fun to think about. So glad the Sox FINALLY chose to go this route. I haven't been this excited about Sox Baseball in a while now.
  10. So who's it going to be that coughs up the next haul for Q? Astros, Yanks, Rockies?
  11. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 04:06 PM) Q is going for hitters now. Guarantee Thinking the same thing. Both the Rockies and Astros have been adding veteran hitters this winter and need pitching so I'm thinking Q will be gone soon.
  12. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:54 PM) + had better not mean just one more player. Nah man. The + is Turner!
  13. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:47 PM) Waiting for the final details before reacting This ^
  14. QUOTE (steveno89 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:23 PM) That is actually a fairly interesting trade proposal to think about Martes + Tucker is a decent centerpiece to a Quintana deal. I'm not sure Houston wants to part with Musgrove or Reed in that deal though The proposal does seem to favor the Sox a bit, but not by too much. I prefer Reed and Musgrove. The Sox have a hole in the rotation for Musgrove who is a ground ball pitcher and Reed's left handed power potential would look nice in the middle of the order on a rebuilding team. For Q alone I think I would be happy with a haul of Reed+Musgrove and one of Martes/Tucker. Imho, that's pretty close to being a fair trade.
  15. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 03:18 PM) I dont know but personally I am positive I will go to more games next year than I did this year. My thoughts exactly. Bring back the " kids can play" slogan!
  16. f*** it, I'll throw some s*** out there because I'm bored while waiting for the next trade to drop. How about Q + Jones to Houston for Kyle Tucker, AJ Reed, Joe Musgrove and Francis Martes?
  17. QUOTE (mmmmmbeeer @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 02:26 PM) I'm sure pep talks from the bench and locker room is what Theo had in mind when he handed over $184,000,000 to Jason Heyward. GMs from across the league are lining up to take on that contract so that they, too, can have Heyward give pep talks during rain delays. Wow. Sports psychologists have become somewhat expensive.
  18. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:11 PM) Jon Heyman ‏@JonHeyman 29m29 minutes ago Dodgers like Frazier and talked to chisox but first choice at 3B remains keeping turner. No plan to accede to 5-yr hope tho Soooo much posturing by the Dodgers, Turner and the Sox. Makes me wonder if the Dodgers are using Frazier's name in the media to try and get Turner to lower his contract demand's.
  19. QUOTE (Baron @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:50 PM) Dan Hayes told me the Nationals really arent that interested in Q. That's interesting. Lots of conflicting reports today about the Nat's and Q. It's fine with me because it leaves the Nat's to discuss Eaton with the Sox and the Sox can discuss Q with Houston, Yanks and whomever else. With the Rockies signing both Fowler and Desmond, I wonder if they try to build a package for Q? Maybe something centered around Dahl?
  20. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 01:45 PM) That makes a lot more sense. If you take Turner off of the table, a deal isn't possible. But if you start tapping into what the Yankees have to offer, that changes the equation. Exactly. There's just no chance the Nat's get Q+Eaton without giving up Turner in a two way trade. A third team has to be brought in to help the Nat's form the haul the Sox would get.
  21. This rumor has three way deal written all over it. Something like Q+Eaton to the Nat's, Gio Gonzalez to Yanks for prospects and the Sox get a huge combo of players from the Nat's and Yanks. Or something to that effect.
  22. QUOTE (shipps @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:29 AM) I can literally write Levine's tweets for him with no inside knowledge and it would be the same as what he writes. All he does is regurgitate what's already been reported. Can't believe people still pay attention to the s*** he writes. Anyway, moving along. Frazier to the Dodgers would make sense. Cheap and only under control for one season so there's no long term financial commitment to him.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:19 AM) I understand that. I am not against signing these types of projects. But, there has to be some way you can hope for success. Derek Holland, when healthy, isn't the kind of guy who profiles very well at the Rate. I would rather the Sox spend resources on guys, who if everything goes right keep the ball in the park, throw groundballs, strike people out...Those are guys other teams may give up prospects to acquire. I get ya DA. I just see this guy for what he is, a filler. Just like Dickey and Colon are for Atlanta while the Braves wait for their young pitching talent to become MLB ready.
  24. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Dec 7, 2016 -> 11:06 AM) I get signing rehab projects and hoping to get something, but this is a guy who first of all is always hurt. OK, you get fortunate and he's healthy. Secondly, gives up a lot of home runs. Not good where the Sox play. Third, throws very few groundballs. Again, not good on the southside of Chicago. He's the kind of guy who is behind the eight ball if things go his way. There has to be someone out there to if it all goes right, has a decent chance of success. Holland just needs too many miracles to get something of value for him. None of this even matters to a rebuilding team with one and possibly two holes open in the rotation. Holland serves as a filler until a younger pitcher is ready or, the off chance Holland pitches well enough to be traded. Worst case scenario is he s***s the bed and the Sox release him. No harm no foul.
  25. Yep, I'm game for reasons already stated. It's not like the Sox would sign Holland with the idea of winning the division.
