I kinda wonder if if Charles is basing this off of last year's rumor of a bad contract swap between the giants and cubs. Heyward for Samardzija was the rumor if I remember correctly.

No denying the front office has signed some serious duds in recent years. But I don't see the McCann signing as anything more than a backup to a guy coming off a PED suspension. McCann is a short term filler and nothing more.

Zavala spent time on the DL last year and had a limited number of plate appearances. Collins has yet to be promoted to Charlotte. Signing McCann has absolutely zero baring on the futures of Zavala and Collins. Should one become ready then one of Castillo/McCann will be released.

Strange. I started the off season wanting Harper first and foremost and now starting to lean towards Machado.

We all knew the Sox aren't the most attractive FA destination right now so signing Harper or Machado was going to be tough. If I'm Harper I wait it out for a while longer to give contenders a chance to free up money and get into the mix.

He'd be a fool to pass on that to sign with the White Sox.

No sir he is not. Hahn is right, there's more to signing Harper than just the money.

10/400 for Harper and 10/350 for Machado.
