  1. QUOTE (southside hitman @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) Thanks for reading bud! I think Kanny would be very appropriate for him and Seby. Should be a interesting affiliate to follow with most of the rookies and internationals signees graduating there. I read the recaps every day my good man. You all do a great job! I'm really looking forward to watching the Z brothers move their way up through the system and am pretty excited about them as well as others. I really think the SOX did well in the 2015 draft considering they did not have a second or third round pick. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 11:05 AM) Zangari, Zavela, Cruz, Rodriguez, Jarvis, Medick, Comito, Banks, Soloranzo should all be in Kanny next year. Kanny games should be much more fun to follow next year no doubt.
  2. Considering the Sox depth in relievers and not knowing what the Yanks might offer, can't say I agree with Rosenthal. Trading Robertson would not be a sign of the Sox rebuilding. I don't expect Robertson to be traded but I'd sure as hell be interested if the Yanks were willing to offer up Mateo like they did for Kimbrel.
  3. Thanks for the recap Southside hitman. Sox looking pretty smart with the Zangari pick so far. Should be interesting to see where the Sox place him in the minors for the 2016 season. Would Kanny be too big of a stretch?
  4. As a huge fan of horror, this saddens me to no end. RIP Wes and thank you so much for all you did for the Horror genre. You are dearly missed.
  5. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 09:02 AM) I guess I am the only one who would actually think about letting the Yankees take on Robertson's contract without asking for anything in return? (Like when the Sox claimed Rios) I think you are. Despite Robertson's contract he has value. Papelbon netted Philly a AA pitching prospect and I would certainly think Robertson has more value than Papelbon who is older and more expensive. Imo, there's no chance the Sox just give Robertson away for nothing.
  6. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 08:44 AM) Maybe but the Yankees were pretty active in trying to add a reliever add the non-waiver deadline and apparently made a decent offer for Kimbrel. They wanted to add another really good reliever to Betances and Miller to try to make games in the playoffs 6 innings since their rotation is nothing special. Good points. Sox are by no means desperate to move Robertson so I am curious to the level of interest the Yanks have. It's probably nothing but at least it's something different to talk about, if only for a matter of hours.
  7. Just a wild guess on my part but this sounds like the Yanks put in the claim to make sure Toronto could not have a shot at Robertson.
  8. This is interesting. I think I'll wait until after I get some coffee in me to comment further.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 12:14 AM) But he has 20 HRs. He also has 184 strike outs in 133 games against AAA pitching this year and a .653 OPS. Davidson has done absolutely nothing to deserve a callup. He would be worse than LaRoche.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 05:54 PM) I bet he's coming up still. I'll take that bet. Davidson is barely batting over .200 at Charlotte and the Sox infield is plenty crowded already. There's literally no point in calling Davidson up.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 11:14 AM) Oh absolutely. Even if he turned out to be a good reliever that's a win. Check out Almonte's line for Winston today. 6IP 2H 0ER 2BB 12K Not sure where the eruption came from but I'll take it.
  12. Anderson with a HR Almonte with a big day! 6IP 2H 0ER 2BB 12K
  13. Micah Johnson, Erik Johnson, Zach Phillips, Terance Marin and Montas.
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 09:50 AM) Hmm, no strikeouts I agree his K total is a bit low but the kid is only 21 and was traded to the Sox for Beckham. Many Sox fans, including myself, were ready to DFA Beckham last year so I'll take Almonte over nothing any time.
  15. Would like to add that I'm in agreement with those that say Anderson should be in AAA to start next season. TA should not even be an option for the Sox coming out of ST. If the Sox need to keep Alexei around for one more year or plug Saladino in at SS then so be it but Anderson, imo, is not an option coming out of ST next year. Let the kid develop! Also, not a fan of moving Sanchez to SS. Imo, the kid has potential of playing GG caliper defense at 2B and his bat fits 2B as well so by no means should he be moved from that position. As for Micah. Seeing as how the Sox have a lack of power from the current DH, Micah's lack of defense and leg issues I would have no problem with him as DH. I honestly believe Micah would be more productive than LaRoche. That's really not a stretch either. Otherwise, maybe try to trade Micah as part of a package for a 3B, as others have already stated.
  16. QUOTE (spiderman @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 08:22 AM) Sox got something decent for Beckham? Yency Almonte. Kid is pitching pretty damn good. http://www.baseball-reference.com/minors/p...traderumors.com
  17. Fulmer finished with 3IP 2H 2BB 4K 0ER
  18. QUOTE (ron883 @ Aug 28, 2015 -> 06:43 PM) 52 pitches in the first inning though... ouch Are you watching on game day? I don't see a pitch count in the box score.
  19. Fulmer K's the side in the first and Winston up 4-0 Kanny up 5-0
  20. Charlotte- Penny Birmingham- Danish Winston- Fulmer Kanny- Lowry GF- Easterling AZ- ? http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20150828
  21. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 10:57 PM) Yea but including spring and AAA he's at about 130. As I said, let him make 2-3 more starts and then shut him down. I see no reason to push him much past 140 or 150 this season. He hasn't needed to build arm strength so much as become more efficient and he's done well with it. Respectfully disagree with you here. The season is over as far as playoff aspirations it's time to protect some assets. I see what you mean. I did not take into account ST and to be honest I forgot he had 10 innings in Charlotte so thank you for bringing those into the equation as they certainly matter for a young pitcher. Now I respectfully disagree with me. I still go to a 6 man rotation until Carlos is done. The extra day off could help but otherwise, two or three more starts sounds about right. Thank you for being respectfull in your disagreeing.
  22. Rodon pitched a total of 123.1 innings last year and this year he's at 122.2. As long as his arm, shoulder and finger (blister) are OK there's zero reason to shut him down. He,like any other young pitcher, needs to build up his innings and the only way to do that is to exceed the previous years totals. As long as Rodon is healthy, shutting him down would be stupid. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/pro...?P=carlos-rodon Edit: I was reminded in another thread about Rodon's innings total and I had forgotten about ST. He is getting up there in innings for a 22 year old in his first MLB season. If he stays healthy I would let him go to around the 150 mark and consider s***ting him down. I do think moving EJ into the rotation and getting starters an extra day off could help make it easier on Rodon, especially at the end of his first full season.
  23. Barring fatigue or injury I see no reason to shut down Rodon for the rest of the season. I think the Sox should go to a 6 man rotation once Erik Johnson is called up in September. Carlos is sitting at 112.2 IP so there's plenty of room for him to pitch the rest of the season. Keep building up those innings Carlos!
  24. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 10:13 PM) I"ll assume TFT is Trayce friggin Thompson and the TNT are his initials and new nickname The way that kid stings the ball, TNT is rather appropriate.
