  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 09:52 PM) I am right there with you, too . But one caveat. If the teams wanting SP don't start making better offers , screw em, miss the playoffs then ya bastards ! Imagine if LaRoche wakes up (hahaha) or Avi starts hitting HR's ( uh huh, sure ) and Sanchez, Melky and Saladino continue to hit and the defense continues playing well. I'd love the Sox to NOT trade Shark and have the Sox pass all the teams who wouldn't pay for Shark and flip them the bird when we make the playoffs. You make me want to play the song " Imagine" .
  2. Just to add to speculation. I wonder if Micah Johnson would be used as part of a package in a trade for a 3B, SS or C.
  3. The offensive surge is nice and so is winning, while it lasts. I still hope they trade Samardzija and hope even more they don't offer him the money he's been speculated to get this winter.
  4. Watch it be Samardzija/Danks/Putnam for Barnes, Ethier and A ball pitcher. Edit: this should have been posted in the crazy trades thread.
  5. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 08:27 PM) I wonder if Hahn is trying to get a Major league player , someone he could plug in the lineup right away. Since Blue Jays need a starter and a RP and Hahn can make the trade without actually declaring the season over. Dalton Pompei would be nice. I wonder if Eaton can play RF.
  6. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 08:17 PM) His swing is looking so long and slow these days when the pitcher throws 98 he's going to be late . Lol, good point.
  7. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 08:16 PM) Np posts in the game thread for about a 1/2 hour . DId Samradzija get traded or something ? I think that maybe a few Sox fans are expecting a trade.
  8. First, the Sox are scoring runs and now LaRoche hits the ball to left field? WTF is going on? Been a fun game so far.
  9. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Jul 25, 2015 -> 07:15 PM) That's a solid train of thought. Thanks man. It lines up so we will see what happens. Really curious to know the team(s) that are talking to Hahn right now.
  10. I'm thinking Samardzija has been traded, Erik Johnson about to be recalled to the Sox and Montas bumped to Charlotte.
  11. The Dodgers have Puig, Pederson, Schebler, VanSlyke, Crawford, Guerrero and Ethier for outfielders so why would they be interested in Melky or Avi? The Dodgers have too many as is.
  12. I wonder if or how many scouts are in Cleveland watching Q tonight.
  13. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 02:24 PM) Anyone thinking that Larry King tweet has nothing to do with Samardzija? I'm with ya. I'm thinking Q unless the Sox changed their minds on Sale.
  14. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 12:54 PM) If that were to truly happen, I'd expect Seager back. Same here. I would be looking for Seager, Holmes and Barnes.
  15. Would be kind of funny if Samardzija was used to sweeten a deal centered around Q. The Dodgers really could use two arms in the rotation.
  16. Well done. The only thing I would disagree with is the Dodgers and cubs being the only teams with enough to acquire Sale, I'd put Houston's loaded farm in the mix as well.
  17. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 10:09 AM) i am still advocating on not trying to ask for too much. i believe that 2 or those players would be enuf. i think and this is my assumption that the sox was asking for too much. with hou yesterday. Call me crazy but if the Sox were able to get Sanchez and one of Mateo/Bird I'd be pretty damn happy about it. With the Yankees struggling to find a long term solution at SS and their 1B/DH spots tied up, I think Sanchez and Bird are more likely the return if a trade with the Yankees happened.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 24, 2015 -> 08:05 AM) Those were preseason rankings. Callis said Nottingham would be 9 in the mid season list, so he has blown up pretty well. What concerns me is the conflicting value from those quoted speaking on Samardzija's value. Big difference between getting a little more that what Kazmir netted the A'a and 1 B level prospect or 2016 draft pick. That's a rather wide range in terms of Samardzija's speculated value. Sounds to me like Samardzija's value will be less determined by the Sox and mostly determined by the trade partners perception of Samardzija's value as well as their desperation as contenders. At this point I do not know what to expect in a return for Samardzija.
  19. Well this is interesting. http://www.csnchicago.com/white-sox/white-...hot-stove-heats "In exchange for Kazmir, who shares the same contract status as Samardzija, Oakland received Houston’s No. 19 and No. 22 prospects. One baseball executive thinks the White Sox could expect to receive a little more than the A’s did. But if other teams look at a trade market that seems to be saturated with pitchers and don’t give them what they want, the White Sox could hang on to Samardzija and make him a qualifying offer, which would net them a compensatory first-round pick in the 2016 draft. One scout suggested the White Sox would receive no more than a “B” level prospect for Samardzija to which an American League scout said: “If that was the case, they’d be better off keeping (him) for the draft pick.” I'm not sure what to think outside of I hope the Sox do not sign Samardzija in the off season.
  20. Kazmir for the Astros makes more sense with how Kazmir has pitched this year and that the Astros did not have to trade any of their top OF or pitching talent's that are in the MLB or close to. Smart move by Luhnow.
  21. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 23, 2015 -> 07:31 PM) Only 3rd base was still need a SS with Mercer hurt. I think Pitt is going to use Kang at SS.
