  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 09:41 AM) Fine...then there is 1 requirement. Give me a roadmap to fixing this offense in 2 years that actually works. It can't rely on magic, it can't rely on Abreu and Eaton becoming their 2014 selves because they might not, it can't rely on Garcia being much better than this, it can't rely on Tim Anderson, it has to be done using the stuff in our system and a handful of additional free agent signings but still bargain basement ones because we have so many different positions to fill for 2017. I for one would look at that and say "I can't do it", but then I'd end up fired as a GM, so I might as well trade Quintana and see if that fills a few of the holes. The Yanks would most certainly be interested in bringing back the one that got away, Q. Severino, Judge and Jagielo might be a good haul for Q.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jun 20, 2015 -> 08:08 AM) I'd hold Samardzija for 3-4 more starts. Looks like he's coming around. Some possible names from teams on the high end: Toronto I'd ask them for Jeff Hoffman because that would be a ridiculous return. Probably wouldn't be possible though. C Max Pentecost 3B Mitch Nay LHP Matt Smoral (Sox liked him around draft time) C Dan Jansen (Low Minors) DH Rowdy Tellez New York Yankees C Gary Sanchez 3B Eric Jagielo C Luis Torrens 3B Miguel Andujar Houston 3B Colin Moran 1B AJ Reed C Max Stassi This is a good and reasonable list Jimmy, good job. I think the Yanks will show the most willingness to part with talent. I would ask for Judge and if not ask for one of Sanchez or Jagielo for Samardzija. Too bad there isn't much to package with Samardzija to try and get Judge and one of Sanchez/Jagielo. Maybe there is? Maybe the Hanks have interest in Alexei?
  3. In a season like this, leave Sale in for a chance at a complete game shut out.
  4. Marin pitched 7 shutout innings in Charlotte's 3-0 win. Nice game.
  5. QUOTE (oldsox @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 07:59 PM) what's a flee infection? Lol, I probably should have said infestation shouldn't I? On well, it likely comes from the hair. Anyway. Nice game by Sale so far. Shame about the offense, again.
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 07:38 PM) Did Beckham get scratched Could be. Rumor has it that he has recently been battling a nasty flee infection and is the reason for his slump.
  7. If the Sox want to give Sale every opportunity possible to win, maybe they should give him a bat.
  8. QUOTE (Dunt @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 04:26 PM) Heard a guy say they would trade Vogelbach for Shark this morning. Ya, ok. I would take that trade without thinking twice. Doubtful the cubs would. Then again, I admit I do not see Shark's value as high as others do.
  9. QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Jun 19, 2015 -> 04:08 PM) Buehler is supposed to be the starter for Vandy tonight. Thanks for the heads up.
  10. As I pointed out yesterday, JR is 79, wants to see another winner and therefore not going to rebuild the franchise from the ground up. We will continue to see this " rebuild on the fly" bulls***, not because of KW or Hahn, but because its what JR wants. I do believe in Hahn and I'm no fan of KW but both of them have their hands tied since JR has the final say as to what direction this team goes. Like it or not, it is what it is and it smells.
  11. I'll be following these games online this evening and looking forward to it. I might even crack a few beers to go with Sox minor league baseball.
  12. Searched the net and came up empty. Is Fulmer pitching for Vandy tonight? I cannot find the starting pitchers for tonight's Vandy/TCU game.
  13. IMHO, Melky and LaRoche are going nowhere due to their salaries and lack of production. Hopefully they can hit enough the rest of the season to be traded this winter. Robertson: I think his contract will look better this winter after Papelbon signs a new deal. That's when the Sox should move Robertson if they are ever going to. More teams would be in the mix since the payrolls have more flexibility. Samardzija: pitching better and could very well be traded in July. Alexei: doubtful any team wants him and likely sees his 2016 season bought out and becomes a FA this winter. Duke: Sox could probably get an A ball Ricky Vaughn wild thing type in July. That's about it folks.
  14. For those that are starving for offense, might I recommend the Charlotte Knights? They have put up 13 runs tonight so far.
  15. No worries, a quick coaching visit to the mound will do the trick.
  16. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 08:20 PM) LOL. Sometimes it's the little things...... Seriously right! I can't remember being so happy over one manufactured run.
  17. Place your bets as to if Abreu gets stranded at second...
  18. The only thing left tuning in for is to see if Samardzija pitches well.
  19. I'm guessing Cole K's 11 tonight. Nice inning by Samardzija.
  20. QUOTE (Mike F. @ Jun 18, 2015 -> 02:43 PM) Sox lose 6-0. I think you're giving the Sox offense a bit too much credit I'm afraid. Expecting them to score 0 runs is setting the bar kind of high. I'm expecting less.
  21. Noesi is gone and Carroll replaces him in the pen. Sox win two ways. Carroll has proven to be much more effective as a reliever than a starter so long relief is a good role for him. He's an upgrade over Noesi and a step in the right direction.
