Thanks for posting this although it's surely to be ignored since it doesn't suit the whiners narrative. I'm calling 911 for a whambulance right now. Preparation H to the rescue!
-
Looking ahead to 2019, between Palka and Davidson I would easily take Palka. However, with the outfielders the Sox have in their system Palka has to become the full time DH or learn first base.

Haven't seen Gregg in a while. Was he traded and someone forget to post it? If so should we make an appreciation thread for him?

Adam Eaton with a subtle shot at the White Sox?
BlackSox13 replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Coming from Eaton I'll take it for what it's worth, nothing. The Sox clubhouse was dysfunctional and he played his part in it. Let's not forget his reputation preceded him when he came from Arizona. -
Works for me!

Up until recently I was all for keeping Eloy down until mid-April next year but with how he's crushing the ball in Charlotte I think we see him very soon. I just cannot see how the Sox will be able to keep Eloy down and then have to come up with even more half-assed excuses in late March 2019 for sending him to Charlotte for two or three weeks.
-
Same here Jose. Not to sound like I have my hopes up but I really do think we're days away from seeing Eloy on the south side.
-
I have no problem with gaining the extra year of control, it's the lame rationale Hahn is giving to the media. Literally nobody is buying it. IIRC the Sox did something similar with Yoan last year before calling him up. Personally I feel they have been waiting until they see if they can move an outfielder or two today. I really don't think the Sox will wait until next year.
-
Look at the bright side to waiting until about the third week of April 2019 to call up Eloy... we will likely hear some outlandish excuses towards the end of ST 2019 for the Sox sending Eloy to Charlotte to "work on a few things" before finally being called up. I normally don't rail on the front office but they really have stepped on their own peckers.

Just hang a sign around Shields' neck that says " free to a good home".

Sox Acquire Caleb Frare from NYY for Intl Pool Money
BlackSox13 replied to PolishPrince34's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I don't know anything about Frare but his AA numbers are ridiculous so I like this trade. -
Especially with a vast outfield to cover. Phillips profiles very well in RF for KC. I still like his bat potential but you're right about his swing and miss issues which I hope continue.
-
Read the opening line of the article and stopped right there. If it looks and smells like a turd it a fucking turd.
-
Phillips is a nice get for the Royals. White Sox base runners are going to need to be careful running on Phillips' 80 grade arm.
-
Four pages of chatter from a Gammons tweet. Well done Peter.

Thanks chilli! Trade doesn't look too bad for either team. Hamels performance and money doesn't warrant much of a return.

Soria traded for Kodi Medeiros and Wilber Perez.
BlackSox13 replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Time will tell in what we have with Wilber but Medeiros looks to have made some serious progress this year compared to his previous years. Potential diamond emerging from the rough? -
I like your thinking on this and agree. Those three have been terrible and if not for Soria's resurgence it would have been that much worse. IMHO, it's time to start looking ahead to 2019 and start working with these young pitchers now.
-
So who did the cubs give up? I'm seeing Rollie Lacy being named but that's it.
-
Danish has quietly come around this year, he's definitely worth a look. Once Avilan is traded I'd like to see Bummer get another look and while we're at it let's send Minaya back to Charlotte and give Vieria a look.
-
So confused on Abreu's value and trade interest. Not sure what to think.
-
For me the best case scenario goes like this. 1) Shields traded 2) Volstad DFA'd 3) Covey moved to the pen in Volstad's spot 4) Kopech and Stephens called up to take the two open spots in the rotation. 5) Hamilton replaces Soria
