Like No Doubt but do not like Gwen on her own. As for Metallica, absolutely despise them since the bulls*** Larz and James pulled over the Napster deal. Shame, I was a Metallica since '85, that ship has long sailed. Not trying to piss on your parade Gregg, just responding is all. The good thing is you had a great time and that's what counts. Edit to add: I did go see Metallica in 97 and I have to admit, they put on a hell of a show.

f*** it, its Sunday night/Monday morning and I'm drinking, albeit winding down. Agreed with others, this thread is rather disappointing. Should pick up with the warmer weather.

Alvarez skip both Winston and Birmingham? Jeez, no pressure. Edit: I'm not picking on ya Feeky and I like that you are thinking outside the box, just feel it could put quite a bit of pressure on a guy by skipping a few levels.

5/9 Reds @ White Sox Doubleheader
BlackSox13 replied to BaconOnAStick's topic in 2015 Season in Review
I don't get the complaints either. Beck was not called up to make his début, he was called up because of the Sox double header and needed a guy in the pen to take on innings so the Sox relievers weren't over used from playing two games. Beck was a precautionary measure and nothing more. Edit: Just looking around at the closers throughout the league and noticed how Robertson is behind most in IP which shows he's not been used as much as normal. We know this by watching games and looking at the loss column. Robertson needs work and Robin made the right call by giving Robertson the ninth. -
QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2015 -> 06:44 PM) thanks for the updates. 2014 draft keeps paying off. Adams had a very good outing and so has Fry. future looks very good, if they continue with their development. Just checked again, Winston lost 3-2 in the 10th Engel went 0-2 2BB CS Wheeler up for game 2.

Winston tied 2-2 in the 7th. Fry 6ip 5H 2er 5K 0BB

That line by KW does read weird, read it a few times myself to make sure I understood where he's coming from. The way I read it, KW is saying there would be cause for concern if the Sox did not have the talent to overcome this slow start but they do have the talent so there's nothing to be concerned about. I think I'm interpreting that line correctly?

Lots of baseball to be played today for the Sox and their affiliates with two double headers. Glad I have plenty of beer in the fridge to go with all these baseball games.

QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2015 -> 10:35 AM) yeah, i know i am probably being silly with this idea, but i think it would be great listening and will help develop more of a fan base for the org as a whole. I don't think its silly at all, I'd be all over it if the Sox did something like that.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2015 -> 10:24 AM) friends.... i am not talking about the cost. if i remember correctly, those games are the games that you, as a fan, can not control. i am a sox fan, i only want to watch sox minor league games, not some other mlb baseball team crap. Yeah, its the same thing as MLBTV so I get what you're saying. Something like a Sox network that only shows Sox related baseball games?
-
QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2015 -> 10:07 AM) i don't know about the cost, i am talking about watching just the sox minor league games. i really don't give a hoot about the teams players. Caulfield is right, its pretty cheap. $50 http://www.milb.com/milb/multimedia/

Levine is a complete dung beetle. Give him a s***s worth of info and he rolls with it. But, Levine is really not the problem here, he's just the messenger reporting what he hears. The real problem is the people in the FO with big f***ing mouths leaking stuff that really should be handled internally. Thanks to this leak, I have even less confidence in the FO to make things right in 2015. If I were Robin, I'd walk away from this mess and enjoy retirement.

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 9, 2015 -> 12:15 AM) Craig Gentry? Shoooot, give me Jacoby Ellsbury! I was thinking Brett Gardner. Can't go wrong either way. QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ May 9, 2015 -> 12:25 AM) Here is a video of the curveball that Hawkins DESTROYS for a HR. The fans in the OF don't even go back for the ball, it's way out of the premises. http://www.milb.com/multimedia/vpp.jsp?con...83&sid=milb CYA, BALL. Good grief, he just stroked the ball out of the park on a line shot. Impressive power! QUOTE (LDF @ May 9, 2015 -> 01:33 AM) you see, the sox org can broadcast this game. we as fans will enjoy watching these young kids developed. esp now with some exciting youngsters. I'm with you LDF. I would love to see Sox minor league games.

Brett Austin hit his first homer of the year. Now sits at 1HR, 3 triples, 3 doubles, 10 BB, 10K and batting .319. Nice work so far. Engel threw a runner out at home plate.

Damn, its pouring right now! Could be a long night, glad I picked up a case of beer a few hours ago.
-
We've got heavy cloud cover rolling in from the southwest here in the NW burbs. Hopefully the rain will move quickly so the game is played. Just read that Rodon faces Cueto Saturday.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2015 -> 02:11 PM) This is what is heading right towards Chicago. So what your showing is that's we might see a bit of precipitation this evening?
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 8, 2015 -> 02:04 PM) Yeah, but then they cut off liquor sales around first pitch (9:30ish) and you can't drink the whole game. DOH! Nevermind. Bmags was right when he said its a horrible way to treat the fans!
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2015 -> 02:00 PM) Is it possible to have a double no hitter? With the way this season has gone so far, nothing seems impossible. As long as Johnson draws a walk, steals second, third and home to win the game, I would be OK with a double no no.
-
QUOTE (flavum @ May 8, 2015 -> 01:42 PM) They won't cancel the game. They may postpone it though. I don't know man. According to NOAA, were expecting a quarter to a half inch of rain this afternoon/evening and three quarters to one inch tonight. Not looking good for Sox fans. Could be looking at a DH Saturday.
-
QUOTE (bmags @ May 8, 2015 -> 01:30 PM) If that's the case I hope they cancel it. That's a lousy way to treat fans. The more I look at the weather, the more it looks like the game could be canceled. As a fan, I would not mind drinking for three hours waiting for the game to begin as long as the game gets played. On the other hand, I don't want to see players getting injured from a water logged baseball field either.
-
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ May 8, 2015 -> 12:52 PM) If the forecast holds true, this game is not happening. Even the Sod Father needs some time to recover from 1-3" of rain. Good call. Just checked the weather again and the rain is supposed to move in around 6pm and last roughly three hours. There's supposed to be a window between 9-12 so maybe the game can be played if we don't get too much rain.
-
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ May 8, 2015 -> 10:54 AM) Came in to say the same thing -- this should be a night for homers. Yes it should. With storms coming from the southwest, I would imagine the wind will be blowing out between LF and CF. Should be a long high scoring game, and that does not include potential rain delays. QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 8, 2015 -> 11:01 AM) Setting the O/U on runs scored (assuming this one gets played) at 15. I'd say that's pretty accurate. I'll take the over.
-
Marquis vs Noesi on a warm humid night has high scoring game written all over it. Hope the Sox can out slug Cinci tonight.
-
QUOTE (raBBit @ May 7, 2015 -> 02:57 PM) I started against him and my team won 3-2. I hope he wins a Cy Young. Funkhowswer on the other hand handled me on both sides of the ball. Since you have played against Funkhouser and Jay, which would you take if it came down to a choice between the two? And, if you don't mind, why? I like that you have insight from a players perspective and not just a fan's perspective.
