  1. I might reaching here but looking a year down the road if the Sox can establish Fulmer as a solid reliever between now and next July, he could be quite valuable.
  2. Have you watched his starts? It's painful watching him walk the world. I agree he was rushed but he's had sufficient time to show he can find the strike zone as a starter but has not done so. It's not about him blocking anyone at Charlotte as a starter, it's about getting him acclimated to his new role as a reliever and possibly back to Chicago.
  3. I don't think Avi is getting traded regardless of his hospital stint. He's been on and off the DL this year with hamstring issues and to trade him now would be selling low. Then we would have to suffer through all the Hahn hatred for not getting enough. Best we can hope for is Avi stays healthy the rest of the season and performs well. Then revisit the idea of trading him this winter.
  4. There's been a few people saying Moncada should have been demoted in the Moncada thread. Too many pages to search through to find the quotes but it was mentioned by a few.
  5. Exactly. The Sox had briefly moved Fulmer to the pen last year but Rodon got injured so Fulmer was quickly back in the rotation. He performed well in September last year so he got another shot this year as a starter. The Sox have been patient with him but he needed GPS to find home plate and with Stephens seemingly ready for a call-up and possibly Kopech as well, there is no room for Fulmer as a starter which is why he was told his best chance of getting back to the big league is as a reliever.
  6. Agree with all of this. I think Shields, Cedeno, Avilan and Soria are all "take the best offer" candidates. The Sox have pitching in Charlotte they would like to call up to start working with them and get em acclimated to the majors this year.
  7. Thanks kyyle! I stand corrected. Still doesn't make much sense unless it was just heart burn. Good to hear it was nothing serious.
  8. Link? I don't buy it. If it were heart problems Avi would have stayed on the bench instead of eventually being brought in late in the game.
  9. I like the idea and it's about time. If Minaya can survive this far at the major league level I don't see why Fulmer couldn't. Carson has better stuff than Minaya as well so I think there's hope.
  10. The green apple splatters has passed and we owe it all to pepto! Welcome back Avi! ?
  11. I can't speak for Machado but I think the Sox would not only have to be the highest bidder, the bid would have to be significantly higher than a contenders bid. If the Sox bid say 350M and the Dodgers bid 325M I think he takes the Dodgers bid without thinking twice. Tens of millions isn't much when we're talking about hundreds of millions overall.
  12. I see what your saying and you're right they could afford both.
  13. Actually they won't because none of us will know for if the Sox make an offer and if they do for how much. We will all be speculating one way or another. IMO I believe the Sox will make an offer but I don't think Machado will have interest in joining a rebuilding team.
  14. Lost in the mix was Jose Rondon's 10th homer of the season and another solid pitching performance from Adams.
  15. I'm not sold on the idea of the Dodgers bring Kershaw back due to his expected salary and injury history. I'm thinking they re-sign Machado and try to get one or both of Corbin/Keuchel.
  16. Same here dude. I Like Stubbs alot. As for Bowman's proposal. Fried would be a great get but they can keep Jackson and Ruiz. Make it Fried, William Contreras,Thomas Burrows and I would be on board with that.
  17. I think we'll see more stuff written about Machado to the cubs than we will see written about the Sox. Then, after Machado signs elsewhere, we'll see nothing but JR is cheap posts littered all over Soxtalk while completely ignoring the Sox never had much of a chance in the first place.
  18. This is a nice return for the O's that gives them some depth for their putrid minor league system. Certainly not as much as they could have had but that's on their front office.
  19. Depends on what the dodgers do with Kershaw. If they part ways with Kershaw they will have plenty of money to re-sign Machado. I honestly don't think the White Sox have a snowballs chance in hell at signing Machado. I think he'll get some good offers from contending teams that will take the Sox out of the mix. I'm hoping the Sox are able to play solid enough baseball in '19 with their young talent to goes balls deep after Arenado over the 2019/20 winter.
  20. Yeah I would have sent Engel down and kept Tilson up. How many lives does Engel have left? I hope we see a platoon of Davidson/Delmonico at DH/1B. Keep Delmonico out of LF, that's Palka's spot for the rest of the season as far as I'm concerned.
  21. Agree with this 100%. Makes sense to look at raw players at the Kanny level and below to provide more depth.
  22. Yeah I don't understand that either. Fangraphs knows their stuff but I think they are way off on Allard. I'd be willing to bet Allard is off the table for Soria and should be. I do like Chilli's trade idea with the Astros. That seems more plausible.
  23. This is very true. Any idea what might be a legit prospect from the Dodgers to ask for and who the Sox would send to LA?
  24. Thing is will the Dodgers offer up enough of an interesting prospect to entice the Sox to take Forsythe in a deal? There is literally nowhere to put Forsythe on the field. He's been worse than every starting position player the Sox have on the field. Forsythe has a salary of 9M this year so there's about 4M left to pay him. Essentially the Sox would be paying 4M for the rights to the prospect.
