  1. Or Singer. At least if we drafted Singer we could have a sewing circle thread. Nope, we just had to draft the one of the best overall bats in the draft. Talk about draft suicide. My gawd we suck! Fuck it, I blame Kenny.
  2. Thanks you North side for posting the article and thank you south side for writing it! I've been wondering what changed in Lambert this year and now I know. He's been alot of fun to keep track of this season.
  3. Who cares that Madrigal can hit? He's still short and in the end that's what matters most! What a bust.
  4. The same nonsense is going on in the Moncada thread. Just some chicken shit trolling is all it is. Maybe their mommy cut the cable to the basement and can no longer watch Sox baseball so now they are left with watching hentai on their sticky laptop.
  5. Rodon isn't going anywhere. His injury history and set backs when coming back from injury won't bring back the prospects being proposed, not even close. Best idea would be to let Rodon pitch the rest if this season and all of the 2019 season and revisit the idea of trading Rodon over the 2019/20 off season with two years of control remaining. If all goes well Rodon will have pitched well and proven his shoulder is healed and the Sox will have a better idea of how well their minor league pitching depth has progressed.
  6. Yeah it was. Here's some HR highlights from the futures game. Alonso's HR was murdered, yikes! Edit: Hunter with some funny commentary about 4-5 minutes in.
  7. More timely hitting and great pitching from Giolito. Moncada a HR from the right side... what! That Palka HR was just wow!
  8. That's two in a row. Win tomorrow and that's a bona-fide streak! Great performance by Shields.
  9. Horrible tank effort tonight. Fire the front office or us fans will storm castle Reinsdorf!
  10. Oh man, your second paragraph described it perfectly. Can't remember how many times I've seen a Moncada atbat go exactly like that. I do agree though, he will learn. Just have to trust in the tools.
  11. If the Sox had more desirable assets to trade I can see throwing the Sox into the speculation, but they don't. We're most likely talking about Abreu, Shields, Soria, Avilan, Santiago, Cedeno as what the Sox are looking to potentially offer in a trade. Abreu could bring back something decent but the rest, nah ain't happening. Fry and Sanchez could bring back quality talent but I doubt they are going anywhere. I'd love to snag Brett Phillips from Milwaukee but I don't see a match there. It's most likely Milwaukee is offering him as the secondary piece in a package for Machado.
  12. This is why the idea is so fantastical. Arenado clearly wants to win and there's zero reason to think Arenado would want to sign an extension with a team 30 games under .500. Not to mention sign one year before free agency which would present plenty of potential contenders for him to choose from.
  13. No doubt. For whatever reason the umps really screw him over on pitches inside off the plate. He's going to need to swing earlier in the count at pitches over the plate or back off the plate a bit to get more wood on those inside pitches. The eye is there. As far as I can tell the pitches he struggles with most are breaking balls down in the zone and below it. Which alot of players have problems with in two strike counts. I hate to bring this name up but remember how Sosa was a sucker for sliders off the plate with two strikes? Was literally an automatic out. Sosa countered that by try to swing earlier in the counts when pitchers were throwing more over the plate to try and get ahead. Didn't always work but it helped him quite a bit.
  14. I was just about to quote your post above Jack. Great post and just had to hit that trophy. Funny how fans have forgotten about how we all raved about his defense early on in the season. It's obvious his struggles at the plate are carrying over onto the field. Anyone that's watched baseball knows this happens to players sometimes. I agree that he will be just fine and these are merely growing pains were seeing on the field. It'll pass.
  15. Not sure why someone laughed at this post. Maybe they were looking at their own crotch at the time. Anyway, great post and I completely agree. It's been numerous times already but Moncada was and still is raw so it will take some time but the talent is there and I still believe he will be just fine.
  16. So much truth in these posts! With wins being so few and far between I'm going to relish in them when they happen.
  17. Sox win a shut out and nobody's commenting? Tough crowd... then again it has been a tough season. Great performance by Rodon and some timely hitting from the bottom of the order.
  18. Bummer about MiGo but that's the kind if season it's been I suppose.
  19. Ricky went to the mound to pull Rondon and it was obvious Rondon didn't want to come out. The exchange didn't look heated but Renteria didn't look happy about it either.
  20. Honestly I'm surprised it took this long after the exchange he and Renteria had on the mound less that two weeks ago.
  21. Covey is getting hosed at the knees. No love from the ump.
  22. I believe in Moncada's potential so I would not trade him for Arenado.
