Arizona Fall League - 7 Sox prospects
BlackSox13 replied to NorthSideSox72's topic in FutureSox Board
TA is 1-1 with a 2B so far today. -
Yeah, take your high price somewhere else Atlanta. Good luck!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 03:42 PM) I think the bigger difference will be in years, with his deal going to 7 or 8 years. Is any team crazy enough to offer a 30 year old 7-8 years? Even the Yankees aren't that dumb.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 02:37 PM) Good news for us. Reduce that supply Every path leads the Mets back to Alexei. Someone needs to tell Seinfeld to just go ahead and order his Ramirez jersey now. -
Lmao. Scherzer turned down 6/144 which is 24M annually. Do people really think Scherzer went to FA just to collect just 1M more annually? He isnt signing for 25M annually. Come on, be reasonable people!

I would do Danks for Kendrick in a heartbeat but I doubt the Angels feel the same way. Kendrick has more value than Danks.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 12:38 PM) Or more recently, the Dodgers and Tigers. Ha ha, two very good points.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 11:36 AM) Hahn has about as much chance of getting Wheeler for Alexei as he does of sending Jordan Danks to the Angels for Mike Trout. Lol, that's fine with me. I have no problem holding onto Alexei. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 12:06 PM) The White Sox will not knowingly commit to losing money, that's why. Plus, the Sox are not going to double the payroll for only three players. That's just horrible managing of money and in fact just look at what spending like that has done for the Yankees, nothing.

For what the Sox would pay Scherzer, they could fill two other holes. Thanks but no thanks.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 08:19 AM) The only outfielder we could give them is Viciedo. I don't think they even have a need for an OF now though with Granderson, Lagares, and Cuddyer from left to right. Agreed and that's the OF the have the most interest in dealing. QUOTE (Baron @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 11:18 AM) You just wait for the Mets to offer Wheeler straight up and you take it Bam! That's what I'm talking about. QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 11, 2014 -> 11:22 AM) i am being perfectly honest here. would that be a fair deal? i am very guilty of over valuing the sox players and prospects. IMO, I take five years of control with a filthy 24 year old right handed starter in Wheeler over Alexei in a heartbeat. I would do cartwheels around the house if Hahn pulled off Wheeler for Ramirez. -

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 10:56 PM) I went over to the Mets board to talk about Alexei. I told them that obviously that the Sox hold Alexei more valuable than the Mets so the asking price is going to be high. I told them that the asking price would probably start with Montero and Plawecki, and add a lottery ticket prospect. 2 members responded to me and said no chance they give all that up for Alexei. I even saw a proposal of Alexei and Avisail for Montero and Ceccini.... Lol, riiiiiight! Sox would be getting fleeced. Sounds like some of them enjoy speculating as much as some of us. I really don't see a deal happening. The Mets can upgrade elsewhere if they feel the Sox are asking for too much, which is fine with me since the Sox are not desperate to trade Alexei anyway. -

QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 10:55 PM) by all accounts, he should have at least 2 yrs of continue reps working in the minors to correct those habit. i have been thinking thou. what happens if his hitting becomes so good, would the sox forget about that extra yr and have him come up in 2016??? Yeah, when Anderson's bat is MLB ready the Sox will find a spot for him somewhere. The Sox may have to work with Anderson as he goes through defensive growing pains but they won't hold Anderson back. -
Ichiro is one of those guys you sign as the final piece of the contender puzzle but unfortunately the Sox have other pieces that need to be put in place first. Shame really because I love the idea of having a lefty that hits lefties.

QUOTE (scs787 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 08:57 PM) Actually, SS is the position Semien has played the most in the minors. SS- 256 games 2B- 106 games 3B- 90 games He hasn't played it a lot at the major league level because Lexi is a robot who rarely gets a day off. Thanks for the correction. I did not realize Semien had played that many games at SS. I'm still uneasy with Semien at SS but I was wrong on his previous experience at the position no doubt. -
How much salary is SD wiling to eat? No chance I would take on that salary with as injury prone as Carlos is.

QUOTE (Andy the Clown @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 06:43 PM) Semien would be a fine alternative until Anderson is ready. Semien is ready to play everyday. I don't know man. Semien has not played much SS and he was not defensively impressive at third although he looked better at second. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 07:14 PM) Semien MIGHT be "okay." I don't think anyone really wants to see Leury Garcia out there for 140-150 games in 2015. Sanchez would be better defensively than Semien but has a limited offensive upside and profiles more like Eduardo Escobar, a supersub/utility guy. Then you have Saladino coming off TJ surgery, so no way he could be counted on at SS. Agree with everything you say here Caulfield. Sanchez would be my choice for SS, defensively speaking. Too bad we can't take the switch hitting/ batting average from Sanchez, Garcia's speed/ defense, Semiens eye/ power and put it all together for a pretty damn good young SS. We need those two kids from the movie Weird Science. If the Sox were to trade Alexei, I wouldn't mind seeing them try to sign Jed Lowrie who's reportedly looking for a salary in the same range as Alexei. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 04:24 PM) Gonna be way too expensive for them, I still think they go after Alexei Yup, I agree. "Due diligence" are the words that stuck out the most when I read the rumor at MLBTR. There's no doubt that Tulo would cost plenty more than Alexei. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 04:26 PM) Maybe Asdrubal Cabrera? Sign him to a 3-4 year deal and flip him when Anderson is ready. I'm not very high on Cabrera's bat to be honest. I'd prefer Lowrie, doesn't strike out much and can draw some walks too. -
QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) Sorry for the poll formatting issues, lol. If I'd known it required at least one answer in each group, I probably would have grouped them differently. You're bringing me down Jeb Bush, you're bringing me down.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 04:03 PM) I think if the Mets were willing to trade Wheeler for Ramirez, I'd have a really, really hard time turning it down. I understand the value of Ramirez and that he remains a fairly good player, but you cut $10 mill in salary and add like 5 years of control to the rotation. Same here. Yesterday I was watching highlights of Wheeler and salivating. When he's on, oh s*** is he filthy! -

QUOTE (raBBit @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 03:45 PM) There was a bunch actually. The initial reaction was a negative one. Then several posters reminded everyone how much of a regression candidate Santiago was and the publications went to war for Hahn. I wasn't sure about how many but I'm pretty sure you're right, there was plenty of bad reactions. To me, I thought the Sox did well considering Santiago was mostly a two pitch pitcher with a show me kind of slider and had a heck of a time staying in the strike zone. I think at one point towards the end of the 2013 season he managed to piss of Coop. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 03:54 PM) Buster Olney @Buster_ESPN 9m9 minutes ago Mets would seem like a perfect match on paper for possible Alexei Ramirez deal, given their surplus of pitching and CHW needs. I'm not against this depending on the return but who the hell plays SS? The idea of Semien or Sanchez playing SS is very unsettling. I suppose the Sox could sign Drew? Hanley? Lowrie? -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 12:38 PM) you have to pick one from each grouping. OK, thanks. I'll skip the voting since there's nothing that interests me in that third group. I would like to see the Sox sign Panda from the first group since the Sox could use his defense at third and his bat in the lineup. This is based on Panda's cost though. I would go as high as the 6/95 but that's it. If another team wanted to pay more then they are welcome to him, enjoy. From the second group I'd sign David Robertson and for obvious reasons.

QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 12:11 AM) Santiago netted us Eaton... I know that and I was one of the fans that loved the trade but there were some that felt Santiago was worth more and that's what my point was. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Nov 10, 2014 -> 01:22 PM) Encarnacion played only 4 games outside of 1b/DH all last year. Well s***, I don't know what Toronto is thinking.
