  1. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 10:40 AM) You get an A prospect for Jose Quintana (plus some). You might get a C- prospect for Gordon Beckham. Agreed. Something tells me that if Danks and Beckham are traded, some fans will be very disappointed with the return. I'm expecting less and hoping for more.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 10:21 AM) Peter Gammons ‏@pgammo 1m SF, A';s, teams needing 2B sifting through Valbuena, Cabrera, Hill, Prado, Beckham... Which translates to : SF, A's etc are shopping at Kmart for blue light specials.
  3. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Jul 30, 2014 -> 09:17 AM) Lol at our B and C level prospects being too much for a top ten pitcher in baseball with a world series ring and mvp who is controlled for 4 more years at fair market value. How is his contact a hindrance if he's pitching great? If he was on the open market he wouldn't get more than 4 years 90 mil? If Philly really is open to trading him (which I don't believe) they would have a lot better offers than what we could possibly come up with. But with all that said we aren't nearly in a place to be even considering a deal like that and I'm pretty positive Hahn isn't. Right now it isn't but pitchers do regress sometime after the age of 30 so its quite possible Hamels ( 31 in december) will regress and depending on how much he might not be worth that money in just a few years. Also should point out he has logged a lot of innings throughout his career which could scare GM's.
  4. Anyone care to guess who might be taking Lester out of Boston?
  5. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 10:26 PM) Had to read that a couple of times, first sentence of the second paragraph leapt out at me Lol, my bad. Just to clarify. My friend dated Farina's niece about ten years ago.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 09:57 PM) I had the luck to meet and get to talk to Farina a few times over a couple of summers. Really cool and nice guy. I'm jealous dude. I've liked him since I was a kid watching him in the old style commercials. A friend of mine dated his niece about ten years ago. Cool chick, loved watching football and baseball, could also put some beers down.
  7. QUOTE (LDF @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 06:51 PM) ahhh crap, now I starting to miss my old style. either way I gave up drinking since 1995. Haha, you missing old style reminds me of how I miss Dennis Farina. Nothing wrong with giving up drinking my man. I used to put a case of silver bullets down . Then decided to quit for what ended up being ten months. Now, 3 or 4 beers gives me a nice buzz and yet I wake up feeling great in the morning. Too old for slamming beers and feeling like s*** for two days afterwards. Just not worth it. So anyway, anyone hear any rumors? This has been somewhat uneventful so far. Suppose it will pick up soon.
  8. QUOTE (MnSoxFan @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 06:55 PM) Just the 4th error on Rondon since callup. Wow. Not bad at all. The throwing error from Hawkins is more annoying to me but it happens. Its just that 2 errors in one inning sucks for the teams pitcher. On the other hand Tyler pitched through it.
  9. Danish getting no love from his D, 2 errors so far.uhgg.
  10. QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 06:25 PM) Josh Norris ‏@jnorris427 2m @johnmanuelba You're missing a show. Danish is FILTHY Josh Norris ‏@jnorris427 3m Tyler Danish has oh my god good stuff tonight. Hellacious movement on everything. #WhiteSox Wooohooo! I love hearing news like this. Keep it up Tyler! Oh yeah, thanks for sharing that.
  11. What's the under/over for Davidson strikeouts tonight?
  12. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 06:18 PM) I hate looking like the desperate fat chick at the Ball. Not enough fat chick references lately. Just have a few Coors lights. Its working for me right now.
  13. QUOTE (Baron @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 06:12 PM) Talked to Dan Hayes on Twitter. He said he hears that some of the Danks talk is manufactured. Likely by the White Sox?
  14. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 06:11 PM) Reds are fading, already committed big coin to Bailey, put Cueto on the block, could happen. Would love to buy out his option with a big extension on a prearranged deal. Don't know if what we've got would be of any interest. Yeah, no way. I can't imagine what the Reds would ask for Cueto. Astronomical I'm sure.
  15. With a few days left, nothing to panic about. Deals can have a way of coming together quickly.
  16. Danish has been impressive for the Dash so far. Hopefully he has another good outing tonight. Pretty impressive for a 19 year old.
  17. Thanks for that update Feeky. Going to be fun watching Rodon's progress.
  18. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 29, 2014 -> 05:48 PM) Lol that's laughable. For those 3 players, Phillies would have to eat the rest of that contract. That team is so old and bad, they need to sell. That's what I'm thinking too. For a team desperate to relieve payroll they sure are shooting for the stars. I understand you always ask for more but, wow! Philly has become the model of what not to do as far as signing so many veterans to long term deals that extend well into the players 30's.
  19. "The Dodgers recently inquired about Phillies starter Cole Hamels, and were asked for a return that included all of Joc Pederson, Corey Seager, and Julio Urias. Los Angeles indicated it had no interest in a deal with that framework, but Philadelphia has not move yet from that asking price. The Phils are telling clubs that it wants three top-tier youngsters and another mid-level prospect in return for Hamels." Per MLBTR. Good luck with that Philly.
  20. If Davidson keeps this up he will have Trey and Nick Basto nipping at his heels. I know Trey and Basto are a ways off but seemingly so is Davidson. I haven't given up on Davidson but he really needs to pull it together.
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 07:58 PM) Uggla in 3 games with the Giants, 0-8 with 4 Ks and 3 errors. That's pretty Ugglaly!
  22. I would be all over Keuchel. Not sure what it would take but Keuchel could bridge the gap to Rodon when Rodon is ready and as long as Keuchel continued to pitch well he could be traded for prospects or if he's that good then keep him. 4 lefties doesn't scare me one bit. Trade Danks for JR Murphy and wed be looking better,IMO. OK, I'm done with arm chair GMing for now.
  23. QUOTE (hi8is @ Jul 28, 2014 -> 06:15 PM) Care to expand on "pretty good prospect" - I know little about him other than that he's a catcher and that he had a strong OBP in his last full year in AAA. Sorry man, wasn't trying to be vague. Here's a more recent scouting report. I think his youth and the possibility of sticking at catcher is what's so intriguing. http://www.scoutingbook.com/players/p2946
