I think what hurt Santiago's value was his control issues that led to shorter starts.

Trading ADA keeps Viciedo in LF and Danks on the bench as the fourth outfielder. This makes a bit more sense than keeping ADA since ADA isn't the best outfielder and sucks at base running. Which ever player nets the best return I guess.

I'd guess the mariners would have more interest in Viciedo, they are starved for power. Not sure who I'd prefer between Franklin and Ackley.

I read yesterday the Mets are looking for a SS, some kinda trade involving Ramirez for Murphy could make sense. Just a thought. Edit: How about ADA and Gillespie for Murphey?

We could Viciedo and send DeAza to the fundamentals part of the Cell in his off time. I like the speed of DeAza in the lineup, just not his fielding and base running... or lack there of.

OK, this idea is crazy on too many levels but here goes. Flowers and DeAza for Weiters. I know Boris is Weiters agent but KW no longer sits in the GM seat so would a possible extention be too crazy? Switch hitter with some power would help this team no doubt and the Sox have payroll space. Doubtful DeAza and Flowers is snuff but you get the general idea. Maybe add Rienzo to the mix?

I've been all about keeping an open mind to trading Sale and I agree AZ still has the young players we would desire but its just hard for me to imagine a trade happening now. Doesn't mean we can't speculate til we trade DeAza and have something else to talk about. How about a DeAza trade speculation/value thread? Anyone? Anyone? Anyone?

Yeah, with Santiago gone I think its safe to say Sale stays put and will be the opening day starter. May this thread rest in peace.
