What else would you expect from an anti-statite?
-
That's a big velocity drop for Kopech. I think he's going through a dead arm period. I'd like to see them skip a start to give his arm a rest and see how he comes back from it.
-
Thanks for updating us on tonight's game. If Kopech is trying to pitch into a tea cup he's bound to have a rough outing. Plus, I see chicken Alfredo is catching him tonight. The cards are stacked against Kopech tonight.
-
I'm glad you pointed this out. Some folks rail on TA if he makes a bad play but completely ignore the good plays. I just don't get it.
-
Yeah I think that rumor goes back to last year's trade deadline, IIRC. Good point about him being a nontender candidate after this season.
-
Dude, you cracked me up with the " worm burner " comment. Well fucking done!
-
Just another silly rumor out of Boston. Funny thing is that Bradley is having an Adam Engel type year so why the fuck would the Sox trade for JBJ lol.
-
-
Yes, he has. Aside from batting average all of Tim's numbers are up this year so he has without a doubt improved.
-
Mark this day on your "statnik" calender folks. Anyway. Saying this team is bad is nothing more than stating the obvious. Young players take time to develop, a plethora of injuries and a bullpen that has Soria as the closer. Did anyone really expect more?
-
Didn't Kopech lose a friend recently? That along with his breakup with his girlfriend could be weighing on him mentally. Give him time and he'll rebound, hopefully starting tonight.
-
I think Kopech starts to get things turned around tonight. What sucks is that Charlotte will be aired on Saturday but obviously won't be seeing Kopech and likely not Stephens since I think he follows Kopech. But, there's a chance we see Eloy in Charlotte on Saturday.

Bring Bevington back as the manager and Ozzie as his bench coach. Oh, and make Hawk the GM.
-
I think that rumor is a resurrection of last year's Abreu/Boston rumor. Literally the same shit. Agree that the Sox can get more.

ESPN ranks White Sox rotation worst in baseball

It is what it is. I think most of us already knew this. -
Lol. I was going to reply to that post but I think I'll just move on.

Frustration is the best word to describe the situation. This is probably the first time in his career he's struggled like this so it's a completely new learning experience for him. All part of the maturing process.
-
Moncada was struggling before the Sox drafted Madrigal so I highly doubt Moncada is looking in his rearview mirror at Madrigal.
-
Yeah he really has. I used to cringe when I'd see a ball hit his way but not anymore. His hard work is paying off.
-
Big man showing a little range to get that third out. Nice play Palka!
-
Moncada had a good start to the season defensively. To me he looks like he's bringing his hitting struggles to the field with him. Dude is down but not out.
-
IIRC, Cooper said Kopech tries to throw the shit out if every pitch. Right now he's a thrower and not a pitcher, which I believe Stone has basically said as well. Hopefully Kopech will realize his stuff is plenty good enough where he doesn't need max effort for every pitch. He's still learning how to become a pitcher.
-
Exactly. I was going to throw " mental midget" into that post but it gets used often enough. IMHO, Kopech looks to be mentally pressing to perform for the call-up and could be going through a bit if a dead arm phase. I watched highlights of his last start and it was obvious he couldn't find his release point to save his life. He was all over the place. It's why I suspect the dead arm phase as part of the problem. He'll get his muscle memory back and be fine. He's just not ready, yet.

Whitley is the Houston minor leaguer I've been enamoured with. Though I realize he isn't going anywhere. Agree with everything you say about Stubbs. I remember his name coming up often during the last year or so.
-
I would be willing to add Jones or Avilan or Rondon to the mix for those three. Would love to snag Stubbs in a trade and send Narvaez back to Charlotte.
