Are you guessing or betting a house on Girardi?
-
Gonna have to take Tilson. I've seen enough of Engel and am ready to give someone else a try. Does Engel have options left? If so I would keep Rondon up when Leury comes back and send Engel down.
-
Make it Alvarez, C.Perez and Stubbs, I'm game.
-
I doubt this. Kopech was never ready so if he's butthurt over not being called up yet then he's got some maturing to do yet.
-
I hear he's kinda good. Hit a few home runs last year if I remember correctly.
-
Which of these talents are ready? Stephens is probably the closest to being ready and he hasn't been in Charlotte that long. Kopech is struggling, Adams just got to Charlotte, Hansen just had his first start of the season for Birmingham, Cease is still in Winston-Salem. Who is Giolito holding back? Donn Roach?
-
Great points Lillian and I agree. Pitchers seem to like throwing first pitch fastballs to him to get ahead so I wouldn't mind seeing Moncada take more swings earlier in the count.
-
It was made clear this past winter that Machado is not signing an extension and will hit the free agent market. Why in the world would he pass on an opportunity to have multiple contenders bid for him on the open market?
-
Despite the results I liked what I saw from Giolito. He's still struggling with his control but his pitches have more life to them. His two-seam sat around 93mph with late movement, the slider and curve had good bite to them. Control did him in. I'd like to see him throw that two-seam more often. Only throw the four-seam high on 0-2/1-2 counts.

Stole second and third after the single and scored.

That's being generous. I was thinking Palka wears a cast iron oven mitt in RF.

Sorry Narvaez but you ain't no Benito Santiago.

Lopez has been pitching kind of, bend but don't break, lately. I think it shows he's learning how to pitch through trouble. As you pointed out he had alot of hits but aside from one inning he was able to pitch out of trouble and without his best stuff tonight.

Not what I had in mind but that'll do!

Come Yolmer, hit a homer!

What if CAT really spelled dog?

Well this thread is lively. I like it!

Kopech's age, struggles and numbers are all legit reasons to let him stay in Charlotte to continue developing. If he doesn't make his White Sox debut this season, it's not necessarily a bad thing.

Do the White Sox have too much starting pitching?
BlackSox13 replied to Dam8610's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The Sox have too much starting pitching like they have too many outfielders and middle infielders. If it becomes a problem it's a great problem to have. Just like the hitters, find a place for them when the time comes and if there turns out to be a surplus, trade that surplus for what's needed elsewhere. -
Not going to get down on Kopech because he's still so young and I do believe eventually he will become more of a pitcher instead of a wild cannon. He's a pitcher that's still building up his innings so arm fatigue is bound to happen at some point and could be the cause of his recent struggles. His highest season IP total is 134 last year and currently sits at 62.1. He's still developing.

Kopech is 22 with Giolito and Moncada being 23. Not worried, lol.

Yoan has the tools and is still learning how to use them. Some folks forget how raw he was and still is with limited professional experience. The best is still yet to come from Yoan.
