  1. I think you are onto something, along with everyone else that likes the pick. Maybe I have my hopes up but I think we're going to like this pick more and more as Madrigal progresses through the minors and eventually into a White Sox uniform. That would have been an interesting clubhouse with Bonds and Belle.
  2. Rodon will be moving Santiago to the pen so there's something to be happy about.
  3. So the Sox need a power hitting third baseman in the next year or two but should have drafted a high school outfielder?
  4. You don't think so but obviously the White Sox and their scouts think otherwise. Who would you have drafted?
  5. If for some crazy reason a team or teams are interested in Shields, take the best offer. If Shields is not traded there's no reason to exercise his option for '19. Let him go to free agency. There will be plenty of pitching fillers on the free agent market if the Sox need one or two. There won't be a high demand for Shields so if the Sox need a filler they can always bring Shields back by signing him as a free agent.
  6. Should be Hector's last start before heading back to the pen.
  7. Great news! We've been missing Carlos in the rotation.
  8. I hadn't thought about Bummer and that might be an even better guess if Santiago goes back to the pen to join fellow lefties Avilan and Fry. I was hoping I didn't come off as emotionally jumping off the wagon with Giolito. I admit that just last week I was ready to send him down but he has done a better job of throwing strikes the last few starts and he seems to work well with Smith. Maybe Giolito went through a dead arm period that many pitchers go through?
  9. Agreed. It makes me laugh that a lack of HR power is being pointed out. As if Madrigal has nothing else to offer lol.
  10. So is Beck going down with Santiago to the pen and Rodon taking Hector's spot in the rotation?
  11. Exactly. Madrigal has all the tools to make a great table setter at the top of the lineup.
  12. Can we pretend for a moment that Madrigal wasn't drafted for his power? In fact, let's not pretend. Sure Madrigal lacks HR power but his bat control, bat speed and running speed should lead to plenty of extra base hits which will bode well at the top of the order.
  13. So are we looking at Rondon for the 9th? Anyone not named Soria or Minaya will be just fine.
  14. So you want to give the player an opt-out about the time the Sox are expected to contend? That makes no sense.
  15. With Madrigal playing crouching tiger and TA behind the plate, I will bet another house that there will never be a successful bunt!
  16. I'm going to up the ante and bet the house Greg comes in at some point to say the Sox should have drafted Singer. Royal love baby!
  17. Wow. I anticipated Singer could slide further than what was speculated after his last performance but damn. Didn't think he would slide this far. He's skydiving without a parachute.
  18. I'm not advocating to move Moncada. It's just that who stands a better chance of playing another position other than 2ND, Moncada or Madrigal? Madrigal looks to be limited to 2ND unless his arm strength improves enough to bump TA from SS. Regardless I'm happy with the pick and as others have said this will sort itself out when the time comes. I look forward to a 1 2 punch of Madrigal Moncada at the top of the order in a few years.
  19. I really don't like the idea of moving Moncada but his athleticism makes him more versatile to move to another position than Madrigal.
  20. Can't help but think Singer was more in the mix until his last start.
  21. Well hog my hooter and mother puss bucket! Thank you White Sox!!!
  22. Palka has hit well enough to stay in the lineup. Problem is where does he fit in now that Davidson is back. Only place for Palka is RF when he should clearly be the DH. Lol, what happens when Avi comes back from his extended spring break?
