    Agree with sending Giolito down when Rodon is ready. Not that I've given up on Giolito but it's clear he just cannot pitch in the majors right now.

    I noticed it as well. I was going to post that Eloy hit a homer but you beat me to it. When I went back to the box score his name was removed from home runs, then Rose's name pops up.

    Someone messed up but n the box score. Now it reads Eloy had a K and Rose with a 2R HR.

    Yikes! That's a bad cleanup hitter. Kopech is still young and IMHO has things to work yet before he gets called up. The four walks and 57 strikes out of 100 pitches shows he still needs to work on command and control of his pitches.

    Nice come back. I thought for sure Engel was toast after trying to bunt the first two pitches but he somehow managed to draw the walk. Jones made the 9th a little more interesting but he looks to be like he's getting more comfortable closing games.

    Salary relief isn't necessary to sign Machado. The Sox have plenty of space in the payroll to sign Machado and extend Abreu. Don't forget that Shields salary comes off the books at seasons end.

    A fine defender in CF ? If that were true the CF job would have been his from the start. Leury does OK for a player that's an infielder by trade but he's not a good center fielder. Not that Engel is the best CF, just the best one available.

    I really do not get where you're coming from. Fuck value, give the pitchers some defense behind them. Too many times I've see Leury, Delmonico and Palka look like they are chasing ghosts out there. We all know and it should go without saying that Engel is not the long term solution in CF. But him and his glove are fine for the time being until something better comes up from the minors, even if it's not until 2019.

    After seeing the shitty defense of Leury, Palka, Delmonico and how they've cost the young pitching countless runs, I'm fine with Engel for the time being.

    For me it depends on how other teams value Abreu. He might be worth more to the Sox than another team is willing to give up in prospects. If that's the case then keeping Abreu is the obvious choice.
