This is interesting... https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2017/12/red-...rade-talks.html

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 03:23 PM) Seriously, the Cubs are committing some big dollars to guys with serious health issues in the past. Cobb will probably be next to join the fray. Yeah they are and the train keeps rolling. Read somewhere that the cubs want to have Cobb signed by Monday. Would be nice if the Sox could get Nate Jones healthy. There's still some potential for a nice haul down the road.

Cubs better hope that arm doesn't fall off after the Dodgers used and abused Morrow in the playoffs.

QUOTE (TheHugeUnit @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 02:42 PM) LOL what? Gardners contract is not a bad contract, if anything Ellsbury for Samardzija and hope Rothchild can bring some of that magic back to him. Ellsbury has a full NTC, he isn't leaving NY. That's why I put Gardner in the mix but you're right, Gardner's contract isn't bad.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Dec 10, 2017 -> 12:22 AM) Come back to reality and bask in the sunlight of logic and reason. Your heart rate will thank you. What direction is reality from Oz? It's been scientifically proven that the sunlight of logic and reason is incapable of penetrating the deep, very deep, rabbit hole. No worries about the heart rate though. Conspiracy rabbits are naturally wound up like a crack head so a high heart rate is the norm. Did you know, conspiracy rabbits are closely related to the headless chicken? Now you know why NASCAR drivers are always wrecking. Makes sense now, doesn't it.

QUOTE (JUSTgottaBELIEVE @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 10:39 PM) So who starts at 3b? I don't think the Yankees are high on Headley since they had Todd freakin Frazier playing over him last year after the trade. And, reportedly, Headley is on the block; https://nypost.com/2017/12/09/why-stanton-d...at-at-meetings/ From what I've read, the Yanks really like Andujar for 3B. Headley and Gardner both make a lot of sense for the Giants.
-
Clint Frazier would make a nice headliner for Chris Archer. Yanks and Giants match up well for a trade of bad contracts. Yanks could use another SP ( Jeff Samardzija ) and the Giants could use upgrades in the corner OF ( Brett Gardner ) and 3B ( Chase Headley ) positions.
-
Nate Jones, never forget.
-
Ironic that it's the Yanks that ended up with Stanton and not Boston. Curious to see what the level of interest is in Abreu this week.
-
Glad Stanton and Ohtani found their new homes. Now we should see plenty of action during the meetings. Gonna be fun to keep track of.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 07:48 AM) Just saw a rumored package of Castro, Andujar, & Tate. If true, the Marlins are coming out as big losers and should have just waited. OOF! That is ugly. Agreed on waiting. There just isn't enough teams with the money and prospects, then factor in Stanton's refusal to be traded to select teams and there's not many teams left for the Marlins to work with. The Marlins have no leverage, at all. I bet Jeter just wants this nightmare to be over with. Also. Loria really helped stick up Jeter's ass too. Well done Loria/Stanton.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Dec 9, 2017 -> 07:27 AM) I really hope the Yankees at least gave up a lot of young talent. The Marlins don't have the leverage now that Stanton has rejected STL and SF. Just a guess, but I'm thinking the Yanks will give up less than what SF offered. Man, Stanton really stuck it up Jeter's ass.
-
Brewers have plenty of talented young outfielders in their system. Didn't realize they were that loaded. Would love to snag Grisham somehow.
-
Geez. Stanton and Judge in the same lineup is a scary thought. Modern bash brothers.
-
James. Shields. Come on Brewers, you know you want him.
-
Stanton is sitting right there for the picking. Watch Houston end up trading for Stanton.
-
Thought Seattle had this in the bag. Congrats to the Angels for signing Ohtani, glad it wasn't the cubs.

The Orioles aren't contending in the ALE with as strong as Boston and NY are and with Boras as his agent, you can bet Machado is going to FA next year. Baltimore should trade Machado, just not to the White Sox.

QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 11:20 AM) Looks like the Rangers got him. https://twitter.com/SandlerJ/status/938456493028003841 Yay, a decision! QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) Other tweets of his say no Ohtani. It's Mike Minor who's deal just became official. Buzz kill. QUOTE (Sockin @ Dec 6, 2017 -> 11:22 AM) Yeah just saw that nevermind. Tease.

QUOTE (GenericUserName @ Dec 5, 2017 -> 10:50 PM) From a fangraphs chat: https://www.fangraphs.com/blogs/fangraphs-a...ark-chat-12517/ How would you guys feel about that deal? That trade offer inspires me to keep Abreu and try to extend him.
-
Please Stanton, choose the Giants. The White Sox and Cardinals match up too good for a trade.

QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Dec 3, 2017 -> 09:03 PM) They can't have a good chance of signing him. I don't think they do. West coast looks to be the preference and Seattle makes the most sense.

This place ongoing to erupt if Ohtani sings with the cubs.
