  1. Severino vs Verlander at 7 CT No lineups as of yet.
  2. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 03:22 PM) Lol I noticed that as well and joke about it often. About how he somehow manages to bring the Royals into a lot of discussion that have nothing to do with them. Yep. Just wait until the off season begins and the big name free agents are being discussed in the media. We're going to see some hilarious posts. " sign ______, who cares, Sox can afford him" and " JR is cheap for not signing _______, JR you bastard!" Last spring that same poster was clamoring to sign Pedro Alvarez and then complained when the Sox had no interest. Funny thing is that no team had interest in signing Alvarez to an MLB deal because he just flat out sucks.
  3. No chance the Yanks would have interest in Schwarber. They have Bird as their future 1B and a healthy Clint Frazier will take over LF and move Gardner to DH. Betances has three arbitration years left so I doubt the Yanks have given up on him yet. As dominant as the Yanks pen is, imagine if they get Betances back on track? Schwarber is literally the new and not improved Pedro Alvarez. More and more teams are shying away from those types.
  4. What's Eloy's defense like in the outfield? Will he go to LF or will Avi move to LF when Eloy is called up? Great to hear Eloy is mashing at such a high level of competition. I'm starting to wonder if he has a strong ST the Sox put him in Charlotte to start the '18 season.
  5. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 12:53 PM) Seby Zavala so far in his 4 AFL games: 6-for-12, 2 2B, 3:2 BB:K. As a catcher he's thrown out 3 of 6 attempting to steal. Others: Tito Polo (5 G): 4-for-20, 1:7 BB:K, 3 SB (2 CS) Danny Mendick (5 G): 4-for-19, 0:6 BB:K, playing mostly shortstop Dylan Covey (2 starts): 8 IP, 13 H, 5 ER, 0 BB, 3 K Jace Fry (3 games): 3 IP, 3 H, 2 ER, 0 BB, 4 K Connor Walsh (3 games): 3 IP, 5 H, 5 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, 1 HRA Matt Foster (3 games): 3 IP, 10 H, 6 ER, 0 BB, 2 K, 1 HRA I know Collins made good progress behind the plate but is Zavala still the better catcher between the two?
  6. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 02:39 PM) Rizzo had a very good year. Is there a player more consistent? He hit 32 homers, 109 RBI this year; 32 hrs, 109 RBI also in 2016; 31 homers, 101 RBI in 2015 and 32 homers, 78 RBI in 2014. No way the Cubs will go for Hosmer if they have Rizzo. Wonder who wants Hosmer desperately? This is the second time you've brought Hosmer into a discussion that has nothing to do with it. Stop, you're loyalty to the royal blue is showing. Before you can ask, this was your first time. http://www.soxtalk.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=104044
  7. Schwarber to the Sox for James Shields and Dylan Covey. Had to say before someone else did. Carry on...
  8. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 20, 2017 -> 09:05 AM) Cubs fans were very salty on the score this morning. Between the texts and the calls, they either want the team blown up or trade away players. Bryant is a bum and so and so needs to go now. They even were bashing the front office. That's hilarious man. Thanks for posting their thoughts.
  9. I'm not surprised either with the poor managing during the the Nat's/cubs series. Baker couldn't out-manage Jooe Maddon when Maddon was at his worst. It looked like, anything you can do I can worse.
  10. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 11:29 PM) If they did 4 team divisions, they’d have to play 27+ games each against division opponent to avoid division winners getting in under .500. I can’t be more clear about this- eight divisions of four teams wouldn’t work in baseball. They aren’t playing that many games against division opponents and they aren’t risking division winners under .500. Maybe there's something in missing but I don't see where you're getting 27 games from because that's not what the post proposes.
  11. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:58 PM) 8 divisions of 4 teams wouldn't work in baseball, and they know that. The format above would result in division winners with losing records. The only division that could happen in is the NLE but the Mets dealt with alot of injuries this year and the Pirates would benefit by not playing the Cubs and Cards 19 times each per year. Both teams would have better records. Take the Astros out of the NLW this year and the angels would have been a .500 team and maybe even Seattle. The rest of the divisions in the proposed format would be fine.
  12. Lol. Sheffield suggested the cubs trade Heyward's bad contract for Ellsbury's bad contract. No chance the Yanks do that.
  13. I give Maddon credit, he's very humble in this interview.
  14. QUOTE (IowaSoxFan @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 11:06 AM) I stole this ideas that I like from the comments: AL East: BOS, BAL, TOR, NYY AL North: CLE, CWS, MIN, DET AL Midwest: COL, KCR, HOU, TEX AL West: LAA, OAK, POR, SEA NL East: MON, NYM, PHI, PIT NL South: ATL, MIA, TBR, WAS NL Midwest: CHC, CIN, MIL, STL NL West: ARZ, LAD, SDP, SFG 12 games against each team within division = 36 6 games against each team in league outside of division = 72 3 games against each team in other league = 48 Total = 156 I really like this idea alot and makes much more sense if the MLB does expand.
  15. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:28 PM) I can't wait to hear all the crying on the score in the morning and see what the moron Kaplan has to say. Please post the comments in this thread if you can. I stopped listening to the score when the Sox left.
  16. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:24 PM) I hate to say it but I turned the TV on just to see the Dodgers celebrate on the field. Be proud you did. After the cubs snapped my streak last night I tuned in for the whole game. So happy and I'm looking forward to the excuses all winter long.
  17. And Gregg has lost yet another house. Book it!
  18. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:14 PM) Tell that to the Cub fans on Twitter that are b****ing and moaning. I would be more than happy to but I'm not on twitter. Thank you Dodgers!!! Now hang that f***ing L , for the next 4+ months.
  19. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 10:07 PM) What was wrong with Q tonight? Did his velocity suck or something? I don't think Q looked bad at all. It's just that the Dodgers did their homework reviewing video of him. Q hit his spots, but the Dodgers hit him well.
  20. If the Yanks can can get past the Astros, we're going to see some amazing pitching from bullpens in the WS.
  21. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 09:38 PM) My God, Kaplan is such a moron. How he's employed/respected is beyond me. His lack of baseball knowledge is just depressing Agreed. Kaplan is everything that annoys me about cub fans and more. He's an over opinionated idiot that knows everything about absolutely nothing.
  22. This will not affect Q one bit. To think he would give a s*** about writers , sports show hosts and asshat like Kaplan think is just silly. Look at this way, Q now joins Kershaw, Sale, Price and others that have been lit up in the post season. It happens.
  23. QUOTE (KagakuOtoko @ Oct 19, 2017 -> 02:58 PM) I think Q gets shelled tonight. I don't think he's pitched this much in his career and I don't think the Dodgers want to give the Cubs any momentum. Kershaw wants to shake his boogey man and the Dodgers roll. Probably a similar scoreline to game 1, 5-2. Good call my man! I am enjoying this so much.
  24. QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ Oct 18, 2017 -> 11:10 PM) It's time for some Eloy Jimenez porn: https://twitter.com/SoxOn35th/status/919593705056718850 He's like 6-12 in his first 3 games with a HR and 3 walks. The league is usually considered AAAA quality. Good grief! Has that ball landed yet? He might have taken out a satellite with that shot.
