  1. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 07:28 PM) Oh I was hoping it would end here but I guess the Dodgers can take care of them. I hope. Well, there is hope. Cubs defense not looking so great.
  2. QUOTE (hi8is @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 07:25 PM) COME ON NATIONALS f*** THESE MOTHER f***ING FLUBBIES UP AND GO ON TO BURN IN DODGER GLORY! Ok, my "contribution" to this thread is over. Good night, Soxtalk. Leaving so soon? Like you have something better to do than watch this atrocious baseball game.
  3. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 07:23 PM) I will just watch this thread. Sounds like Washington is toast? Yes, unless Gio can settle down and the Nat's find a way to score on Hendricks.
  4. Heyward helps Gio big time. No reason to swing on 1-0 as wild as Gio has been. The way these teams are playing, the Dodgers should sweep.
  5. QUOTE (whitesoxjr27 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 05:08 PM) i have no idea how tonight game will go. If you're still at work and unable to watch, be glad.
  6. Nice Gio. That ball was behind the LH batters box to Bryant. WTF!
  7. Turner wasn't in a good position to put the tag on, he wiffed on a throw that beat Jay to second. s***...
  8. Covey starts today. No lineup yet but it should be up soon since the game starts in about 20 minutes.
  9. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:43 AM) I'm not sure you really read what I said there. I said I was actually hoping the ball didn't make it out, and resulted in a 3-run triple as a result of Happ screwing up the play. Gotcha, my bad chilli.
  10. QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 12:33 PM) Kevin Siegrist I'll look at the list later but this guy became a free agent recently. I believe you mentioned him last week, right? Southpaw reliever, IIRC. I like the idea.
  11. The Sox need bullpen help and Holland is an ex-royal. Oh s***...
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 11:25 AM) It will be a sad day when Cody Asche leaves the organization. Do not blaspheme, you take that back wite. Asche is a Sox legend. Don't believe me? Look at the header. That is one handsome White Sox dude.
  13. QUOTE (Jenksy Cat @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 09:37 AM) Greg can't name a single player in the minor leagues and therefore views them all on the same level. To him there is 0 difference between say Kopech and Puckett because both were traded for from a "despicable tanking team" You hit the nail on the head. Well said Jenksy. To be honest, I'm not really all that interested in Franco because I do believe the Sox already have their future 3B in Jake Burger and am willing to wait and see how he develops. It's the idea behind the proposed trade that I like and appreciate. Very well thought-out post and thread by TheFutureIsNear. I do have to correct myself in that Franco is 25, not 22 so my bad on that.
  14. QUOTE (TheFutureIsNear @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 08:11 PM) I'll start it off with my suggestion...Maikel Franco from the Phillies. They need pitching and have some infield depth. Wouldn't mind throwing a couple of our pitching prospects at the Phillies if they want to unload Franco. Wouldn't include any of Gio, Lopez, Kopech, Cease, or Hanson though. Who are some young names you'd like to see us acquire for relatively cheap this off season? QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 12, 2017 -> 12:05 AM) I hope we're not at the point where we want to trade the guys we got for the next WS team for other prospects. This madness has to stop. You take the guys we got and for better or worse they are the core of our next WS team. The trading is done unless you want to trade Avi and Abreu which I think is dumb. But the young guys we got in trades?? Geez we can't be talking about trading them. This is madness. At some point soon we need to win again. How many years in a row do you want to go sub .500?? 20-30 years in a perpetual rebuild? I repeat .. we do not trade the guys we've already traded for!! Please explain why you purposely ignored the bolded in your response to TheFutureIsNear. It's pretty clear you ignored that part and used the idea as an excuse to complain, again. The OP suggested NOT trading top pitching prospects to acquire the young 22 year old 3B in Franco. You do realize the Sox traded Gio Gonzalez not once but twice to bolster their hitting, right? Once for Thome and a second time for Swisher. Sometimes teams trade from a strength to bolster a weakness. Call the whaaaambulance.
  15. Yankees and Astros series should be a blast to watch.
  16. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:54 PM) I'm still hanging in there! Yes you are and good luck.
  17. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:50 PM) Can anyone tell me why Happ came in on defense for Heyward? Happ didn't bat for Heyward prior to that change, right? As much as I was hoping Taylor hit a grand slam, just as satisfying would have been a 3-run triple because Happ screwed up a flyball that Heyward would have caught. The basket caught that HR so it wouldn't have mattered who was in RF. As for why Happ was in for Heyward, I have no clue.
  18. Ha ha, my post season has been blown to hell.
  19. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Oct 11, 2017 -> 10:27 PM) Everyone I talked with mentioned the Indians advancing to the World Series. They won 21+ (??) games in a row and were the hottest team. The Yankees are great for sure, but man, this is crazy! I had the Indians pegged for the WS and winning it. That's baseball and I love it. Always a surprise.
  20. Holy s***. Heads up base running by Frazier. 5-2 Yanks and still batting.
  21. I give the Yankees FO credit. They traded for what their team needed without giving up their best prospects. They still have Torres and Adams to bring up next year and possibly Sheffield too. That team is going to be scary good for years to come. Ha ha, sucks for Boston.
