  1. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 11:05 PM) That didn't last. I'd be happy if the Sox stay at 3. I kinda think that will happen. If we could only convince Cleveland to stick around a fw more games, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.
  2. QUOTE (flavum @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 10:42 PM) Only down one now. They've made it closer than I thought they would. Still three outs to work with.
  3. That'll do pig, that'll do. Well, the Sox are keeping pace with SF for the top pick next year.
  4. QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 10:18 PM) Would love to see TA finish the year strong. Same here. Time heals and that's what Timmy needed. To speak plainly, it f***ing sucks losing a loved one and it's not something that's easy to accept or move on from.
  5. This sucks. Went from 4-6 games a day down to one. Sad panda. Does anyone broadcast winter ball from the Caribbean or Oz? Would be awesome to watch some baseball over the winter. I miss baseball way too much during the off season.
  6. Jameson, Frye, Burger and possibly a Beer next year? Sounds good to me.
  7. Five teams within 2 games of one another playing for one spot. I love baseball!
  8. The irony in this is priceless. Chris Sale once accused VMart of stealing signs and now Boston is accused of using an apple watch to steal signs. At least Boston learned that binoculars are a bit too obvious.
  9. Stone is the best. Giving Sox fans the physics behind scuffing the baseball. Good stuff Stoney!
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 01:34 PM) Plus he was an absolute asshole on top of being f***ing awful. https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/n/navarja01.shtml This was the first and only name that came to mind when I read bmags post.
  11. QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 08:48 AM) Suggesting this again: Ryan McMahon for Avi, who says no? The Rockies say no. They have plenty of outfielders as is.
  12. QUOTE (Real @ Sep 5, 2017 -> 04:28 AM) He needs to hit more XBH to make his defense tolerable Was throwing out Lindor at second tolerable? I though it was a pretty damn good play.
  13. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Sep 4, 2017 -> 02:03 PM) Still think D-Rob alone was worth a Top 100 prospect, Frazier netting 2 top 12-15 org. prospects, and Kahnle nets a small package as well...Combine that and the return is better than Rutherford...Yanks had much more talented prospects to offer as well I'm sure if there was a better deal or if Hahn could have gotten more he would have. Personally, I wouldn't have been willing to give up as much as the Sox received. I just don't see the additional value in Robertson/Frazier/Kahnle that others do.
  14. QUOTE (ron883 @ Sep 3, 2017 -> 06:48 PM) http://www.wnff.net/index.php?topic=34710.925 Some good stuff in there Wow. I didn't read all of what was said but some of those fans are desperately trying to convince themselves that Eaton is more than what he is and that Giolito/Lopez/Dunning are nothing special. Talk about being in denial. Especially the person that said " Rizzo fleeced the White Sox". Lol, yeah sure.
  15. QUOTE (ChiSoxJon @ Sep 3, 2017 -> 10:25 PM) Agreed, least exciting headlining acquisition of Hahn's for me Still think CWS should have got more in that deal Clarkin I still think will be an MLB starter (if healthy) and Polo a solid 4th OFer I think Clarkin was a fantastic get. Before his injury, he was a damn good prospect and the Yanks were very high on him. Clarkin still has a good pitching repertoire so if the Sox can get his health back on track, he's one to keep an eye on for sure. I second your nomination of Polo as the fourth outfielder. Have read some good stuff about Polo and Yanks fans liked him alot. Plus, I admit, I just love the name Tito Polo. Tito Polo!!!
  16. The difference between last year and this is that Sale doesn't have to face the ALC as often. If he were in the Central still, his numbers would be similar to 2016. Not trying to take anything from Sale, he's a great pitcher, but for the most part the Central teams have hit him well.
  17. QUOTE (hi8is @ Sep 4, 2017 -> 01:01 AM) This is likely the best post you've made here. ???? Even better than when I assist you in poop posting? That is impressive.
  18. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Sep 3, 2017 -> 10:54 PM) Couldn't have said it better. Even being Avi's biggest supporter it would be wrong to extend him based on one good year . They jumped the gun on Anderson and it still may work out but still need a larger body of good performance to extend him. Exactly. If giving Anderson an extension was premature then how would giving Avi an extension be any different? Sure, waiting one more season could cost more money but payroll isn't too much of a factor considering the last time I looked ( last week ) the Sox were projected to have a 15-16M payroll. I won't worry one bit if waiting costs the Sox a few more bucks.
  19. Watched the whole game. Giolito and Smith had a really good rhythm today. The future is bright Sox fans!
  20. What's the rush in determining Avi's future? He's raised his value no doubt but not enough to ask for an over-pay in a trade or offer an extension to. I'd like to see what he how he's playing when the ASB comes around next year.
  21. Avi doesn't have the trade value yet. If the idea is to trade Avi then give him all of the 2018 season to boost his stock and then dangle him on the trade market over the 2018/19 winter as a much cheaper alternative to signing Harper. If the idea is to keep Avi long term, let's see how he performs next year and go from there. Great thing about Avi is that there's no pressure to trade or extend him. Just wait and see..
  22. Always an adventure with Minaya.
  23. Damn! That was pretty close, nice try for the triple play. I'll take the two outs.
  24. No comments about the rain delay video's? My eyes still hurt. Nice HR Avi!
