  1. Is this the first time there are 3 whitesox winners in the same season? Edit: Yes it is. We've had 2 winners 4 times. The last time 2014. This is the first time with 3 winners.
  2. And a testament of how good this offense really was.
  3. This might discourage a number of teams interest in him. Maybe the sox too.
  4. Was it tjs? I knew he was hurt this year.
  5. I see Tommy Kahnle elects free agency today from the Yankees. He pitched in only 1 game this season. But was decent in 19. In 18 was terrible.
  6. This is what I want. But Harold already said that Tony will be bringing in his own people. And we're probably not going to like it. Either way we will probably know the fallout pretty soon and who the new staff is.
  7. I actually kind of like the post. At least he admits that there are some out there that don't support this move. I guess now he has something to prove. I'm also really curious about what he thinks of this team. The bullpen, the pitching staff in general.
  8. I just don't pay attention to him. But that's a good point.
  9. Oh I agree completely! This is my worry too. Also, it really does concern me that not a single player (veteran or otherwise) has tweeted out support about their new manager. I realize as fans we probably had a bit of an overreaction to this yesterday (sarcasm). But I do tend to think we as fans are a bit of a barometer of how the players feel with this too.
  10. I guess I'm confused. I don't see how that's a power grab for firing Ricky. Which was well deserved and as you said agreed upon. He kinda threw Ricky under the bus after the Cubs game. With Cordero throwing at Contreras. Which led to RR and Cordero's ejection.
  11. So do they really think Rick is going to leave?
  12. No, Canseco is strength and conditioning. ?
  13. Well yeah!!! I imagine Tony's interview looked brilliant compared to Willie Harris'. Lol
  14. Well I do wonder about our hitting coach. Is his job safe?
  15. This is kinda unprecedented isn't it? Someone coming out of retirement- already enshrined in the HOF - to continue to do what they were put in there for
  16. Yeah bmags. He was. This one is a head scratcher. Not sure what Bruce is reporting here. Not sure what the sox are doing with Dave either. His health isn't the best anymore.
  17. I just got to think that they would do the same thing for Hinch, giving him assurances that they will spend money. The Sox aren't going to be the only team competing for Hinch - who has a very impressive resume in his own right.
  18. I think you're right. The state of California will not let any household/family gatherings larger than 4 people for Thanksgiving next month. 6 people if they are outside and socially distanced. Not sure if or how that will be inforced? But that's not my point. The point is if They're this strict with family gatherings they certainly will be with fans in the stadiums come opening day 5 months from now. Oh yeah and there are 5 teams in that state.
  19. So "how much will the Sox spend on free agents this year?" is a real tough question now more than ever. Maybe the better question is - how many payrolls will be cut this year around baseball? And will the whitesox be one of them?
  20. I was just about to post something similar. There is speculation that a playoff team from 2020 will be cutting next years payroll 40%. Most think its Cleveland. Mlbexecutive burner over on twitter is claiming ownership will claim $3.1 billion loss for this season without fans. That averages to over $100 million per team. Obviously some will be higher than others. Wouldn't be surprised if they start negotiating for a shorter season next year. Ownership will definitely want to change the financial constraints or structure that they were under for this pass season. I think the gm/owners meetings next month will have a different tone - covid-19 tone.
