  1. Now this is an interesting development. This certainly would take care of the Mazara issues we're having.
  2. I do like the idea of trading for Phelps from Milwaukee. Having a decent year and his stuff has been good in the past.
  3. If no moves are made, they could bring up Crochet. Or even Ty Johnson for a look. Is Ian Hamilton rehabbing or is he even coming back? I know this is only internal options.
  4. Josh Nelson seems to think it's for lower tier type players from Milwaukee like Anderson and or Phelps?
  5. It just depends on the return. Vaughn, Dunning, Kopech. really talented veteran players were traded away for the best prospects in the game. Which led to 3-4 yrs of terrible basebal that led to high draft picks. Alot of pain and time went in to acquiring these prospects-To just trade away for a rental? Or veteran with a couple of years of control? Most of the time these trades don't work out big picture wise. And you very easily affect your competing years down the road.
  6. Realistically I'm not sure there's anything we can do about it now, but I'm not comfortable with Colome as our closer in the playoffs. Not sure if we're gonna get Bummer back in time? And really not sure if there is anything out there?
  7. It's not that Dunning is untradeable. He isn't. It's just that what we saw in those 3 + innings of his debut is how he looked pre tj surgery in the minors quite often. He has 4 pitches, Good velocity, and pitching IQ. A high floor guy who will always be solid. At 25 years old with at least 5 yrs of control. I would really hesitate to even consider trading Dunning for a 33 year old pitcher with only 1 more season of control.
  8. I know they signed Elijah. But there is a 3rd brother whom looks favorable for the sox to sign. And it would be this possible 1st draft year.
  9. Yeah, and you know I was thinking about this. Although this is probably a question for another topic. How will that first international draft work? Wouldn't every team have players already locked up from 2 or 3 years previous? So when your team is on the clock wouldn't you just draft the kid you already have an agreement with? The kid that you know and are excited about? All of these agreements are because of money previously agreed upon. But there will still be a draft pool of money allocated to each team just like the regular draft. Right? So the money might have to be tweaked some. Probably details discussed in the new cba. And I imagine after the first draft it will smooth out and feel more like every other draft. It's just the first one I think will be strange. And the sox might have the youngest of the Tatis brothers too in this draft. Whom dad says might be the most talented of the 3! All we can do is wait to see how all of this unfolds.
  10. Please Rick. Do not trade Dunning! You will regret this. Sox nation will regret this. He will be so good.
  11. Yeah I thought he was in Schaumburg. They just showed him taking ab against one of our top pitching prospects. Fegan or Fox posted it this week.
  12. What's Pittsburgh going to do with this money? Is there anybody left in this signing period? I know who cares about Pittsburgh. Just wondering. Seems odd. Unless they really can't afford Dyson? As for the Sox I like the move. No brainer.
  13. Yeah I could see him being another Leuery Garcia type. I think that would be a good comp and a good career.
  14. Your right. I just keep thinking James Shields 2.0. Maybe not as extreme but definitely on the bad side of the trade.
  15. Thank you. I agree completely! Not for a year plus control. Dunning has a high floor. Could be a #3 at least a #4 for 5 - 6 yrs. That's too much. Dunning was a top 100 prospect 2 years ago. If the minors were open for business I think Stiever would creep in top 100.
  16. Congrats #27! Also, holy freakin cow am I glad Engel was the right fielder tonight.
  17. Some of the writers at future sox have heard it to. Sleepy Harold maybe?
  18. Darvish just smiles. Tip your hat. Nothing you can do.
  19. I actually had a cubs fan tell me today that the sox are hitting too many homeruns. That we can't manufacture any runs. I'm like really? I looked at him and told him that it didn't hurt Minnesota last year when they homered their way to the playoffs.
  20. What a great impact our new hitting coach has had! What a great hire! ?
