So I guess it probably would of taken a Cease, Zavala, and Adams? Or maybe Pinkelton instead of Adams? That's alot for 2yrs control of the best catcher.
I totally agree! He's go such a funky delivery. I heard Melton say once that opposing hitters have a hard time picking up the ball because of the delivery. Perfect for facing 1 - 3 batters out of relief. I know he had the occasional good srart. But his struggles have alot to do with going through the lineup- especially more than once and struggling with command. Like Chili said earlier he has done alot of work this offseason. I'm intrigued to see what it translates to.
Yeah, I believe she started it. I thought a few others jumped in arguing about it. When was that? Was that around Soxfest? Or did he post something since?
I have always felt during this process, that the Sox probably have an offer on the table to each of them. Who ever commits first - the other offer is pulled. I mean, I would love both but it's just not gonna happen.
I know someone was saying the Padres wanted to negotiate an extension with realmuto first. I don't really see that happening but, Sonny Gray just did with the reds. So who knows?
Idk, that paul crane guy seems to be all over the place. I mean with the Padres stuff. Could sign at any moment sort of thing. Padres would like to meet face to face first?
Hahn said at Soxfest that it was going to be a couple of weeks before there is a decision by Manny. So I guess its going to be a couple of weeks. Maybe longer. We just sit back and wait.
The reason I mentioned that was because you really don't see a lot of contracts over 7 or 8 years. There's really only been about a dozen or so? Idk maybe more? Which is something outside the box he might consider. With that in mind, all of the top talent coming up in the system certainly helps those considerations.
But you're right. Money is the main consideration.
