QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 01:13 PM) Resting? What? Toews is Day to Day and suddenly sits out the rest of the regular season?

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 12:27 PM) Chicago Blackhawks @NHLBlackhawks 6m Coach Q: Oduya is expected to return to the lineup vs. MTL. Kane has been skating and could practice with the team as early as tomorrow. I think it's a real possibility the Hawks are close to 100% by next week, Q did a good job resting his 2 star players and I like the benching of Saad since Morin has been stepping it up,providing a much needed spark.

Rienzo barring any injury -
QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 10:56 AM) Will Gillaspie sit vs the LHP today? I'll say the lineup is: Eaton, Semien, Abreu, Viciedo, Garcia, Konerko, Flowers, Garcia, Johnson Today is split squad or inter squad?

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Apr 8, 2014 -> 11:45 AM) Sox bounce back and take the next two. Take it to the bank. Count me in!

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 03:13 PM) Any word on what has happened to him? Injury? http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2014/03/rang...mmy-hanson.html looks like he was just too average for an already depleted Rangers rotation.

QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 09:09 AM) The Winter Soldier was great. It's amazing how different the two Captain America movies are. First one is kinda of campy and the new one is serious modern political thriller. The 3rd one should easily be better, I'm glad this has easily become the best series out of the rest (IM 3 wasn't doing much for me,Thor is blah).

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 02:57 PM) Soldier Field area would be horrific for a baseball team playing 81 home games. A traffic nighmare on LSD every night. Not really easy public transportation access either. It's OK for the Bears because it is mainly on Sundays and 10% of the amount of games. The South Loop at Roosevelt was the spot. Could have had the downtown workers after work, a riverwalk, open to the skyline, close to public transportation. Everything is right there, Even today Roosevelt has been fixed pretty cleanly and is thriving. Maybe they can move the stadium piece by piece over to South Loop.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 01:40 AM) Yeah I don't get it either. He's a point machine. Q must be worried about his defense. Pirri and Hayes seem to be doing fine in Florida, Q was worried about their D too.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 08:14 AM) Yep. And Zoe Saldana plays Gamora, who is Thanos' adopted daughter. GotG is going to be fun and ridiculous When they announced it i though it would look stupid in live action but after seeing a couple trailers I'm actually pretty warm on it,can't wait now, also XMEN:DOFP looks legit too, been waiting on that for a couple years.

All i got from this was a few funny comments at the end of the article and the very clear fact the author is from Portland.

QUOTE (Bigsoxhurt35 @ Apr 6, 2014 -> 05:42 PM) Oh ok well he was 22 when we got him. No biggie. He went 2-4 today with 2 doubles and 2 RBIs. No Ks is nice Last year Conor sucked it up defensively and his offense left alot to be desired, this year both Our newly acquired future 3rd Baseman and Gillaspie are tearing it up. Hopefully it stays that way and we have a good "problem" on our hands.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 7, 2014 -> 12:45 AM) Webb will close by June. And that's from the top. Does that make lindstrom demoted or shipped?

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 09:08 AM) Pacers lose to the Raptors, who don't even have Lowry or Johnson. And Paul George gets in a shoving match with john salmons. The wheels are off this train The pacers missed their last 7 shots on what turned into a 10-0 run for the raptors. Choke 101. When the Pacers get eliminated so will Vogel.

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 04:06 PM) See: bad hockey. Dude I meant to ask you, did you want that Crawford jersey in red or white? Sorry for the delay. So our champ defense suddenly goes to sh**? and what the heck, you sell Jerseys?!?!

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 5, 2014 -> 04:34 AM) PITCHf/x at brooksbaseball.net had his average fastball velo at 89.72 today vs. 92.78 last September. Just one start but worrying nonetheless. 1st Regular Season start of the year.'nuff said.

QUOTE (Charlie Haeger's Knuckles @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 01:46 PM) Gotta say, It's nice having legit depth in AAA, though it is just a middle reliever. Semien is another example. Beckham goes down, Sox don't miss a beat. It actually seems like the Sox gain a beat when Beckham goes down. Not wishing him injury or anything

QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 09:52 AM) No no no, let's not give them the hangover excuse here. Go look at the Bruins. A lot of this is the holes in the roster being exposed. And bad hockey. Offensively I'll give that statement the benefit of the doubt but what about defensively which has been by far our achillies heel this year. Our Defense aside from the 4th shift is last years championship defense. Keith and Hjarmy look especially off.

QUOTE (Hawkfan @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 11:24 AM) good thread. Our pitching staff has been so good for so long I've taken it for granted. I haven't really cared whether or not Bmac, hudson, or santiago do good. Hopefully I won't have to, but in general I hope the players that leave here do well, especially 2005 players. Uribe was my favorite, with his outlaw move of charging slow rollers with a backhand. Currently, it looks like Dunn and Viciedo will be leaving next, and I'll rooting for them, even though it won't be sad to see them go. fingers still crossed for Viciedo. That's if they don't trade DeAza while the getting is good. For all we know, Viciedo is back in LF by June/July -

QUOTE (GreatScott82 @ Apr 3, 2014 -> 08:30 AM) I'll cheer for Buerhle every time. He will return to finish his career with us. I just have a hunch I'll cheer for AJ and Uribe as well. Pretty much anybody who was part of I the '05 squad. And that does include BMac It will be good for the organization if Reed and Santiago succeed because most GMs can recognize that from afar. I also hope Eaton and Davidson rock the house for us!!!! I think Addison has the best chance to succeed especially if he stays healthy, keeps developing his slider and his failures at his young age should mature him as a pitcher quickly. I liked Santiago but realistically I don't think he sticks as more than a spot started, long reliever.Kid has great stuff but sometimes he becomes a mental midget. Beurhls,AJ are in a class of their own.Sox 4 life. -
QUOTE (raBBit @ Apr 4, 2014 -> 11:11 AM) He's a guy who would make a lot of sense. It depends what SF thinks of him longterm I suppose. There will be a lot at work there in San Fran. They have two RH middle of the order guys in Pence and Posey and may be losing Sandoval. From what I remember Sandoval wasn't held in the highest regard out there. His weight fluctuations have pissed off management. I would think they would be more willing to lock up a younger Belt and let Sandoval walk. The possibility of moving Posey to 1B could have a big role in their decision on Belt as well. I for one, want to add the true professional Victor Martinez. Older guys are going to be the new market inefficiency. Sign him to a two year deal and you're not handcuffed and most likely have an outstanding middle-of-the-order, seasoned vet. He would make a great cleanup hitter and should thrive behind Abreu, in our ballpark, in a division he is very familiar with. CF Eaton 2B Semien 1B Abreu DH Martinez RF Garcia C Grandal LF De Aza/Viciedo 3B Davidson SS Alexei/other I agree, I think if they feel Belt is the answer then Sandoval will definitely be allowed to walk and I wouldn't touch Pablo, dude looks like a wreck waiting to happen with switching leagues and getting older. Last thing this team needs is a Dunn 2.0 situation. Victor Martinez would be the ideal grab IF we can grab him, Detroit might want to keep him behind Miggy but can they pay him is the question.
