Nationals acquire Doolittle/Madson from As
oneofthemikes replied to Whisox05's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (spiderman @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 12:32 PM) I'd prefer the best possible talent back, regardless of position, but another IF would be nice to add to the mix! Robertson and some cash to the Nats for Carter Kieboom and Luzardo is my dream at the moment. -
Q may get moved "sooner than you think"

QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Jul 13, 2017 -> 08:38 AM) This really hit a screeching halt. I can't believe we got sucked in again. This happened every two weeks or so from December to April and we fell for it EVERY SINGLE TIME. I feel like we should really know better by now. -

QUOTE (raBBit @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 05:34 PM) I don't think the Rockies trade for Q. Seems that Braves are working hard at the moment. Any shot at Acuna? He'd be my headliner of preference. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 11, 2017 -> 03:56 PM) Really prefer Albies isn't main piece. Seeing a few scouting reports lately that he's a bad hitter from the left side. 100% agree. Maitan or Acuna would be my preference. Then maybe Allard or Newcomb. Hopefully RH can swing Alex Jackson too.

Interesting exchange between RaBBit and Josh Nelson from SSS @BrianBilek_ #WhiteSox are one of five teams who haven't announced a starting pitcher for Friday night. Coincidence? Perhaps. 4:06 PM - 11 Jul 2017 @SSS_joshnelson Replying to @BrianBilek_ Tomorrow could be a busy day 4:08 PM - 11 Jul 2017 @BrianBilek_ Replying to @SSS_joshnelson Yeah I'm leaning towards Q never pitches for Sox again. 4:27 PM - 11 Jul 2017 -
QUOTE (FT35 @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 07:43 PM) Kinda funny...I live in Fort Wayne and Tatis plays here for the TinCaps. They played an afternoon game today at home and the highlight on the 5:00 local news was Tatis drilling a triple off the right center field wall--right off the sponsored billboard that I designed for the small business I work for here in the Fort. I took it as a personal attack reminder of how good he is and how bad that trade was! He does look real good, but then again, Rymer Liriano was the last "greatest thing" to hit here...and well...you know him... I'm in Ft Wayne as well and I know what you mean. Well, sorta. He's not launched any personal attacks on me, but it's not been fun seeing what could have been a solid Sox prospect playing in my backyard everyday. Especially when I've been watching the guy he got traded for implode every 5 days.

QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 10, 2017 -> 02:11 PM) I wouldn't personally make an Astros deal without Kyle Tucker included. This. I've been an enormous Kyle Tucker fan since before he was drafted. I was really bummed that he wasn't still available when the Sox picked. In my opinion, I don't think I'd pull the trigger on a deal that wasn't headlined by Tucker. Maybe RH views things different though.

All Star Game No Longer Determines Home Field in WS

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ Jul 5, 2017 -> 12:47 PM) Since fans vote and influence the starting lineup, it shouldn't count. This is basically what I've been saying for a long time. As far as I'm concerned, there are only 2 options. 1) No fan vote and make it count. 2) Fan vote and make it fun. -
QUOTE (Dam8610 @ Jun 27, 2017 -> 11:17 AM) Mike Trout should be the most valuable 24th pick of all time. And in a White Sox uniform. The Sox picked 23rd in that draft. Randal Grichuk was the 24th pick, also to the Angels. But your point still stands.

QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jun 22, 2017 -> 07:20 AM) What's the obsession with people wanting to trade the team's best players? Anytime a player has success, there seems to be a thread about what the Sox could get for him from another team. How about this, keep your good players and build a winning team with them. Lol. What do you think the last 3 seasons were about? This is still the early stages of a rebuild and the way that you build something sustainable is by continuously adding talent to the minor league system. Based on the players that have already been acquired, it's safe to assume that the Sox don't have any intention to win much this season or next. Their window is 2020 and beyond. Avi doesn't necessarily fit in that plan. But the guys that he could bring back in a trade would.

What's the story with high rated guys that have fallen a long way? Guys like Tanner Burns, Evan Skoug, Tristan Beck, and others that were rated in the top 75 talents in the draft are still around in the 7th round. Signability concerns?

QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 9, 2017 -> 09:59 AM) New Callis mock. Kendall again. So much consensus. http://m.mlb.com/news/article/235304580/ro...picid=151437456 Gross. Way too much swing and miss in his game. Don't want another toolsy athlete that will be great if we can teach him how to hit. I can just see him becoming another Mitchell or Hawkins.

QUOTE (Real @ May 24, 2017 -> 04:45 PM) You can kiss the value Q had in the off-season goodbye. 4.82 ERA atm. lol Yup. A lot of us were saying that the potential increase in return wasn't even close to being worth the risk of running him out there this season. His value was at its peak the day after his WBC start. He shouldn't have started a single game for the Sox this year.

QUOTE (Sockin @ May 22, 2017 -> 04:29 PM) FWIW Law was just on ESPN and said he hasn't seen him in person but the scouts he's talked to that has have given him mixed reviews. He said every scout said he can run and the power is there but no one is sure he's going to be able to hit. He said is he were in this year's draft he'd be picked in the teens. Law is a clown. He's like Colin Cowherd in that he just takes contrarian stances on things because it generates discussion. If Frank Thomas were a prospect today, Law would be first in line to question his ability to hit for average and tell us that his power might not ever develop.

Is it possible that Willy Garcia could turn into something similar to Marcell Ozuna? Similar frames and minor league numbers. Maybe I'm aiming too high, but he was the guy who came to mind.

Friend is a Cards fan and he just texted me and suggested "Kelly, Bader, and 2 pitching prospects not named Reyes."

QUOTE (beautox @ Feb 8, 2017 -> 09:44 AM) I feel the same way. I think Jennings gets paired with him and its a 4-2 or 5-2 deal with Martes and Tucker coming back and some combination of Reed/Perez/Laureano/Stubbs Good call. 5 for 2 would be great. Q and Jennings for Martes, Tucker, Reed, Perez, and Laureano seems fair. -
Robertson to WASH was close, now at stalemate

Methinks teams are gunshy about dealing with Ricky after seeing what he did to the Red Sox and Nationals in the Sale and Eaton deals. -

Juan Soto is a young guy that that I'd love for the Sox to grab. He's a long way from the Majors, but he would be an exciting player to keep an eye on. -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Feb 3, 2017 -> 02:59 PM) And that would be basically #30 draft slot money. Big deal. It's not like a top of the line guy is dropping. And then your pool is depleted for the 75th on down. Yeah, it's not like a guy that's projected to go 1-1 will slide all the way to the 2nd round and get drafted by the Sox. That's never happened before. -

International Bonus Pool money can be traded, right? And the Astros were also just gifted $2M by the Cards. -

QUOTE (striker @ Feb 3, 2017 -> 10:24 AM) If the Rays turned down Martes, Tucker, Paulino, +2 prospects for Archer, then that would be my starting point for Quintana, except I don't want Paulino. I listened to the TalkingStros podcast with Jim Callis. Callis called Quintana underated one moment, then called him a solid #3 another. And his job is to evaluate players for a living. The host suggested Fisher, Paulino, Moran and the #75 pick. Q would out perform that. Fisher, Paulino, Moran, and a pick doesn't even start a conversation IMO -

Interesting that he mentions Chapman and "slamming the door" in the article. Possible that Robertson is packaged up with Q for another body or two? Maybe something like a 6 for 2 swap? Q and DRob for Tucker, Reed, Paulino, Perez, Laureano, and Stubbs? -

QUOTE (shipps @ Feb 2, 2017 -> 08:42 AM) I had a dream that they traded Q last night and it was so real that I woke up thinking that it happened. To who?! For what?! Maybe you're a prophet!
