  1. The difference between the Sox and Padres is that the middle tier of their farm is vastly superior to ours. Beyond our top 10 it quickly tails off.
  2. I like Musgrove, but what is the cost assuming their are quite a few suitors? I think clubs would like to see how FA plays out before dealing from their farm.
  3. If most clubs are out of international pool money, Colas might have to wait until 2022 in order to sign. Sox could absolutely still be in the mix for him then.
  4. Real Hendriks talk Who are the other potential suitors for him? If the rumored deal is 3/$39 million, I cannot see that many teams being willing to spend big on a closer in this market
  5. Sox could always sign a guy like Shin Soo Choo on the cheap to DH and then dump him once Vaughn proves ready
  6. Keeping Vaughn down is not even really playing the service time game. He has yet to face anything above high A ball pitching. No reason to rush our best prospect
  7. Paxton is a guy we should be very interested in. If healthy, he could be an outstanding #4 Just do not expect more than 130-150 innings out of him.
  8. Joc was pretty terrible in 2020 for what it is worth
  9. Tough decision ahead for the Sox. The tiny glimpse we saw in 2020 showed he can be an impactful bullpen arm right now, but it may be better to let him develop in the minors as a starting pitcher in the long run.
  10. I believe in giving second chances. It is difficult to argue that any other candidate out there has a stronger track record though.
  11. I think Hinch gets the job. Great track record of success with Astros. World Series champion. Would be a huge hire for the organization
  12. My gut is telling me Hinch's positive track record has him as a leading candidate for the job. This is shaping up to be a fun offseason for the Sox
  13. Highly unlikely that Vaughn could hold up and play passable defense in the major leagues at RF He simply does not have enough speed per scouting reports and would be a liability out there
  14. Really interesting they are calling up Crochet. I do wonder if this means Bummer/Rodon are not likely to return this season.
  15. I doubt the Sox rush Crochet to the majors at this stage. Why rush his development?
  16. I do not think the Sox are going to screw with one of their top prospects and ask him to play considerably out of position. Short of an injury, I think they leave him in Schaumburg and work to get him ready for the MLB in 2021
  17. Jonathan Stiever is looking like a quality draft pick^
  18. Sox would be wise to wait a few weeks and call him up late April
  19. That is not an ideal way for a true contender to go about managing a bullpen. Even though it is not always pretty, do not discount that Colome has gotten the job done for the Sox. I could see us bringing him back
  20. Bauer is going to be the most sought after free agent in what is looking to be a pretty weak overall FA class. He would be a great rotation addition, but I think he will get paid huge money given the lack of other quality SP options out there.
  21. I think the majority of Sox fans are loving every second of this ride, even the struggles, because we know what this roster is capable of doing. Nothing wrong with looking to the future, which should be very bright
  22. McCann will get paid starter money by another club this offseason. I'd love to bring him back, but I doubt it happens.
