  1. I highly doubt any of the above players would be made available for trade, and if they were the cost would likely be exorbitant
  2. Dunning throws strikes and has plus control, something I feel is huge in helping a pitcher stick in a starting rotation. I think fans will be really glad we held onto Dunning instead of dealing him.
  3. The entire core is locked up long term. Jimenez/Robert/Moncada/Madrigal/Vaughn all have lengthy control remaining
  4. This makes sense. Sox should look to be aggressive this offseason to add a SP via FA or trade. Kopech/Stiever/Lambert/Flores provide additional SP depth
  5. Hendricks has outstanding control, rarely allowing walks or HR's. I'm not saying it is impossible for Dunning to develop into more, just saying it is unlikely he can become more than a mid rotation arm. Either way, he's a valuable piece.
  6. Dunning throws strikes, Lopez does not. Dunning is a #4/5 on a quality team, a valuable rotation piece, but his stuff is unlikely to ever make him more than a mid rotation arm
  7. Rodon should be moved to the bullpen full time IMO I think he could be solid in short, one or two inning stints
  8. So far Dunning looks like he can be a really solid #4 or 5 pitcher that keeps you in ball games.
  9. The fact the Rangers held onto Lynn should tell you all you need to know about how high their asking price was. It made way too much sense for them to deal him at peak value and the declined to. Sox made the right call to not overpay
  10. maybe, I think the Sox were active in all of these trade talks, but balked at what other clubs were asking them for. Sox want to build a contender that will have mutiple playoff shots, not push too many chips in on a fluky 2020 mini season. Keep the long term vision intact.
  11. I do not believe that one bit^ One start does not completely change how an organization feels about a player like that
  12. https://twitter.com/jonmorosi/status/1300518710285918214?s=20
  13. I actually hope we do at this stage
  14. why overpay if a deal does not make sense?
  15. I would rather the Sox stand pat than overpay for help right now The young core is going to need waves of prospect depth to use as trade capital and injury depth
  16. I get that^ I just do not think Ray would change or fortunes all that much
  17. I'm a little surprised to see how willing many are to deal away from our limited minor league depth at this stage of the contention window as well. While guys like Stiever are far from untouchable, you really need to have that SP depth in your system moving forward due to injuries. I'd be cautious about trading close to the MLB talent right now.
  18. I think Sox deal for Kevin Gausman and give up a guy like Gavin Sheets David Phelps could be a possibility for a low level guy? Standing pat is not out of the question, but I think they make at least one trade. No major blockbuster expected.
  19. Ray would have been a roll of the dice with how terrible he has pitched in 2020. Not sure he ever made sense to the Sox
  20. lots of people forget how terrible Giolito was in 2018 before eventually figuring things out. Sox fans need to give Cease time, it is not an issue of stuff, but rather commanding his pitches consistently and hitting spots.
  21. very little White Sox smoke considering the deadline is less than three hours away
  22. As of right now, Cease most likely? Potentially Gio Gonzalez?
  23. have not seen that Heuer news. He is not traveling with the club?
