  1. Hell no to Dunning and Stiever for 36 starts of Lance Lynn Both of those guys are unknowns, but are each also close to MLB ready and have tons of cheap control
  2. I'd rather not deal Stiever or Collins just yet Lynn would help us down the stretch, but I do not think that trade happens between us and them
  3. I'm ok with that cost. I'd be surprised if Rangers could not get a better offer than that though
  4. A guy like Kuhl should not be all that costly to acquire
  5. For me it's not so much about Heuer, who I like but we have no clue what he will become, but rather Ray has been total crap this season
  6. Interesting Ray would be a pure rental, but he has also been pretty awful in 2020 so far. 9 home runs in 27 innings pitched scares me about what would happen at Comiskey. I think I'll pass
  7. This Trout talk is a pipe dream that will never happen That package would not even get the Angels to pick up the phone. Trout is going to finish his career as one of the best ever to play the game. Any theoretical trade package would have to be beyond what you could even imagine in terms of asking price.
  8. As he should be right at the start of our competitive window Beyond the obvious talent, we can easily jettison Encarnacion after 2020 and save nearly $11 million to spend towards pitching by having cheap Vaughn replace him. Young players are not just valuable because of their talent, but because you can pay them peanuts relative to what veterans will cost you. Encarnacion/Cishek/Herrera, heck even Gio Gonzalez, possibly Mazara/Colome coming off the books should theoretically give us a solid amount of payroll flexibility to go hunting this offseason
  9. I cannot imagine Boston trading Benintendi now when his value has tanked
  10. I'll agree with you that the farm depth is certainly lacking due to all of the recent promotions, but Vaughn is more than just a piece. Vaughn is an elite, advanced bat that is not far from being MLB ready. MLB Pipeline has him ranked #17 overall for a reason. He is not a guy they should consider trading with EE likely to be gone after 2020 and Abreu aging.
  11. Trout is not happening, agreed, for a variety of reasons. DeGrom would be a huge add, but I'm sure the cost would be exorbitant. You do not even want to know what the Mets would likely be asking for.
  12. Saw that Would be a poor move to deal that much young pitching for 36 ish starts of Lance Lynn. If we are dangling that sort of package I would be looking for a younger pitcher with more control if at all
  13. So many teams are still technically in the playoff hunt that I do not see there being all that much excitement in terms of trade deadline deals.
  14. Agreed, and Castellanos is a poor fit for the Sox moving forward given his suspect defense Mazara is likely the guy for 2020, and Sox can weigh bringing Mazara back, signing a FA or making a trade in the offseason for RF
  15. Robert being selective at the plate has impressed me big time. I hope his patience continues to get better the more MLB pitching he sees.
  16. If Robert is this good as a rookie, it is frightening how good he could become if he continues to improve at the MLB level I really think he has MVP potential
  17. Basabe is certainly not a top ten Sox prospect at this stage. There are considerable concerns about his bat playing at the MLB level. I am willing to bet Basabe does not get claimed and ends up returning to the Sox
  18. Braves are gaining quickly! We need everyone to vote votes in to hold the slim lead!
  19. In fairness, Sox fans have not shown up because the on field product has been garbage for a decade
  20. Sox are in the finals, time to vote guys
  21. Sox are going to need every vote they can get to win this thing Enthusiasm for the club is running high
  22. Sox fans, time to get out there and vote!!!!!!
  23. Service time is one thing, but this I agree with^ I believe he will be healthy and ready to go, but a month or two in AAA can go a long way towards proving his control is where it needs to be for 2020.
  24. This^ 2020 is all about Kopech rebuilding his strength and being healthy. I'd expect him to be sent down to AAA for April/May and then evaluate where he is at. Anything he provides the MLB club with this year is gravy.
