  1. If healthy Eloy is going to be a monster at offensively for the Sox. It's frightening to think about his hit tool getting better because he's only 22 years old. Our farm is very top heavy (not necessarily the worst thing), but building around Anderson, Moncada, Jimenez, Robert, Madrigal, Vaughn, Giolito, Kopech, Cease should be really fun
  2. A player with a 65/70 grade hit tool can still have a down 6 weeks like Madrigal had. He's quickly showing why he's such a touted prospect. Robert 2-2 today!
  3. If we can manage to win 75-80 games in 2019, I think expectations could be considerably raised for 2020 with the return of Kopech, addition of Cease, free agency, Robert, Collins, potentially Madrigal as well.
  4. I think the Sox have to keep McCann, and should explore going after Grandal in the offseason. I do not see how they could deal him with the limited catching depth in the organization. Colome should be dealt to the highest bidder
  5. Zero chance the Sox allow Alonso's option to vest for 2020. Him and Jay are totally gone.
  6. It would be foolish not to shop guys like McCann and Colome, at least to gauge what their market value would be. Relief help is always in demand at the deadline, and a guy like Colome should be an attractive trade chip.
  7. That was an outstanding defense club. We rode strong starting pitching and a veteran bullpen to a championship with a middling offense.
  8. He has top 15 in three years potential IF his body fills out, he continues to develop as projected, and his fastball sits 93-96. Dalquist will sign, teams do not roll the dice in the first few rounds without fully knowing prep prospects signing bonus demands to forego college. This was a quality pick in the third round and the Sox adjusted their entire draft strategy in order to get Dalquist into the mix. Really please we added two promising prep arms in Thompson and Dalquist. Our system needed more talent like this in the low minors to develop. Both are easily 5 years away from the majors.
  9. Since mid May he has been substantially better at the plate. I was saying by the end of June I think any fears about his bat will be over. He can flat out hit, field and run. He likely will never be one of the biggest stars in our lineup, but he's exactly the type of gritty player that helps you win championships.
  10. Soria was also a pure rental. Colome has another year of control which increases his value.
  11. Sox won't be able to cry poor this offseason. If they do not resign Abreu the payroll will be at around $30 million going into 2020. They have a TON of money to spend before they would even be close to league average.
  12. Really would depend on how Madrigal finishes the 2019 season. If he really finishes strong down the stretch, it's reasonable to think he may be ready for a callup early next season?
  13. Ozuna makes a ton of sense as a FA target for RF. He shouldn't be crazy expensive, but would be a solid starter for us to round out the lineup. We certainly could use a starting pitcher and pen help too.
  14. https://www.mlb.com/news/2019-mlb-free-agents-c302403844 Which of these guys could we be serious suitors for? Cole will have a strong market if healthy that I'm not sure we touch.
  15. Marcell Ozuna might be that Dye type addition for us this offseason. He would be a really nice plug in option for RF on a three year deal.
  16. The MLB draft is the strangest of any professional sport. Prep arms are high risk of busting, but also very high reward if they pan out. Most of your top starting pitching prospects come from the high school ranks it seems.
  17. I really think Madrigal is going to have a really nice month of June and qwell any fears about his slower start. Sox fans are really going to love him in our future lineup.
  18. Comp balance needs to go. Why should some clubs be given an annual built in advantage? I get that the big boys dominate the spending, but no other league does that. Teams could still receive comp picks for losing big free agents, but I don't think teams should lose valuable draft picks. I'm sure a balance could be had.
  19. Sox were never serious suitors for Kimbrel. They are not ready to go all in on spending to contend, and might not be ready until after next season.
  20. Quality starting pitching is always going to be really expensive in free agency. Sox need to take a hard look at themselves and determine if they are really willing to finally outbid other clubs for the premium talent? Until proven otherwise we have every reason to doubt. Cole/Wheeler/Bumgarner/Rendon all would be pricey additions
  21. A few things to unpack here: 1) White Sox currently would not make sense to sign Kimbrel, he wanted to go to a clear contender. 2) Signing a free agent with the sole intention of flipping him in a month is just bad business. Good luck luring premium free agents to your organization again if they did this. 3) Kimbrel has zero to do with drafting a prep arm in the second round
  22. In the new CBA I really hope they do away with Free Agent signings resulting in loss of second round draft picks, as well as getting rid of competitive balance picks. It's insane to me that certain clubs have an annual built in draft advantage over other clubs.
  23. Brody Feldmann @BFeldo14 · 19h Mustang's Logan Glass has been drafted by the Chicago White Sox in the 22nd round (650th pick) as a center fielder. "It hasn't hit me yet," Glass said. "Yeah, I'm going." #okpreps #StangNation #WhiteSox Glass is on board
  24. I believe he only has one minor league option remaining, and I do not think this is the time to waste that. Keep trotting him out there for now.
  25. Really Really hope we end up with more than just Yolbert Sanchez. Not being connected to any of the top 30 for 2019 is still concerning. Sanchez shouldn't cost mroe than $2 million or so?
