  1. Scott II has had a really rough 2024 season, as has Walker Could be a buy low opportunity, but I would rather target players with helium vs. top prospects who are struggling
  2. They are in a tough spot in that unless you are going to spend big at the top of the market, you cannot really afford to be trading away your best prospects I agree they need to add higher end pitching to really have a shot at a deep playoff run
  3. Those would be some outstanding deals for the White Sox, especially the Baltimore deal. Hard to imagine they would part with anywhere near that much talent though.
  4. The Crochet deal is a pretty nice package of prospect for sure Robert deal is not close at all. No deal for Sox. Fedde return would be extemely weak. No deal for Sox.
  5. Especially with a guy like Fedde who is signed for a really reasonable $7.5 million next season. If he kept pitching this well and was a free agent he would easily be entertaining 3+ year offers for $15+ million annually
  6. Sellers tend to have the advantage this time of year. Pressure is on contending clubs to add meaningful pieces ofr a playoff push, and if the pricetag is not met you just hold onto your asset as a seller. As the clock ticks closer to the deadline, the pressure will rise to make something happen. Keep waiting if I am the Sox.
  7. Also feels light to me for Crochet I need one sure fire headlining prospect of the caliber that onl;y gets dealt in a blockbuster plus more Rushing, Freeland and Ferris are all really good prospects, but I would not call any of them elite.
  8. There is arguably more risk than reward in extending Crochet 2 1/2 seasons away from free agency though Sox are not going to be competitive in the near term, so as great as Crochet has looked it may make sense to cash him in for young, cost controlled talent and build for the future.
  9. I get what you are saying, but the Astros have objectively a bottom five garm system in the MLB. I doubt they would be able to beat what other clubs would offer in a Fedde trade, but I could be wrong if the Sox really like certain prospect(s).
  10. Fedde's $7.5 million salary for next season vs Eflin's $18 million is a substantial difference to many clubs The money alone makes him worth more on such a reasonable deal the rest of this season and next
  11. We are currently looking at Orioles, Guardians, Mariners, Phillies, Brewers, Dodgers , Yankees, Twins, Astros, Braves, Cardinals, Padres as potential deadline buyers
  12. Something like this is exactly the type of return the White Sox should be looking for for Fedde A young position player and young pitcher, both with upside.
  13. Perhaps, but the track record is still really short Sox should approach him about an extension and if the ask is reasonable a deal should get done
  14. I actually doubt there is another club willing to part with anywhere near that much considering his injury history^ I am actrually on board with trading Robert Jr, Crochet, Fedde, Pham, DeJong, Kopech, Etc. as I think they need to blow this up and totally rebuild with a clean slate.
  15. The glass half full fan in me wants to vote "B", but experience tells me this is a C grade trade for the Sox Does it have potential to work out if Thorpe/Iriarte/Zavala pan out? Of course, but I am not sure how likely that is with the White Sox Thorpe dominated lower minor league hitters as a polished college right hander with a plus-plus changeup, but the 90-93 MPH fastball may not threaten MLB hitters enough. I also do not love his upright delivery, similar to Rodon, that may lead to shoulder and/or elbow issues down the line. He profiles as a #4, but with more ceiling if he can somehow find 94-96 MPH fastball velocity. Iriarte is the guy to dream on, with a potential three plus pitch mix. The control and command would need to take a full grade forward for him to stick as a starter. He reminds me of Reynaldo Lopez, with a bit less velocity. I pray for a starter, but far more likely he winds up in the bullpen. Zavala could be the prize of this trade, although he is quite a ways away from the majors. Impressive numbers at age 18/19 in low A, but will need to see him hit at the high A level before having an idea of what he could become. Dream of a MLB regular, but who knows? This is a serviceable package, although fans surely were hoping for at least one truly premium prospect in return for Cease. Getz could not risk carrying him into the regular season, where an injury or poor performance could sink his value.
  16. I like Porter a lot. Talented arm, but there is considerable reliever risk with him as well.
  17. I doubt the Mariners would consider trading him, but Colt Emerson would absolutely be who I would target in a trade. He could break out in a big way in 2024.
  18. Mayo would be a tremendous get as headliner from the Orioles. Big Pop and arm. Should be able to play passable third base, or possibly RF.
  19. That simply is not close to getting a deal done
  20. Nick Madrigal does absolutely nothing for the White Sox moving forward and has little, if any, trade value. Hard pass.
  21. None of those packages would get a Cease deal done^
  22. Although ATL makes sense as a suitor, I do not see them being the trade destination at the end of the day unless the Sox are hell bent on adding pitching Cincinnati, Cubs, Red Sox, Dodgers, Giants, Braves, Cardinals, Orioles, Phillies, Twins, Blue Jays, Yankees could all make degrees of sense
  23. 100%. Screw the Orioles unless we are getting two of Mayo/Cowser/Kerjstad/Basallo plus more I see too many posts by fans suggesting what I consider to be really light return packages for Cease Although it makes sense to deal him, the Sox can refuse to trade him unless they get exactly what they want in return. I rightfully want a king's ransom. Why should we be considering less than the Luis Castillo trade when Cease has two full seasons of control?
  24. I was thinking the same thing. What if it ends up being a surprise club that steps up with an offer after lurking for awhile? Although unlikely, the Twins could be a potential sleeper suitor? They have the prospects to get a deal done. Yankees? Rangers? Phillies? Blue Jays? Mets? Cardinals? Astros do not have the farm to get a deal done
  25. Glasnow is electric when healthy, but a five year deal seems extremely risky for him on the wrong side of 30 Nice when you have a huge budget
