  1. I am right there with you. Unless the Sox want a quantity package for Cease, which I doubt, I do not see the Dodgers being the trade destination. Bingo. Busch is already 26 years old and underwhelmed in 27 MLB games down the stretch in 2023. He offers no defensive value, so do we want to bank on the bat being tremendous?
  2. This would be underwhelming, especially with Cartaya having a weak season at the plate. I like Ryan and Kopp, but this package is not enough for me to consider moving two reasonably priced, prime seasons, of Cease. Pass.
  3. Also seems light to me as well Sox do not need to rush this process. While I think it is likely a club finally meets the high asking price and they deal him, the Sox also are not forced to accept a subpar offer.
  4. Agreed The Cubs do match up well and have a deep farm system. Unknown what their level of interest in a reunion of sorts would be, and if they are willing to start dealing prospects at this stage.
  5. 3/$75 million and a %25 million AAV certainly helps the Sox in trade negotiations for Cease Sox would be wise to let more dominos fall in free agency and creating an urgency for contenders to add such an affordable starter for the next two seasons
  6. I have a feeling Dodgers are not the end destination if Cease gets dealt
  7. An issue with some of the Dodgers pitching is that most and/or all of those players are not exactly young for being prospects. If I am dealing Cease I would want players young than 25-26 years old as centerpieces.
  8. Ehhh I doubt he gets 2/$30 million in the current market
  9. This would be a really poor trade for the White Sox. Hendricks value has increased in the current FA period and the Sox do not have to trade him unless the return makes sense.
  10. I agree Fun idea, but I doubt the Mets are willing to part with Baty that easily. He has quite a bit of value on his own.
  11. Missing out on Machado/Harper/Wheeler is really what screwed the rebuild, coupled with the TLR hire. I was open to the La Russa hire at the time, but the roster has enough issues of its own as well.
  12. Sox are totally the club that will spend $15 million on Benintendi, $7-8 million on Duvall and another few million on pitching depth instead of dropping $25 million on a player that actually makes a difference. It's infuriating.
  13. Highly doubt Benintendi gets a 5 year deal from anyone. I see a 3-4 year deal being possible.
  14. I also thought Frazier could make a decent bit of sense on a one year deal for around $6 million I do not have much faith in this club doing much this offseason
  15. Gallo on a 1/$10 million deal for example really does not do anything for me Fans need to ask themselves if the player repeated their 2022 performance, would we be happy? Hell no. Typical White Sox to rely on a lightning in a bottle if everybody remains healthy and has a resurgent season we can possibly win the central
  16. I agree. I'd put Montgomery's ETA as second half of 2024 at this point unless he has a monster 2023. Ideal pathway would be Birmingham for three months and finish the season at Charlotte, then Charlotte for the first few months next year followed by a call up.
  17. No chance the Sox were coming close to 3/$60 million for Jose given the state of the roster Happy he got paid, but sucks to see him go to Houston
  18. I could see Quintana landing a three year deal for solid money in this market
  19. I'm sure other teams were in on Clevinger, but $12 million seems expensive for a bounce back candidate. Guys like Heaney and Quintana should be licking their chops now.
  20. Agreed Merrifield is not really an upgrade over Harrison at this stage in his career. Royals should have traded him years ago when his value was higher.
  21. Jose Rodriguez has actually been hot after a slow start to the season. His past 22 games: .375 AVG - .406 OBP - .896 OPS. For a 21 year old in AA his numbers are really solid outside of HR.
  22. DSL stats are largely worthless, especially for a 20 year old player facing much younger competition. We will not have a good gauge on him until he plays in the states against more advanced pitching.
  23. No clue who the Mets would be bidding against
  24. I wanted the Sox to be in on Scherzer, but there is zero chance the club entertains a contract remotely close to what the Mets just did.
