  1. You realize Crochet is just turned 22 about a month ago and had zero time in the minors to develop before being tossed into a MLB bullpen, right? The stuff is there, and with further development he could become really valuable.
  2. I would be very surprised if the Sox made Crochet available in trade talks. He's a valuable bullpen piece right now and has starter potential if developed properly.
  3. I'm not loving the cost to acquire BP help either. Wait it out until the deadline when clubs have more incentive to move their rental assets.
  4. Sox thankfully do not have a current need to add starting pitching. Usually it is expensive to trade for at the deadline.
  5. Agreed. Turner is simply not a realistic trade option for the Sox as the asking price will be exorbitant. Hahn is shrewd enough to not clean out the farm for any one player. Expect them to go the rental route.
  6. I am not expecting any splashy deadline deals for the Sox. Really think they look to go the relatively inexpensive rental route with Escobar and a a reliever. Our farm does not have the pieces for bigger fish
  7. Baz looks like a stud as well Pirates really screwed up that trade
  8. Burke may well be the most interesting player we drafted. Great size, and his stuff shows big time potential. Sox generally have developed pitching well, and I expect him to rise up our prospect lists
  9. Hard to imagine the Royals moving him within the division
  10. The Royals have some interesting prospects in their system, but I cannot see them contending in 2022, or even 2023 for that matter.
  11. Really do not like the idea of emptying out our lower minors and would much prefer an Escobar rental
  12. Far smaller sample size, too soon to draw conclusions
  13. Frazier likely has a sky high asking price because the Pirates do not have to trade him. I do not love the idea of trading for a player based on a career year of production.
  14. Really do not like the idea of trading Burger or Sheets for a rental A few months of Escobar should not end up being all that costly
  15. Not a fan of either of these trades. Seems like a pretty poor use of assets, especially Burger/Sheets/Kelley
  16. Madrigal will never have the power to become a true star, but he absolutely could be an annual 4 ish WAR guy Moncada still has the greater upside
  17. Guessing today, EE and a reliever
  18. Sheets/Burger have both outperformed expectations since getting called up. I'm not sure where either will get consistent at bats once Jimenez/Robert come back, but it is a good problem to have
  19. Baez looks foolish to not accept that deal right now
  20. Some team may be desperate enough for pitching to overpay Rodon, but I do think the extensive injury history and short track record of elite performance will give most clubs pause on a big money deal. Sox best bet is to offer the QO and see how things play out
  21. A rebuilding club absolutely could give him a shot. The power is legit, and even modest hit tool improvement could lead to him being a viable corner OF.
  22. Me too. Cannot argue with stupid
  23. If I had to guess the trade deadline haul it would be Escobar and possibly a pen arm (not necessarily in the same trade) Sox may aim higher, but I think they will find pricetags too steep
  24. Sox twitter can have some real meatballs on it
