  1. Not getting Boston's best prospect for Sale is going to sting for a while.
  2. Yea I'm worried. He looks dreadful.
  3. Sox stockpile enough guys like Cordell, Kemp, Gillaspie, Polo etc. and eventually they are bound to strike gold on someone. Really you could throw Kevan Smith, Delmonico, Engel, Davidson, Leury into that same tier as well. Individually they may not be too impressive but players of that status break out as above-average major leaguers all the time. Sox have a lot of playing time to go around for the foreseeable future, especially in the outfield...makes sense to keep rolling the dice on these guys and seeing what happens.
  4. If the Sox spun Tyler Clippard into an actual asset after only a few weeks then there is little doubt they can cobble a major league quality bullpen together out of thin air.
  5. Probably just a salary dump. If the Astros wanted him they could have just asked the Yankees politely.
  6. Well it's back to being a doormat. At least we caught a glimpse of what they can be.
  7. The Sox can sign quite a few players for up to about four years from this offseason (three years from the next, so on and so on) and it won't really affect their ability to extend players coming up through the system. They are locked out of international free agency too, so no worries about that. I expect them to be very active in FA. I know that's an unpopular opinion, but they can sign good players as soon as this offseason and it does nothing to hurt their long term prospects. As long as they don't trade farmhands for aging vets, and I don't think they'll do that again, they can even make some of the old types of ALL IN moves as soon as this offseason with limited consequences.
  8. Also, I think there is a pretty strong case to be made that Kopech is the Sox Best prospect. Better than Robert, Jimenez and even Moncada. The only thing I think that can stop Kopech from being an absolute ace is injury.
  9. If the goal is for him to be a full time contributor in 2019 he will need to spend a lot of time (2 or 3 months) in the majors next year. I see no point in preserving his service time....he's a pitcher. Not only that a pitcher with huge velocity. If he excels in ST and Charlotte I wouldn't have a problem with a May callup.
  10. If a player is in the majors they cease to be a prospect.
  11. Well our very own FutureSox left Delmonico off the Sox top 30.
  12. I dont count him anymore. If I did it wouldnt be close.
  13. Second easiest in baseball.... Cardinals have the easiest.
  14. That's fine as long as his bat makes up for it.
  15. My original point was that for a team in the playoff hunt that needed a corner outfielder Eloy would probably be an internal option as soon as this year. But the circumstances are obviously nothing like that in the White Sox org.
  16. It is absolutely obvious to anyone paying any amount of attention that Eloy Jimenez probably doesn't belong in Winston-Salem anymore. Anyone want to disagree with me when I say Eloy Jimenez is ready for Birmingham?
  17. Well yeah, because the Cubs didn't need him rushed to the majors and the Sox don't want him rushed to the majors. Devers played less than 90 games in AA and Pawtucket combined.
  18. For a competitive team needing to fill an OF spot he would've been rushed up to the majors and playing right now, just like the Red Sox did with Devers at 3rd. There really isn't a flaw to his offensive game. Does not strike out much, walks a good amount, effortless power to all fields, puts the bat on the ball...the potential is unlimited.
