  1. .....and 10 in a row if they had finished off that 9th inning comback against the Angels.
  2. All the way at the top.
  3. The Sox are 4 games over the .500 mark since last years All Star break plus 1-3 in the playoffs. Unfortunately it looks like that's what we have on our hands, basically a .500 team with some serious flaws. The handwriting was on the wall and during the off season the FO refused to address the needs of the team, shame on them.
  4. The Sox offense so far this year is giving the phrase "under achieving " a whole new meaning.
  5. He hasn't done it since he's been here, why would he start now.
  6. Hahn's hands are tied by JR. We will never be a premier franchise and have it run as a major market team until JR is gone and we have a new owner.
  7. I've thought along these lines for decades.
  8. Going nuts is putting it mildly, that guy needs some Valium.
  9. I'm also tired of TA's act. Remember a few years ago when the Sox needed a Centerfielder and TA said he wouldn't mind giving it a try, maybe it's time. You can move Robert to RF which might lengthen his career. Can Yolbert Sanchez play shortstop because this kid is probably ready, if not the Sox should try to get Taylor Walls from the Rays.
  10. My guess is Burger was sent down to play second base as Harrison hasn't been the answer.
  11. Yes, wrist injuries can be a real nuisance, I had a wrist strain from hitting a root while golfing back in 1990, it took a year and a half before it was 100% again but AV's is not a strain so I think he will be back much sooner. Cortisone wouldn't help with an injury like mine but should help with any inflammation that AV is experiencing.
  12. I despise everything Red Sox including their fans I'd rather beat them than the Cubs, 2 out of 3 would be great but with the pitching matchups, I only feel good about Sunday. BTW, that goes for the Bruins and the Pats, Celtics and NBA, couldn't care less.
  13. If a pitcher wound up with 300 wins for a career he was just about assured of entry into the HOF I can't name one pitcher with 300 wins who isn't in the Hall except for Clemens and we know why he's not in. I would venture to say we will never see another pitcher with 300 career wins maybe not even 200, what the new criteria will be for entry in the HOF will be is interesting, I'm sure ERA will be a factor along with strikeouts and probably WHIP and WAR.
  14. Like some have said, pitchers W-L aren't that relevant anymore but if they are going to reward a W to someone it's time to change the rule to maybe giving it to the pitcher who threw the most innings like Kopech last night. The pitcher of course would have to be the pitcher of record when he was relieved otherwise everything else would remain the same.
  15. Don't swing for the fences, line drives will work.
  16. Great job by Cease and the bullpen, lets sweep the Flubs. We should be much better once we get Yoan back, we need his lefty bat in the lineup.
  17. Cut him or use him as a mop up guy but then you take up a spot on the roster. The answer is to cut him.
  18. I'm 76 and go back to the early 50's and the GO GO SOX and 17 years of winning baseball, what I'm watching right now is extremely painful with lots of heartache. I've seen some bad White Sox baseball down through the years especially with the 68,69 and 70 teams who were as bad as can be but didn't have anywhere near the talent of the 2022 team. I thought that with 2 playoff appearances in a row we were on our way to some great baseball on the Southside with a good chance of a World Series Championship in the near future. We were all taken in by a great first half last year but since then it's been like someone turned off a switch and the Sox turned into a bad team that forgot how to play the game. Our hitters have no clue, can't work a count if their life depended on it, last night a perfect example with 3 hits and 1 lousy walk. The defense hasn't been good either and usually is caused by a lack of concentration and sometimes laziness. Living in Florida I watch a lot of Rays games and the difference is like night and day between the 2 clubs starting with the manager and the attitude of the players and their approch to the game. It's still early and there's still a chance to turn this around, maybe once everyone is healthy and with a little attitude adjustment the team can get back to winning baseball. We are in the worst division in MLB and if they don't dig themselves too big of a hole they can come back and get back to the playoffs.
  19. Picking him up was a typical JR move, trying to win on the cheap.
