  1. I’m going with what Paulie said, forget the losses, the Sox will be one of the 18 teams that won’t make the playoffs, only way I keep my sanity.
  2. Does it really matter what the lineup is, they all stink.
  3. This season is beyond a nightmare, eventually they might make a movie about it, will be scarier than The Exorcist.
  4. Well good, they can have him and they can have Moncada and ILOY too.
  5. Who would trade for Robert, he’s a quitter. I remember Ernie Banks in the 1950s playing with pretty bad Cubs teams but he went out there and did his job every day hitting homers and driving in runs and won 2 MVP awards in 1958 and 1959. Banks had more class in his baby finger than Robert will ever have.
  6. Sign premier free agents but we know that the wretched owner won’t do that, only hope is new ownership and damn soon.
  7. Anyone with half a brain can see that he has plain out quit, Grifol who has a quarter brain can see it and probably benched him, 2 Ks and 2 at bats and not even going through the motions. Just about everyone on this team needs to look into the mirror and start acting like professionals, they’ve living a dream and making great money, someone needs to chew their asses out and read these stiffs the riot act.
  8. Randy Arozarena in a cool thing is walking in the walkway behind Randyland and shaking hands with his fans and thanking them for their support, how great is that, still can’t believe the Rays traded him.
  9. 3 scenes, the first is from The Natural when Roy Hobbs is bleeding from his mid-section while at bat and hits the game winning walk off homer and the Knights win the pennant. The second is manager Dutch Schnell’s clubhouse speech to his NY Mammoths played by the great character actor Vincent Gardenia in Bang The Drum Slowly. Also from that movie is when Piney Woods sings the title song in the clubhouse during a rain delay, every time I watch that scene, tears come to my eyes.
  10. Easier said than done but I do like the potential of the starting staff but they have to keep Crochet and Fedde and sign them to extensions. The starting lineup is anyone’s guess, Quero, Lee, Montgomery, Ramos and Baldwin are going have to fill their potential. I have no idea what to do with Robert, everybody else needs to go, Vaughn has turned out to be a major disappointment.
  11. As a pretty ardent follower of the Rays this shocked the hell out me. Arozorena was very popular with Rays fans. He got off to a bad start this year but he’s been on fire since June 1st. They’re going to have to rename Randyland out in the left field seats at the Trop.
  12. Maybe he’s demented and his family should put him in a home, what else can explain this disaster. Has he shown his face in public at all this year. I have read that hoarders can have Dementia and we know that JR loves hoarding money.
  13. Just doesn’t seem like he cares and, shows no emotion, doesn’t seem like he enjoys playing the game, has he ever smiled.
  14. I’m tired of his act, hits a homer now and then but otherwise he is just about useless with a shitty attitude, hope someone will overpay for him.
  15. 3 so far today going for the Golden Sombrero.
  16. What was the point of bringing Baldwin up, they should have let Sosa finish the season with the big club even though he botched up a few plays at second base. Every move Getz makes blows up in his face except for Crochet and Fedde.
  17. Correct on the original Sportsvision hookup, it was an abomination with the signal not all that great, we were living in Wheaton at the time and maybe being in the far west burbs was an issue. Sportsvision was the first bad move by JR with so many bad moves in his 43 years of ownership of the Sox which has led to Chicago becoming a Cubs town, it’s not even close anymore. JR and EE bring in pay TV to watch the Sox while the Cubs are televising all their games on free WGN with Harry Caray leading the way. WGN was soon to become a Super Station and the Cubs become not only Chicago’s team but also America’s team.
  18. In answer to the question, I never ever want the Sox to lose a game, every loss is like a small paper cut. What I want is new ownership who will run the White Sox like the big market franchise that they are instead of like the Reds, Pirates, and Royals. What Reinsdorf has given us this year is an absolute nightmare with a horrible GM who is in over his head, the worst manager in the history of the franchise and a roster full of bad players who are either castoffs or failed minor leaguers who have no business being in the Majors. The hitting is atrocious with guys with clueless at bats, does this team not look at tapes and see what they are doing wrong and maybe trying something different, what the f*** is the hitting coach doing, probably just stealing money. Right now they would probably be better off replacing everyone except for a few guys with the Birmingham Barons, it couldn’t be any worse.
  19. Same ratio as last year, had 38 homers and only 80 ribbies.
